Garth Hill

thanks for doing this!

Sharpgirl

Artax. My childhood trauma top ten moments. Movie makers were ruthless to us 80s kids.

David Lonewolf Wright

Oh, this is perfect as it will line up with something she is already watching (then again, who knows how long ago this was recorded in relation to the other thing).

George Jewell

I think we all could use a Luckdragon in our lives.

I watched this before the other thing! My editor encouraged me to watch this sooner so I wouldn’t miss the reference! :)

Ski Patrol Kevin

The guy who directed this also did "Das Boot", if you can believe that.

This movie's title was false advertising. You wouldn't believe what happened after an hour and a half...it ended!

Jack the Narrator

Oh right. I forgot that "other thing". That thing that made me almost give up on a TV series from pure rage over the stupidity of its implementation. THAT "other thing".

fanofactionflicks

Yay the "other thing" it was such a surprise and fun to see in that other show!

It takes all kinds to diss what easily is one of the most wonderful moments in the entire series. Sure, it's cheesy, but get off your high horse, grumpy old man, or 16-year-old kid, whatever comes first.

Wow I just watched what I think you are talking about. I agree 100%, that's so jarring and pulls you right out of the story and the stakes and it makes the whole show feel fake. It's a complete break of immersion. It reminded me of a GREAT study I watched the other day on Youtube called "Sincerity: Hollywood's Forgotten Currency" I would recommend you watch it, it's very relevant to this. They sacrificed the sincerity of the moment for some "thing" they wanted to make... unbelievable.

I'm officially a grumpy old man. It was fine. lol. No hate here. I'm going to watch it again right now. EDIT: okay, in reflection, this is probably the greatest sequence in the show other than the main 'running' theme of season 4.
