PATRONS! It's 2025 and D&D is back! We're playing all evening, so ask us questions on this post, and we'll get to as many as we can during breaks!

Comments

Jam

Question for the god of the world! Skrimm at one point says that he grew up in a hoard of goblins because goblins have many many children in litters, does this mean that goblins later evolved in avantris to have less kids or Gricko is a rare case of an only child goblin?

Emerald Spires

How were your holidays? Anything fun/exciting you can share with us?

TheMadMun

What was the coolest thing y'all got as a gift for the holidays in December 2024?

TimeForceStealth

Do you plan on starting any new campaigns this year? Like replacing Beneath Dark Wings once it is over?

Cobalt Bluewaters

Hope everyone had great holidays and Andy a happy birthday! If your Icebound characters were to live in a generation (ex. 70’s, 80’s, 90’s) what would fit them best?

BabaYagasChickenToes

How difficult is it coming back to the dnd table after such a long break? Especially for the dms

Zephyr_Tree

If you could mix and match any of your characters in a campaign who would it be? And what character interaction do you think would be the funnest / most chaotic

Jess

HOW ARE YOU DOING!

Dukesteel9

GrandmaCarol

Inquiring minds want to know if Derek found a spot for the Futurama sticker I gave him at PAX?? If yes, where has it been placed???

sdwa

If anyone other than Barnabos put Barnabos' shell to their ear what, if anything, would they hear?

Lilmafia09

Did any of you make a New Years resolution? If you did what is it?

Idowhatiwant2010

I finished Mighty Trunks and Cuttlefish Sweepstakes and love them!! I know it was mentioned that yall wanted to start doing mini campaigns like that quarterly, before the CM Crunch, and was wondering if that still on the table. After the CM of course!

Fancy Frogmouth

What are your recommended first time playing DnD classes?

Erin

In his long years of sailing the seas of Avantris has Barnabos encountered any of his crewmates falling to scurvy? As a triton would he be effected by scurvy like humans would be?

Lola

For fans of Rush: Opinions on Yes and Black Sabbath? If you had to pinpoint your music tastes to a specific era, where would you place it? (5 years either side of a specific year)

Nataly Fernandes

Hi loa! Love from Brazil ❤️‍🩹 My question is also kind of a recommendation, have any of you watched the Interview With The Vampire AMC series? I know that Nikkie has read the book, and I also think that Richie specifically would really enjoy the New Orleans culture depicted in the stories <3

TinaRoxx

Not really a question, but a thank you for the laughs you guys are bringing me in a rough time in my life. I just lost my job and can't cover my rent. Watching yall is giving me the stress relief that is much needed. 🖤🖤🖤

Branden W.

Welcome back! I've recently been building up my own homebrew world for when I DM, so I can step away from purely adventure books. Any general advice on making a world come together like you have with Avantris?

PaloMeme

When do we get more fleen?

Eridan Ampora

If you had to pick one of your characters (PC or NPC for the DM’s) to be roommates with, which one would you choose?

Zephyr_Tree

I have ordered the crooked moon and plan to DM, I have never played or DMed before. any tips on being a good DM and making sure all my players feel like they are apart of the story and have a good time playing?

Laura H.

What’s a character type you’ve been dying to play but haven’t gotten a chance to yet?

SorenSilverblade

How does Taishen feel about iced and boba tea? Does he consider them an affront to his craft?

SorenSilverblade

How would you describe the themes and vibes of each of the continents of Avantris? I’m clear on places like Yona and Stryga, but what about Delphinus or Astrazoa?

Clone Andy

Are the deer in Uprooted a metaphor for the middle class

CodingZerp

Was the LoA holiday merch line gary ad video added to the one-shot playlist on purpose?

Stardust678

Question for Mikey about Barnabos and the connection to his shell. I know you're a fan of the midnight and was actually introduced to the band from an LOA stream. I was wondering if the song "deep blue" was an inspiration for barnabos and his shell/lover.

CodingZerp

For the Into the Labyrinth oneshot, was Frost playing a mystic or did he already change his class?

Derek Thorn

What is your favorite legend of Avantris lore that connects into the different campaigns?

ZandOtherThings

What children’s book fucked you up as a child? For example “Bridge to Terabithia”, or the “Velveteen Rabbit”

Perfume dept combat perhaps?? 👀 walking beside a macys absolutely destroyed my lungs- I will die happy if I see that PLEASE

Royallydick3d

If you guys have any buckets list. What’s something you guys want to do or have done on the list?

Sierra Dubuque

I am so sorry, but whats the 13 beers local cheese thing mean?

SweetMochaPaws

Not really a question, but I've never been so hyped for a release for a book, The Crooked Moon so far is AMAZING. I've read up to Father Renathyr, I'm so excited to possibly expand the trauma. Your efforts will never go unnoticed! I love you guys!!

Allison J

What is your favorite childhood toy? (Star Wars Action figures, Tonka trucks, transformers,)

Sierra Dubuque

Thanks Mikey!! Appreciate it so much <3 also you said my last name right and no one has ever done that

Fancy Frogmouth

Secondary question. What cartoon universe would you want your Icebound characters to be part of? Anime not included this time.

Royallydick3d

Would you guys ever consider running a one shot playing Call of Cthulhu?

Jacky_alltrades

So, in the Dead Mall, what's the ratio of normal people to Cronenberg-mutant-people?

Southern_hospitality

Not a question, but I found out about oriental shorthair cats recently, and (to me) they look a lot like Derek. This has further cemented my belief that Derek has cat vibes

FreeHugs

I'm catching up on beneath dark wings and I was curious, did warrior's heart include anything about nimbanci in her play? Or did the party just completely forget to make good on their deal?

Fletch, No Relation

You mentioned that The Crooked Moon will be available in 2014 and 2024. Will there be an email sent out where we make our selections, or is it going to be a 900-page conglomeration of the two ;)

Jove

What is a character you miss playing the most?

Fletch, No Relation

Clarification - I originally wanted to say 1200 page conglomeration, but Based on Mikey’s comment about the thought he put into each line of his writing I wanted to err on the low side. But my question is: What’s the ETA on the Alpha PDF, now that we’re into January? I know Mikey said he had a lot to write yet, but thought there might be others like myself chomping at the bit to read your content!

Fletch, No Relation

Does Mace have any ice cream flavors he would like to wax poetic about?

Fancy Frogmouth

Mace, have you had Tillamook brand ice cream?

Fletch, No Relation

Thank you! Had to do some digging through my chaotic email to find the Alpha PDF. I appreciate all of the work you all put in! Just scrolling through the Alpha I’m amazed at the work that’s been put into this project. Anyone who likes DnD will love this!

Fletch, No Relation

As someone who is also prepping for Monday’s blizzard, what do you like to do on snow days (now or back in the day, as kids) assuming there is no work taking up every waking hour of your days?

Allison J

Thanks for an awesome night y’all. Was great watching y’all be back at the table and getting to laugh with everyone tonight.

Griffy

Do any of the party members have any characters that turned out way differently in RP/sessions than written - personality wise?
