This was great! Your cooking videos are always so funny! Thank you so much for making them!

Yum!!! They looked great! Might attempt them but with different icing, not a buttercream fan. Have you ever tried five guys milkshakes with bacon, so strange but good lol I think that’s another baking success, you’ll soon have a cookbook!

Will

I thought Alanna couldn't bake... Who are you and what did you do with Alanna? 😂 Those looked amazing. Who needs a fancy mixer and cupcake holders?? I think I would probably skip the bacon too.

Malcolm Lawrence

Mm, cup cakes are nice...buttercream also decent....maple syrup good.... and bacon (esp crispy) is divine. Put them all together - not so sure, but that's Nigella's fault. I suspect if I made them there wouldn't be any bacon left to put on top!

Stephen Parker

Hi, Alanna, that was brilliant I really enjoy your cooking videos. That was the highlight of the weekend. I'm really not sure about the bacon but apart from that it looked delicious. Hope you do more cooking soon.

John Fry

Brilliant job! They looked excellent, still tempted to give them a go some time (even with the bacon)

Shaun Garratt

Nice work! The maple cupcakes look great, less bacon is the way to go. Sounds like it should have a salted caramel vibe, but not if all you can taste is the bacon.

Adam Clark

If this recipe comes from the woman who introduced me to marmite pasta, not a typo, then surely it must be very tasty and delicious. It can be painful to watch you cook sometimes, as someone who likes it done properly, but it also brilliant entertainment. Maybe mixing the bacon bits in with the cupcake mix would help tone down the bacon flavour.

Steve Mikre

Thanks for another funny Patreon episode! Did the unused bacon bits to top your salad for lunch that day?

Iain Chase

Great effort, as much as I love bacon I don't think I'd have been a fan of the combo either, but the cakes themselves and the icing looked brilliant. I randomly came across your Scottish Food video today, maybe instead of bacon sprinkle some of that Scottish fudge on instead - for the full diabetic coma experience :)

The best part of baking cakes is getting to scrape the bowl out after, never got the chance when the kids were still at home, raw cake mix bad but yummy. Did I spy a blender to your left, that would have mixed the icing OK. Bacon sprinkles, crush in a pestle and mortar or use the blender before making the icing, another way is sandwich between cling film and beat with a rolling pin or cut down broom handle.

Excellent choice of recipe from John as it was controversial and novel. The one with the buttercream on looked like something from the window of an artisan baker. Can I admit to being a bit annoyed when you measured ml of yoghurt and maple syrup as grams? And am sure the outcome would be very different smoked vs. unsmoked bacon and back versus streaky. Cheers!

I also noticed your burr coffee grinder they can grind other dry things not just coffee, a pain dismantling and cleaning after if one does not want ones coffee having other flavours. I use mine for spices as well as coffee. Very crispy, grease free pieces of bacon would grind well on a course setting.

I've heard of those, but not tried! I know there's some cocktails that are served with bacon 😬 I can see why, but I'll probably pass lol

I’ve never heard of bacon in cocktails, not sure about that 😂

Brett Carruthers

I'd eat those. I love maple flavoured stuff. You should ask the butler for a food processor for your birthday/christmas! Do you think your cooking has improved over the years?

Lester Townsend

would it be better with un-smoked bacon , as its not so strong a taste ??

William Seabrook

It seems that bacon is infiltrating everything these days. Just give me my bacon and eggs, please!!
