These Gabby-centric scenes really drive home how much she worries about Olivia potentially being unaware of the people that wanna do her harm, and with Gabby now being onto what the mean girl trio is up to, that aspect of her character really shines here. Gabby seems to be a very long-term thinker while Olivia is a short-term, live-in-the-moment character (hence why Cameron is teaching her about delayed rewards), so it's only natural that Gabby would be concerned for Olivia.

Yup! Spot on. Olivia is very child-like in her seeking immediate gratification. We see why (she had a horrible childhood so she's seeking fun now that she's in a less restrictive environment). I also have this subtle thematic element of Olivia being the 'little devil' and Gabby being her 'guardian angel' looking out for her.
