Ah geez, now I gotta pause my rewatch of TLoU S1 so I can rewatch HotD S2 and somehow watch TLoU S2 at the same time, and this is just too many oddly-abbreviated HBO shows at once 😆 Also, I had let myself forget how brutal the end of this episode is... as soon as I saw Blood & Cheese I was like "ooh, yeah Mary's not gonna like this one bit"

Emma D'Arcy was magnificent in this episode. They only had one line ("I want Aemond Targaryen") but still managed to convey so much grief and despair throughout the whole episode. And then that scene with them and Harry Collett (who plays Jace) was so heart-wrenching. Collett was great there too, trying to play the dutiful son but at the end, he's just a grieving young man who misses his brother. And maybe even just the simple fact that we see a child-parent relationship in this series where they're actually comfortable being vulnerable around each other, sharing in their grief, consoling each other. It shouldn't be this rare but it is, which makes this moment so much more beautiful and devastating. I do wish we'd gotten a bit more in the North. In the book, there's this whole arc where Jace spends quite some time at Winterfell and gets to know Cregan Stark and his household, and even some rumors about some potentially scandalous happenings... would have been cool to see some of that.
