As bad as it was for the 1st taskforce that we saw, it was worse for the later groups, the Germans had time to rearm and comeback attacking them all the way in and back out. In total 60 bombers were lost in the 8th air force among all the taskforces. The week or so before. The 12th air force in Africa launched a massive raid against oil refineries in ploesti losing over 50 bombers of their own. In total between those two missions over 100 bombers lost meaning and 1000 air crew killed or captured. The interrogation is for info gathering. You heard cros mention the logs, basically they sat down trying to get an account of when and where planes turned back or went down, how many chutes they could see, what fighter and FLAK resistance was like, target results and so on.
