It's time for an entire saturday among the stars with the Stardust Rhapsody Anthem crew! How will Ziggy fit into the mix and what will everyone do without Mikey all day? Leave your questions and comments below for everyone (except for Mikey cause he's definitely not playing D&D today) to answer during breaks and we will see you TODAY at 1 pm ET for more Stardust Rhapsody Anthem!

Comments

Fancy Frogmouth

If Pyke, Rhett, and Ziggy were Pokemon which ones would they be?

Idowhatiwant2010

Andy, did you return the Monster Hunter game? Avantris Fam, what game where you so excited for but it ended up being disappointing/not what you were wanting?

ZandOtherThings

What would each of the character’s comfort food be?

Austin

Hey gang, In some of your previous sessions you mention it was a quick turn around to start some of your previous campaigns, such as Stardust Rhapsody, Edge of Midnight, and Icebound to name a few. I've also noticed several of your campaigns seem to have undergone a revamp in the past (Call of the Feywild into Once Upon a Witchlight, Edge of Midnight with Metamorphosis, and Stardust Rhapsody Overture to Anthem). First, I was wondering if you'd be willing to talk about the reason for the quick turn around to starting these, whether it just be anticipation to start a new campaign, trying to catch the wave of your growing success, or some other reason. Second, since you guys seem to be enjoying the slower start with non cannon session zeroes in your WFRP campaign, do you think you'll continue to adopt the format for any future campaigns since many of your campaigns are in the second half now? Sorry for the long setup.

belsy

If you had to pick one song/musical artist for your character, which one do you think would fit them best?

Chad Conway

How did you guys create the species used for your aliens? Did you base them off of something already DnD related?

EmilyInRedCoat

Which space clichés do you like and which ones you don't? I really enjoy Mace's space-building and I wonder what his main inspirations are because to me it feels very unique.

joshua shiflet

With the revamp of stardust Rhapsody is there going to be space combat, and if so are the weapons and abilities of the personal spaceships the same as they were in last season's or did you all go through some more revamp for them as well?

Byrnikins

Congratulations on a fantastic first two episodes back. I loved the continuous twists and turns. Heel turn was masterful. Mace that was a fantastic journey we all went on! Bravo. How would your character decorate their quarters on the ship?

PotatoBoiMikey

I know Ziggy is pretty techy and I love him for that What kind of video games would he play and what kind of gamer is he? (Like is he chilled and relaxed or does he easily get riled up) I'm wondering if this nerdy Dino man would rage over mic and hack the cheaters Or maybe he cheats himself and still gets mad at other hackers

Cobalt Bluewaters

Depending on when the reboot was finalized, did Prelude have any effect on your final decision? Was the reboot already set by then, or did the the feel of playing Prelude finalize/strengthen your choice to do so? (Prelude being in early October)

Nac'tahl

Richie and Andy, if you played a dino person what variety of dino would you be?

FreeHugs

We know that Rhett and Pike were obviously inspired by Jet and Spike, but what are Ziggy's big character inspirations? I assume the name comes from quantum leap. Same goes for Mikey character, whatever the case may be.

Snowara

Not a question, but wanted to say thank you for all that you guys do and that you guys inspired me to try DMing. I'm DMing the Crooked Moon to my group and we are all loving it so far.

SorenSilverblade

Last session, we heard Glup’s native language. What do you think Rett, Pyke, or Ziggy’s homeworld languages sound like? What would Pyke sound like speaking Solari?

genericuser.exe

I've recently been re-watching Curse of Strahdanya, and have been loving every second, and would like to know what you would say your favourite moment from that campaign was (excluding the finale)? Mine was the whole Buddy cop thing Sarnax and Shepard had going on in Chapter 4

Melanie S

I’m definitely a binge watcher of all of the Avantris campaigns and am caught up with most of the mainline campaigns. (Currently catching up with Beneath Dark Wings and Shroud over Saltmarsh.) My question is if Mace will come back to the campaigns he was a part of? Like will he come back to Edge of Midnight when it returns? Or maybe make a character for Shroud over Saltmarsh? I feel like Mace adds so much to the group dynamics of the campaigns he’s in! #joviallaugh

Raeyth__

You guys talked about the collaborative process of writing for Stardust Rhapsody last time. Is it like that for all of the Avantris campaigns, or are most them just written by the DM and the players are completely blind to everything during the campaign?

