Ah, we've reached the part of Season 4 where we learn interesting Dutch phrases 😆 Okay, so the thing about Annapolis. Baltimore is the big city in the state of Maryland, but Annapolis is the state capital. (Much smaller city, but it's where the governor lives and where the state legislature meets- we Americans kinda have a thing for capital cities not being the biggest city.) The whole plotline about the governor being rude/demeaning to Carcetti is because they're in opposite political parties, and the governor knows Carcetti might be running against him for governor soon, so he'd love to make Carcetti look bad. When they talk about the "DC suburbs", those are the cities/towns around Washington DC (which isn't part of Maryland, but a lot of its suburbs are). They're some of the richest parts of the state. so Carcetti knows he probably won't win any future governor's races if he upsets them... even though they have nothing to do with Baltimore and his job right now. As far as Polock Johnny's, I think that's a Baltimore restaurant, I've never heard of it outside of this show. I'm guessing they serve kielbasa and stuff like that... I think Bunny and the deacon are talking about getting heartburn from the food or something. And you're right- first time I saw this episode, I had just rewatched GoT, so I was used to HBO killing my favorite characters. That whole scene I was yelling at my TV that they better NOT kill my boy Mike!!!
