Hello Dear Patrons! The crew had an AMAZING time at PaxU this weekend and you know what that means! I HAVE BEEN ABANDONED AGAIN! I am sad and lonely so what better way to spend my time then to finally listen to all of you lovely patrons and play some Sims. With a Sims addiction I shall never be lonely again! Or so I am told. Join me TONIGHT at 7:30 pm ET for some chill gaming and keep me company while I explore the Sims for the first time. If you have a favorite expansion pack or a recommendation for the Sims 4 please leave them below as I have no idea what I am doing! See you all TONIGHT!!

I'm imagining some of the gang's characters as Sims, and the shenanigans that'd ensue. Don't recall if there's a monster/animal character set, but I'm sure you can make something work either way. Maybe Gricko will finally be tall? 😂

I can pretty much recommend all of the packs (especially at these sale prices) except for the Fairy pack, the Wedding pack, and the Star Wars pack. Those three are buggy and repetitive or replace a built in function of the game with a much worse version. Can't wait!

Sims has been my comfort game my whole life. I highly, HIGHLY recommend that you enable cheats. Most folk do.

As much as I love it, the game business model is a bit…extortionate. Many features behind pay walls now were base game in previous versions, and the prices are steep for inconsistent returns. Gahhhh but I’m hooked.

As for what packs to choose, it’s easier to decide once you know if you like gameplay, creating Sims, or building. You get the most of all three with the (pricier) Expansion Packs (teal icon), and earlier created modules like Get to Work, Seasons, Get Together, Cats and Dogs, etc tend to be less stingy in the amount of content given. The smaller, cheaper Game Packs (dark blue icon) tend to have a narrower focus, but they provide some of my favorite and most flavorful content. Both categories provide a new world/map, a lot of aesthetic items, and big changes to game play. I personally love the magic themed ones, Cottage Living, and Jungle Adventure. Luckily, there’s a lot to start with, just in base game. The game is rich in hidden quirks and lore; just reading object descriptions can be a hoot. Exploring on foot will reveal rabbit holes and collectible resources. You have a few base game worlds (maps). You can be a PlantSim!

Oooh! I remember mentioning Sims a few weeks ago, that's so cool you're going to try it out!! A lot of the packs are very fun. There are different size packs. Expansion packs are the largest and most expensive but add a lot more to the game play. Game packs are mid size and cheaper and add a lot of new features or systems but not as much as an Expansion pack. There are also kits and mini packs that add tiny details like specific clothing styles or decor items. Without knowing your gaming style in Sims (if you are more keen to design and build, or do clothing and creating Sims, or storytelling, or what esthetics you prefer) it's hard to recommend. There are game packs for magic, werewolves, vampires, and strangerville that I think are all very fun! There is the crystal creations stuff packs (smaller than a game pack) that lets you grow crystals and make jewelry which is cool. The paranormal stuff pack is also pretty fun for some spooky stuffs. As far as full expansion packs go while I haven't played it personally I've heard the new Adventures Await pack is really fun and lets you go to summer camps and lake getaways. Enchanted by Nature has fairies and mushrooms. Cottage living has really great decor items and lets you have chickens. Cats and dogs is the best one to have pets. Lots to choose from! I hope this helps!

I think an awesome starter pack for you, Nikkie, would be Realm of Magic. MAGIC!!! Enchanted by Nature is also magical, but buggier and narrower. In Realm of Magic, you get two worlds, a spellcaster occult (the "race" of Sim you can be), amazing aesthetics in building and create-a-sim, three kinds of magic AND alchemy to learn, lots of skill activities for your Sim to learn and do, adorable familiars, and years of trouble shooting already done. Additional Nikkie coded packs are Cats and Dogs and Cottage Living. Also, Get to work provides active careers instead of rabbit holes with choice prompts.

Ooh the Sims! I always preferred the Sims 3 because I liked to make my Sims explore the open world areas, but the Sims 4 character creator is a lot more fun.

If I thought it wouldn't take awhile to do I'd suggest making sim versions of the entire cast just to see what Nikkie would create - hopefully abominations, cause then I'd giggle.

Finally a game I have some knowledge about! Hehe I’m a SIMS 4 addict! I’m constantly having game function problems due to the sheer amount of CC I have lol. But I would recommend to start with getting the Seasons and Pets expansion packs. But you will love the Realm of Magic and Enchanted by Nature would also recommend downloading The MC Command Center. It’s the main cheat MOD and it’s definitely a must! Can’t wait to watch you play!
