YouTube Update -- Recent Content Removal (Patreon)

Hi everyone, hate to be posting this, but YouTube has for the second week in a row removed my latest video and rejected my appeal. I now have an active community guidelines strike and will not be able to post for one week. For now, all new YouTube videos will be posted here for free. This is super sad and really unfortunate, especially because the two videos removed are genuinely wholesome comfort content.

I will do my best to get back on YouTube soon (especially since I'm so close to 100k subscribers :x), but I will need to be extremely cautious to avoid having my account suspended which would be a nightmare.

Ffs! I truly hate that YouTube does that to you and other asmr artists. It makes absolutely no logical sense as to why other than it’s the ridiculous ai that they use. There stuff on there that’s 10x worse with actual violence but that seems to be ok to leave up. Anywho I hope things can get back on track for you and you hit that 100k marker

It's an awful situation. I've seen this happen to other creatures and it can feel so helpless, but trying alternative titles on videos might help, or avoiding uploads for a while

YT as a whole has been a complete disgrace for quite a while. I've seen multiple ASMR channels get videos taken down for absolutely no reason, because YT simply decided that the content was not ToS compliant due to alleged sexual content, when there was none present. And it's not just the AI used for detecting supposed ToS violations, the DMCA system is a complete disgrace that enables anyone to take down videos who are classified as "Fair Use". Buddy of mine is a journalist and has a YT channel with a little over 100K subs, and got a copyright strike for a video that under my country's laws would be considered fair use. Then there's the automatic EQ that is applied to uploads completely messes up a lot of ASMR videos, because YT just decides to reduce the output gain on the videos so that the ads sound louder. The end result is that a lot of quieter videos become nearly inaudible even when using a good DAC/Audio interface.

I'm reminded of that "They hated Jesus because he told them the truth" meme. On a serious note, it seems like YouTube support doesn't understand you Alex, especially if they are taking steps which severely punish you when you have done nothing wrong. A real shame, since the videos removed besides being super wholesome, have that magical/special quality that you give to all your audios, which makes them a joy to listen to. I'm rooting for you returning to YouTube, but supporting you here through Patreon now has a whole new meaning. 🙏
