Last month while working on Carlos Oliveira, then Baywatch and finally Bolin and Tonraq, the process which I use to colour started to change and with that my needs in art tools and programs changed as well.
The picture above was done in ProCreate using the wonderful brushes I bought from Clayon Henry (the inkers) and JingSketch (the paint brushes). I have struggled with painting and the processes behind it for as along as I can remember but recently it has been making more and more sense to me.
I learned on this picture that it's ok to be a bit soft, a bit more blended and to let yourself get a little messy from time to time. In this picture I gave up my sharp crisp lines for Clayton's rough bleed brush he uses to ink DC Comic's current run of Batman/Superman. It goes against everything I usually like in a brush but I had so much fun experimenting with it.
I hope as time goes by and I get more experienced with different brushes and different ways of coloring that I can continue to evolve. I am deathly afraid that I will fail or become frustrated when things go badly but I can't let that stop me trying.
I started this Patreon 2 years ago as a way to get experience, fund new tech to work with and to grow as an artist and truly find myself. While I'm not comepletely there yet I now feel like I have a really good grasp on who I am and where I'm going. Largely thanks to all of you who made this possible.
Thank you so much for believing in me my little Blitzers.
xoxo Blitz
P.S. As a direct result of me moving back to proCreate, Time lapses have returned and there is a 30 second one attached to this very post below.
