Hey Patreon! 👋 Happy 2024!! 🎉

I don't do New Years Resolutions, but I do like to take some time and decide on goals or things I'd like to focus on in the new year - here's my process, and what I'm planning for in 2024!

That may be, but I've NEVER seen it 🧐

However, in the larger scheme of things it's not fatal 😁

I need to get a better sleep schedule. I’m going to get more outside time with the dogs. Also want to move away from landscape and animal painting and try my hand at human portraits.

The tree and decorations should stay up and only be taken down at the end of twelfth night, tonight, Epiphany or Womens Little Christmas here in Ireland, a big party night thrown for all the women as a thank you for their work over the Christmas period. Today is also the Eastern Orthodox Christmas, that Church still uses a different calendar, the one that was in use at the time. They celebrate Easter at the same time as we do as that is Luna based. Easter Sunday falling on the 31st of March this year.

I greatly admire your organizational skills.

Reading in bed is something i have done all my life. I have never had a tv in my bedroom and for the most part i don't take any electronics with me. I find it calming and restful and a good way into easy sleep.

Great video, Alanna! I'm looking to change some things at work this year. First, get the person who works for me promoted to a new role and second, get a new role for me as well. I will have been in this job for five years by September so hoping to be applying for new roles by then. Other than that it would be continue captioning and get better at cooking

Alanna there is apps to track your drinking. Mine has my daily intake at 2.75 litres, now I track it I tend to exceed that every day, when I started I was drinking about half of that. I drink a lot of coffee but I'm cutting that down now.

That is SUCH a good habit. We don't have a TV but it's too easy to get stuck on my phone. Really enjoying reading before bed tho, as long as the book isn't too depressing lol

Ah yes! I used an app but sort of fell out of tracking once I knew I was typically getting enough water. Super helpful at the beginning, though!

Traditionally the tree did not go up until Christmas Eve, for years we had a rooted tree which was dug up from the front garden and planted in a half barrel tub which had casters on it and allowed to acclimatise in the coldish conservatory for two weeks. The reverse done after Christmas, this continued until the tree got too tall to fit in the living room or conservatory. It may still be in the garden of that house but would be well over 40 ft tall now. We decorated it in the garden until we moved and had an artificial one inside, didn't feel or smell the same though.

Thanks for this, Alanna! I've got plans to shake things up this year, and I like the idea of being in a community where everybody wants to work towards bettering themselves. I need to dig out a good friendship app and push past my social angst lol. I did find your secret channel, but I've not subbed or watched anything - we will be your algorithm guardians!
