should've made a hole in the top to let out the steam! 10 out of 10 delights !

👏👏👏👏👏 They look excellent.

You have made pork pies before, same recipe as well. Nonetheless, an enjoyable video.

Your muffin tin situation reminds me of when I had two identity corkscrews but didn't realise for months because they each lived in different parts of the house. For great baking recipes, try searching the Guardian website for "Dan Lepard step-by-step".

When I was diagnosed as diabetic, one of the things that was a "NO-NO" was the pork pie! It had to go, along with bread, rice, pasta and anything with added sugar. God! I miss 'em! Thanks for ruining my weekend! Just kidding! Denis beat me to it re the top vent, but in the overall scheme of things, who cares! The looked great! Also, exactly how long is a "Hot Minute"? Is it like my Nan used to say when I wanted something, like "Presently" or "In a while"? Keep it up!

Those pies looked great, nice and rustic!

Pork pies should be made with Hot Water Crust pastry, recipes available online, have fun making that! The one pastry that does not appear to be made and available in shops.

Those looked very good both in appearance and in taste.

That's just the sort of thing I often do - buy an item I need, then discover I already had one put aside which I'd forgotten I had! In fact, it happened to me just last week - so I GET that exactly! Also - as DennisMenace said - a small hole in the middle of the lids would possibly have vented them enough to have prevented the build-up of steam inside them - thus preventing them exploding! But hey - anyway! They look really good, Alanna! Well Done!

Hey Stuart! me too diagnosed type 2, 6/7 years ago, problem is as you know anything consisting of grains raises blood sugar! doesn't leave much of the tastiest stuff? cutting out 90% sugary things lowered my Hb a1c from 49 down to 34 !!! diabetic in remission Yay! took 2 years to accomplish plus lost around 4 stone, 56lbs! (Ken Berry is my mentor)

Alanna on her first date with the Butler; “Fun fact about me, I’ve no frame of reference for sizing of anything. Metres, centre metres, inches, feet, mean absolutely nothing to me, so i need a ruler!” Also Alanna’s only fans bio for 2024.

The pork pies looked delicious. Remember you can never have too many muffin pans...
