I'm Alanna - a thirty-something documenting my life as a Canadian living in England. I share the ups and downs of an expat living abroad and what it's really like living in the UK. It's not always easy, but there's been so many wonderful experiences, too. I post a Youtube video every Tuesday plus an additional video every Saturday on Patreon + YT Memberships. I also livestream every Wednesday and Sunday at 5:30pm GMT/BST on Twitch. Alanna x

Loved walking my two dogs with my daughter’s 12 week old lab puppy this week - it made my week.

I kicked off renewing my passport this week, not so much for going away as to make sure that I can vote later in the year.

Reflecting on one's life is the fastest way to send one into a depression or reaching for the Gin bottle. I'd rather be kept awake by a pneumatic drill than blown up, the gas board are the only people who do emergency work at night. Speaking of bangs, those Plymouth residents were lucky that 500kg. UXB would have made a big hole.

That just reminded me to make an appointment with the Passport Office in London as the Dublin one at the Embassy closed years ago. Mine expired over 30 years ago and since lost, they will only renew it in person not online. I'm just glad the CTA still exists. Someone please tell Ryanair, BA and Aer Lingus are expensive and the ferry time consuming.

I didn’t just luv thus video…i LOVE loved this video. It felt like you were talking shop with us & I’m fully here for it. Thank you v. much for sharing your bts schedule and thought process. I especially appreciated the info that you rank your video ideas based on how well you think they’ll perform! Would you please share what “prepping a video” looks like for you? Also I hafta admit, I enjoy the fitspo (usually) gals’ gym vlogs—Whitney Simmons always makes me chuckle. But i do think it’s thoughtful when they make sure no one else is in frame when they film in the gym & if someone wanders into the frame, they blur their faces. What gym app are you using? It sounds perfectly motivating!

Aww thank you so much! ☺️ I LOVE the app "Strong" for my workouts - it's really simple to use and the free version is more than enough for a regular gym person. I love gym content too, but I super appreciate that certain creators make sure other people aren't in frame or blurred, makes a big difference!

Talking of pastries, i have just got back from Iceland where pastries are a way of life. So many excellent styles and flavours. They even have a special day, Bolludagur, where everyone eats loads of cream cakes!

Alanna - I must tell you how grateful I am to you for showing us the selection of pages that you did from your 'Castles' colouring book! I am currently building my own, virtual Lego castle on my PS4, using the 'Lego Worlds' game - which I love because it gives me free rein to be REALLY creative when it comes to architectural design! I've already built and completed one castle on there, which I've made a tour video of on my YouTube channel - but I wanted to build another, different one that was even BIGGER - and I've found myself struggling to incorporate new, different architectural features into it. Your picture samples from your colouring book have given me loads of ideas I can use in my new castle - so I wanted to thank you for inadvertently giving me some new and exciting inspiration! If you're at all interested in seeing my previous one - here's the link to it on my YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/24_XrIRQiq8?si=Pekp7YkPsXpHN58z
