Now perhaps it is weird to want to paint your character being dead, but what i enjoy about setting (one version of) Nomax into an actual time in history is that it offers the chance to explore facets of that time (plus it is just a black and white portrait, so pretty quick and easy to do :P ). And while he was born before photography was invented, his death (most likely unless i decide to change it) will fall into the period where the Daguerreotype became more common.

For those who don't know, post-mortem photography was a relatively common thing once photography became more available for the middle-classes back then. Nowadays we take it for granted to have thousands of pictures and videos and whatnot to remember loved ones by, but of course back then with photography being as expensive as it was, a post-mortem photograph could have been the only chance they had to have an image of whoever it was that had died.

So i had the idea planned for quite a while by now but never came around to it until now.

Goodness, even with the morbidity of it this is one of my favourites of your personal art. It very much as the feel of an old Daguerreotype, and the historian in me deeply appreciates how much thought you put into portraying Nomax in ways fitting to his own age.