Michealwithana

With music obviously being a heavy theme, do any of you have a specific song in mind for your character(s)? And, to stave off the yes or no question, what are they? Love y'all!

Miss_Humblebrag

Not relating to Stardust, but are you going to release Jean Claudes character sheet? What class is he? I am planning on running a Root campaign myself and I'm trying to find ways to combine root and dnd. I'm more familiar with the dnd system but love the Root rules as well.

Byle

ive heard anime like bebop get referenced alot. what are some anime influences on stardust, any plans for a gundam/zoid/powerranger thing?

Notedoesart

I forgot to ask this the last time, but will any of the plots from the pervious 14 epsiodes make a camo in this story? Like any npcs or planet's that were also introduced?

Kyle Hutchings

The soundtrack for the movie Sinners is very much in the vein of The Crooked Moon. The film itself is phenomenal.

Eve

This question is for all of you, what is your favorite food at Easter dinner?

Eldritch Pizza

What are the chances of getting the STR Anthem logo on a shirt, because it is fuckin' SICK

Kyle Hutchings

Ziggy's final words will be "delete my browser history".

Pineneedles

I freaking love Ziggy! I was wondering if the class gridrunner came from the Cyberpunk red ttrpg. And Derek, having seen some of Ziggy's spells and tech babble, do you have a background in coding or tech?

Nicholas Urenha

I simply adored the Hypergrid as an explanation of what is the wizard’s “magic source” in this universe. Is stuff like this something you guys usually plan beforehand in worldbuilding or was this an extra step done for Anthem?

Tastydoomtime

A quick statement before my question I feel like the witch light crew would make a great landscaping company the only elaboration I'll offer is gricko is the one they make pick up the trash, now my question if you had to do an invincible war in a campaign which one would it be? And which character would be the target of the multiversel smear campaign? For those who don't know in the show invincible a guy makes portals and brings multiple versions of the main character to fuck up his life

RailRunner66

would Ziggy use the ship to mine hypercoin?

Kevin Cohen

Why do you all reference Viking when talking about skills your characters are good at?

Sharkpup.exe

Where does SDR play into the timeline of LOA

Pineneedles

Yeeees! Mikey is back! When pike mentioned his prison buddy again it was immediately confirmed to me we would get a badass female pc

Kyle Hutchings

Is Ziggy's favorite drink Jolt Cola, the soft drink of the elite hacker?

CodingZerp

To clarify, was Ko's art also drawn by DrKav?

Byrnikins

Would you ever consider writing a space campaign setting given the work that have been put into Stardust?

Hufflehotty

What is your favorite sifi space ship

Nicholas Urenha

To complement because of a previously answered question about hard sci-fi: I think this amount of “explanation” is perfect for this, there’s no need to know the scientifical nitty-gritty.

MusicalDealer

What would be the stardust’s crew’s favorite song or music genre?

OpalEye 42

I haven't seen much of Cowboy Beebop, but I have seen other 'sci-fi for non-sci-fi fans.' Are any of you fans of Red Dwarf and/or the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and, if so, has any of that influenced your work?

SorenSilverblade

What is each character’s favorite packaged space ration meal?

Symphony

Not a question, but I just wanted to say that I love the amount of strong women that you have in your campaigns in both PCs and NPCs (especially with a mostly male crew) Can’t wait to see what this session has in store!

Prince F-8

what type of arcade machine would your pc be or play?

