"Damn this boy reads quick". Sherrod can't read. One is an Algebra book, the other is a French book. He stole them to try to convince Bubbles he's taking school seriously but because he can't read he doesn't know they don't go together. When Bubbles says "I see that", he means he realized all of it that moment.
