Alanna measuring out the cream & the alcohol, me: put it all in!! 😆😋 I’ve never had eggnog, tempted to try & make it, what does it actually taste like? 🤔 Great video as always, hope you’re having a good weekend 😄 P.s. How big was that ice cube?! 🧊😂

Stephen Wadkin

A comfy jumper and eggnog. What more does one need. My grandmother used to make eggnog at Christmas, she put brandy in hers, and rather a lot of it i seem to remember. Brought back some nice memories so thanks Alanna. I'll certainly be making some this Christmas.

Stephen Wadkin

Also if you mix it with some fizzy lemonade or cream soda you get a Snowball. 😋

Holger Steinwedel

I come from an eggnog family, my grandmother liked it. But a Puerto Rican friend introduced me to Coquito, so no more eggnog for me! It has coconut milk in it, and that Caribbean touch on a grey winters day makes it so much better.

Dr Philip J Naylor

Cheers Alanna! Snowballs are more the Xmas thing here: advocat+lemonade+a maraschino cherry. Dark Matter spiced rum would work well in your recipe- it's got quite a lot of clove in it already.

Stuart Summers

Heh, that looked really professional - tempted to give it a go myself. Family generally goes for mulled wine as Christmas drink but I can't stand it. BTW Loving your huge ice-cube moulds.

I'm also used to eggnog being with Brandy not that I've had it for years now. Your recipe sounds better to be honest and so that'll be a nice little project sorted for me next week thanks very much!! I see that Kent is going into Tier 3 after Lockdown ends - stay safe and dig out some more Michael Buble😁🎵🎧

You asked if you 'can get it in the UK' - but, to be honest, I've never seen it anywhere. When I was a kid, my parents once had a bottle of "Egg Flip" bought them, which apparently is a cocktail of brandy, egg and simple syrup (?), garnished with grated nutmeg - so it sounds very similar. Personally speaking, I occasionally fancy a glass of Warnink's Advocaat, which is the commercially-produced Dutch version of your egg-nog, made with brandy! All the "yum" without the hassle of having to make it! I can't get over those gigantic ice-cubes of yours!

Simon

I had no idea egg nog was basically spiced and boozy custard.

Good to watch and you always say you can't cook .Is it likely you don't like cooking. .lol Have a great weekend the both of you..

Brett Carruthers

The great thing about alcohol is even if it isn't great, it gets better the more you drink.

Tom Hardie

Hi eee, gotta love a bit of advocaat at Christmas time, nice warming drink. Prefer it on it's own though, don't mess around with adding lemonade to it.. 🙈 Also, the reason for the ingredients list being at the top is so you can measure out everything before you start, set up your 'mise en place' 👍 makes things so much easier...

Brian

is that ice cube the one the Titanic hit lol. Only joking, eggnog looks yummy

James Alberg

Never took to egg nog 🤮 and not planning to try. But fun watching you give it a go. 😃

Ah, well that's where ramekins and little bowls come in to their own, I suggesting eating a lot of Gü desserts and you get lots of little glass ramekins as a lucky side effect

David Powell

Think I've seen ready made egg nog in supermarkets before, never been tempted though, but then again I thought it was a raw egg drink. Boozy spiced custard does sound good though! I do love a nice warm glass of mulled wine when I'm at a Christmas market. Do you drink mulled wine in Canada too?

Suzanne Hawkins

Here in Canada we make something similar to egg nog but with a lot more liquor involved. we call it Moose Milk, cuz canadian.. its really more of a Canadian military tradition. easy recipe 2 L of Vanilla Iced Cream 4 L of Egg Nog 2 L of Rum (dark, white, spiced or a mixture) 1 Tbsp of Nutmeg Instructions: Mix all the ingredients in a serving bowl and serve!

Lester Townsend

think i said to add cinnamon to the mix, but not sure if you did ..