OpalEye 42

What kind of saurian does Silica take to form of?

Clone Andy

Watching Mikey play Ko has revealed a fear I didn’t know I had. I am now terrified of females that have the body language of Mikey.

Watchmaker101

TLDR: If I am going through Prime what how should I be watching and listening to get all the deep lore stuff so I can fully understand the other campaigns and pick up on all the lore drops and references that make you all so excited. ORIGINAL QUESTION. Not SDR related but, I am going through Prime right now (20 eps in) and then I want to branch into the darker more lore heavy campaigns. Witchlight was my first campaign (so hyped its coming back!!!) and I am current on Icebound and SDR. What mindset should I have watching Prime and what order should I do the darker campaigns if the deep lore itch is what I am here to scratch. WL and Icebound have peaked my interest with the lore drops and the player reactions and uncovering the mysteries and ancient powers is my favorite part of the Avantris world!

Clone Andy

I am really liking Ko. Mikey is playing a character that so far has their goofiness subdued.

Keith Hanson

What is your favorite spaceship from a sci-fi property?

Byrnikins

If any of your other characters existed in Stardust Rhapsody what race/class would they be and what would they do as jobs?

Byrnikins

Any plans for more Stardust Rhapsody merch?

leperdpaw L.

Would Ziggy play mortal kombat or street fighter?

TeacupTheBopcaJournalist

Is KO your new character, Mikey, or are you planning on having a new character every 2 sessions? Also KO is a wonderful character and reminds me of a lot of my punk lesbian friends.

Fancy Frogmouth

If Ko had gone to Drakkar instead of Space what would be the major differences?

Coffee Is For The Strong

The current setting is evoking some FF7 vibes (loving it). Is that intentional?

Vasilios Zanakis

Have you guys ever read the A Song of Ice and Fire series or only seen the show? If you’ve read and seen both, which do you like better? Do you think the next book in the series will come out any time soon?

Fancy Frogmouth

Since I missed asking about her since I did not know she existed. And I am sure she would be a blue Kriketot 😂

Clone Andy

I see Pyle as a Micheal Hutchinson type front man. Pyle would absolutely break out the sax solo on Whatcha Need.

Prince F-8

SPOILERS FOR PRIME!!!! is the red line drug inspired by one of the drugs plauging agwe in prime? i cant remember the specific name of the drug from the campaign but it was aswell red and has the same side effects as red line.

TeacupTheBopcaJournalist

Will we ever be able to have access to these homebrew species and subclasses?

Kyle Hutchings

Is there plan to release the lineages and subclasses for Stardust Rhapsody?

Cobalt Bluewaters

If yours characters were able to design their own space ship, no limits, how would they design and decorate it?

SpriteofGaia

Mace my brother in DnD I need to know can the old lady be trusted? If OUAW has taught me anything cookies and old ladies shouldn't be trusted

Amazon_Jayde

Now that we know that the whole first season was just a story, what do we think was up with Perfect Jackson? Did he spawn from something else that really happened, and Pyke just changed his story to protect him like he did with the others, or did he never exist at all, and Pyke just included him because he thought it would be fun?

Snappy

Was the cricket always planned, or did y'all add that as a result of The Incident?

BacconntheBard

Just Joined Pearl Dolphin!!!! If the crew could choose any fantasy character to train their skills with, who would they choose?

OpalEye 42

What would be on your personal heraldic arms?

Ice Box

Every time someone mentions Ko’s weapon, I hear it as “Kana-Bō”, and picture Ko wielding a petrified Kana from CoS as a giant bat lol

Vasilios Zanakis

Not a question or a troll for my last question, but I just finished the 5th book yesterday and I haven’t watched the show at all! From what I’ve heard, GRRM is relatively close to finishing the 6th book… but it has been 9 years since it’s been initially expected to release. Anyway Valar Morghulis!

