I finally got around to watching Hacksaw Ridge and thought it was alright!

You spend the first hour being preached to, and then it's an hour of real gory violence. A bit of both worlds, I guess??

The true story of Desmond Doss is really interesting, I'm just not sure this was my favourite way of showing it... Still worth a watch!

Hacksaw Ridge (2016)

HACKSAW RIDGE is the extraordinary true story of Desmond Doss [Andrew Garfield] who, in Okinawa during the bloodiest battle of WWII, saved 75 men without firing or carrying a gun. He was the only American soldier in WWII to fight on the front lines without a weapon, as he believed that while the war was justified, killing was nevertheless wrong.

Great move. Desmond Doss was so brave and saved so many without firing a weapon :)

He was so great in (the disturbing) Never Let Me Go, but I haven’t cared much for anything else he has done

I watched this when it originally came out at the Cinema and have it on DVD. I thought it was excellent and shows the incredible bravery of Desmond Doss really well. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea but if you like true stories and war movies it will be good watch.
