Exclusive #62: Mickey and Minnie Field of Flowers (Patreon)

Happy Friday!
It's my birthday today, so I thought I'd post something a bit celebratory with this print featuring Mickey and Minnie in a field of flowers with balloons! Also pictured are my Mickey and Minnie Mouse bookmarks, available on Makerworld. These bookmarks can be printed in Mickey Scarlet Red or Minnie Basic Pink, and, because they share the same color swaps, you can print them on the same plate together!
It's been a busy week. Last weekend, we had our first market of the year and it was a nice success. We don't do many markets over the year, and we tend to apply to bigger events that target our geeky/nerdy/pop culture demographic and have larger booth sizes so we can set up our gallery walls of prints. We weren't sure what to expect for a Spring market, as we can depend on holiday markets being busy with Christmas shoppers looking for unique items for gifts. It was also the first nice weekend we've had since the deep freeze of winter we get in our area of Canada, with temperatures finally hitting double digits and beautiful sunny skies. We figured the nice weather could either be good for attendance, or people would choose to enjoy the outdoors instead. So we were pleased with the turnout, and it was so nice to recognize repeat customers who told us they'd been following our social media and were specifically looking forward to this market so they could come visit our booth. It's always great to connect with a community that appreciates our product!
Canadian Gamer and I play a game where we predict what will sell first every day. Day 1 we figured a Pokemon or CG's Legend of Zelda map or our local sports team would sell first, and we were right: CG's Legend of Zelda map was the winner, followed by the local hockey team, and then some Pokemon, all sold to people we recognized from previous markets who beelined straight to our booth when the doors opened looking for them specifically. Day 2's winner though was totally unexpected... my Indiana Jones print! It sold to a gentlemen and fellow vendor who popped over a few minutes before the market began to check out our booth. He asked, "Where's your movie category?" and the second he saw Indy, he said, "I'll take it" and informed us that he has an Indiana Jones collection with over 2000 items.
What I like about markets is the chance to see firsthand reactions to our products and what people are drawn to when they browse through our collection. Like the survey I posted before asking you for what kind of prints you wanted, the sales results from our market were pretty similar to what you asked for: Pokemon was our biggest seller, video games (though Zelda really should be in its own category, as it was as popular as the Pokemon), then Star Wars and Disney, comic books and anime prints. I was also super pleased to see so many of our original concept hueforges sell (for example, Space Man, Field of Poppies, all the cat prints, some florals, birds and landscape prints). The recognizable stuff like Pokemon we can be confident will do well, but I truly celebrate most when the uniquely different stuff goes too.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