Jacky_alltrades

Who did the new intro video? And how much fun was doing a whole separate version without Ko, lol

MusicalDealer

AS AN ARTIST WHO STRUGGLES WITH HEIGHTS!! What’s the crews canon heights? I definitely don’t need it as a reference….

Vasilios Zanakis

There’s actually an interactive map of ASOIAF that spans through books 1-5 and the sample chapters from book 6, as well as each of the seasons from the show. It covers the pathing of many of the main characters, the constituencies of Westeros, and all of the Nobility of Westeros, so you can see all of the banners from each of the houses and clans on the continent. If you’re interested, the link is: quartermaester.info

InvertedRain

I just download the PDF of the Crooked Moon and HOLY MOLY Yall weren't kidding about how good this book is. I am running a horror one shot on Monday, what would you recommend for setting the mood for a first time DMing Horror?

Cobalt Bluewaters

If your characters were movie producers/directors, what kind of movie would they make? Would it be any good?

Dawktor

Would pyke's hair be more....hair? Textured or would it be more magic / candy floss (cotton candy) textured?

Jacky_alltrades

Mikey/Derek: how has it been roleplaying more serious moments as Ko and Ziggy? (Richie/Andy: has it been easier to roleplay *with* these characters?)

DunceMars

I have been reading through Crooked Moon, any tips for voicing any of the characters from EOM

Owl9985

i just wanted to say that i fell in love with DND because of you guys. You're doing a great job!

Keelay42

What kind of keyboard is Derek using for Ziggy? the clickety clacks are very satisfying! Also what is Derek's favorite reference or piece of jargon he's used today?

Raeyth__

Just got my Pearl Membership. This one is mostly for Mace, but can be everyone. You guys talked about the collaborative process of writing for Stardust Rhapsody last time. Is it like that for all of the Avantris campaigns, or are most them just written by the DM and the players are completely blind to everything during the campaign?

Raeyth__

I agree, that's such a satisfying clickety clack sound.

dibble

Since Leboosh is out of the running, what was Mace planning with when he asked Derek for his natural rolls throughout overture? If you're comfortable answering, of course. I don't quite recall if it was ever revealed.

InvertedRain

I am absolutely in love with this new party dynamic! What pairing dynamic turned out better than you expected? Which ones are you excited to explore more?

Fancy Frogmouth

I got one last question. Are you all afraid you feed us too well? Because holy crap are us viewers feasting!

SorenSilverblade

If your Stardust characters were all sentient weapons, what would they be?

SorenSilverblade

It may be my imagination, but I’m hearing notes of Caprice in Ziggy’s voice. Thoughts?

Jacky_alltrades

Is this the longest stream you've ever done?

Cobalt Bluewaters

What would your characters guilt pleasure/ secret hobby be?

SorenSilverblade

What would happen if the Stardust crew ran into their evil doubles (like in 13 beers at the local cheese?)

Jacky_alltrades

Very important question: is the Keurig machine on the Rhapsody canon or not??

Dkay

I can't wait for some of they're other campaigns

Vasilios Zanakis

I did that connection thing between each character Mikey had mentioned literally 30 minutes ago for them in my head, and I agree it fits so perfectly with each other!

GRIMM

it’s so enjoyable to see you guys play characters you really enjoy, i can almost feel the actual vibe of the room and it makes it 100x better to actually watch! <3

Trepaura

I love how much variety you guys have in your campaigns. Witchlight is really great, but it's also really nice to enjoy a campaign with such a refreshingly different tone to it. I especially love the music you guys have playing. Also, the SB email parody, "Gavir is not dead", was awesome.

Trepaura

An actual question, what's your guys process for adding music to your games? What do you guys think is the most important thing to make helps set the tone of a scene, without being distracting?

A Bagel Plays

Straight up, I am fiending for these subclasses and species, the rules seem so dope, and I desperately want to use them. Will there be a rule release for the species and subclasses of Stardust Rhapsody, both overture and anthem?
