Girl, you’re doing great! 💜

Interesting stuff. I think my first A+N video was the taste test one that was shown in this video. I was in Canada and my brother was showing my niece stuff about the UK, the taste test video came up. This was probably late 2018. I don't recall my first Patreon video as I think I binged the entire catalogue so they all blur together. I joined here in February 2020 I think, after watching the "I'm getting kicked out of the UK" video and feeling sorry for Alanna.... Well play Alanna, well played. 😂

Mark J

Hi Alanna, can I just say, don't ever worry about a video idea "not being good enough" - I, and I'm sure everyone else who watches are here for your personality so it wouldn't matter if you filmed yourself reading the phone book - we're here for your always funny quips!

Colin Barrow

Excellent video, Alanna! My first A+N video was Eat This: Foreigner Tries British Junk Food in February 2018 and my first Patreon one was the driving vlog you showed near the start of this video. I'm always glad to see you pop up on YouTube, Patreon or Twitch and you're still coming up with great video ideas and executing them really well!

Mornin’ You sounded so much Canadian back then whereas today you sound almost 100% US ? How weird is that? I think you’re voice is your greatest asset followed closely by “looks” & Personality! Keep it fun and lighthearted 🤪🤸🏽‍♂️😆 life is too short for the serious stuff. Ava good day & smile 😁

I'm definitely grey couch era, but I don't remember which specific video - probably something cider related. Keep up the great work.

Lovely vid ..Seeing the old you ..How you've changed..🙏❤️

Whats In My Kitchen was the first of your videos that i watched, I think it was the jar of Marmite you were holding in the thumbnail that made me watch it and I have been here ever since.

Great video Alanna! I remember my first video being the one you showed with the strobing curtains. I was intrigued what a Canadian thought of pork pies and scotch eggs lol.

Love this video, and love the whole community you've built up. Just a couple of points if you don't mind. Your videos are more than 'good enough'. You are not an imposter. There are a lot of YouTubers out there who are saying the same thing when it comes to YouTube. They've royally f***ed up their algorithm, and a lot of really good content creators are struggling. But one sentence you said did really jar. For the absence of doubt: You will ALWAYS be relevant. Please don't ever feel different. I'm glad you sound more positive. Oh, and the gratitude goes both ways!

Joined you a few months before you had to go back to Canada for a Visa application. Had a week or so out occasionally to rob Peter and pay Paul. Never worry about repeating a video theme as if you've forgotten you've done it before so have we.

I remember coming across A&N on YT in 2018 when I was looking into travelling to Europe. I remember watching you making KD or a grilled cheese/cheese toastie. I just checked when I joined Patreon and that was Oct 2019 so I went back in time to watch the Patreon videos I had missed.

Adam Clark

I found you through a taste test video and it was around the Beast from the East time or just before that i think. I am also fairly certain that i was in on the first rung as far as Patreon goes. I don't do Twitch and don't interact very much but i am still here and still enjoying watching whatever you put out. If you do have a time when you dry up creatively just take a break. It will be good for you and we will all still be here. Don't become a slave to the analytics, although i know that is easy for me to say!

I'm excited for the next 5 years...🇨🇦🇬🇧

This was a fun video! I don't remember the exact one, but it was sometime in 2017. I had just got back from visiting family in the U.K. and your videos started popping up in my YouTube stream. For what it's worth everyone I follow on YouTube has been struggling lately, whatever content you decide to put out I will keep following, thanks for all the laughs!

David Pierce

It's interesting. In the early vids you seem both like yourself and like someone else. As you say, funny how people change and yet an essential thread remains. Most people don't have an opportunity to see that. Thanks for sharing

Tazz1669

Can't remember my first but started watching as I have some Canadian friends and I was wondering how things were different for them. Watched you on YouTube for a while then started supporting you and some other channels on patreon around the same time as I felt some people would probably struggle without the support

Stuart Hamilton

What a great video, Alanna! Every time I watch one of these I feel I've got to know you and understand you more. I'm sure others have said this, but you are most certainly relevant and stop being your worst critic! I found you first on YouTube when you were going through talking about your first taste of life in another (strange) country. It really hit home with me as I felt the same when I emigrated to Australia! It brought back all sorts of emotions that I thought I'd forgotten! In those days (1970's) my only contact with home was a weekly letter to either my mum or dad and "Worldwide Family Favourites" on the radio. Thank goodness I got over my isolation when I got to know some Australians and I started to absorb their vibes- sort of! Any road up, keep going with Patreon and everything else you do. Thank you!

I think Your greater community beyond YT has given you a renewed sense of purpose. It's not all about chasing the vaunted algorithm. Sometimes it's just about finding your tribe. Honestly, I think you have. It's definitely it's a quality over quantity thing.

Thomas Gray

YES! The car video's! I forgot about those

Thank you so much!! Australia is such a far country to move to, that must have been really hard. I'm very grateful for FaceTime now!

I forgot about the ones with the scabby walls, weren't they the ones where you used to face the window? When the sun came out it would blow the camera out, or was that somewhere else?
