Alright, so I maybe, potentially, possibly could've been smarter about the fact that a crime movie called 'Taken' would be about a kidnapping, lol. This is the first movie for youtube I recorded since given birth and here I pick one about child abduction. Anywaaay, I love crime movies and this was an excellent one! The one thing that irked me a bit is that the mom was SOOOO okay with her teenage daughter travelling an ocean away with another teenage girl. It might be me, but I can imagine most parents would not like that whatsoever?  

What are some other brilliant crime movies I should watch? Since it's my favourite genre, I can't wait to dive into some more!

Mary, so nice seeing you after you had the baby!! You look great! Taken is a wild ride for sure. So much more chilling since the story is real for so many young girls who disappear. I would also recommend Taken 2. I think it's a good follow-up to this movie.

Not a taken fan but I did watch it so that I could understand the zeitgeist! :D I do love crime movies though. In addition to Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Fargo, and Zodiac (already noted above), I'd also recommend In Bruges, Gosford Park, and/or Mississippi Burning. (Apologies if you've already reacted to some of these!)
