Richard Rolen

A great film. I was 5 when this took place, and my father was B-52 bomber aircrew at the time. If things had gone badly, he and his crewmates would have been on the way to Moscow to drop nuclear bombs on them. He could never give us all the details of course as it would have been a security violation, but I know that it was one of the most stressful periods of his life. I was 6 the next year when JFK was assassinated. Although he takes a few liberties with his conclusions, Oliver Stone actually got the facts pretty on point in his film "JFK" which details the controversy surrounding that event. I can highly recommend that film if you want some more recent films about the USA. (Kevin Costner has a primary role in that movie too!) I highly recommend the Director's Cut of the film if you decide to watch it.

Robert Kennedy (aka RFK) was portrayed by Steven Culp, who 4 years prior to this film also portrayed RFK in the HBO movie "Norma Jean & Marilyn" giving reference to the controversial fling John F Kennedy may or may not have had with Marilyn Monroe. Also of interesting note: Michael Fairman, who portrayed Adali Stevenson, is the same actor who played the sinister Niska in the series "Firefly"
