That Hobo in Your Basement

Not really a question but Jornir being the problem this time instead of Skrimm is a nice change of pace

Selahattin yılmaz

Would jornir and barnabos call each other kinsman because they are from the same planet? Or is the setting makes sense if they are quite literally the same race?

sybsyy

comment and question! first, i just got my patreon subscription today! I've spent the last 3 and change years laughing, crying, and hating you (with love), watching literally every single free thing you guys have. Gotta platinum it. A lot of the listening i've done recently has been the podcast, which leads to my question. I'm assuming the answer will be no because of the audio issues/qualities, but would you ever put Prime on the podcast? Im halfway through my second watch through and been thinking about that since i finished the first watch through!

Christopher Hewett

Hi, huge fan. My question is, what kind of creatures will you encounter during the campaign? And what is your favorite thing about the character the character you came up with

[REDACTED]

Good evening, lady and gentlemen. Happy space horror. Hope you are well. I seem to remember that 2 out of 6 of you raise either chinchillas or children- leaning towards children, but best to hedge one's bets- and are therefore in the position to answer a question that has puzzled researchers for decades: is the fatherly need to rearrange the dishes in the dishwasher what with Everyone Else In This House Loading The Damn Thing Wrong, What Were You THINKING an instinct that was *always* there, or does it only develop *after* offspring?

Christopher Hewett

What would void bond mcdonald's order b for each character

Rachel

Just a world building question. But is there a star trek union like entity in the neon universe? (exporing the final frontier and discovering new worlds ect.) Or would the order from waltz be the closest form of that? I love star trek and think that would be so fun to play.

JessDM

Most OP build with the new classes/subclasses in neon odyssey? Or are you finding things pretty balanced? I’m slowing convincing my husband and his friends to let me DM for them and would love to do it with neon! (They would be first time players and I first time DM!)

VirtualSkald

Hey this has been amazing! How do you guys, as dms and players, go about filling up your creative tank between sessions?

Heart

One of my favorite science fiction horror films will always be 'The Thing'. Knowing it's one of Derek's makes Voidbound one of my most anticipated campaigns from this kickstarter, and I'm not disappointed

InfinightMage

What was the song that you used for the intro sequence, and is it available to stream anywhere? It's been stuck in my head for the last few days lol

Macho Taco

Do poggles like fruit and possibly hang upside down for long periods of time?

Lunaire Fae Celestine

I'm newer to patron and was wondering will shroud be getting more episodes and when might that be I just got done with it and it's so good I can't wait for more

Eliza

You guys have mentioned before wanting to do cosmic horror and undercity (mean streets of galtica) style campaigns: are those itches being scratched sufficiently by these mini neon-campaigns, or are they still themes you think you'd like to return to?

Cobalt Bluewaters

If your characters could only live one season (ex, summer) permanently, which would fit them?

beccasocks

Which of the Neon Odyssey campaigns is your favorite, and why is it either Waltz for Eternity or Void bound?

SorenSilverblade

What does the Q.S.S. in Ozimandios stand for?

Little Press On The Prairie

If you could create a Podracer with Odyssey species/ classes, which would you chose and would DJ Krazy Kool be the Ben Quadrinaros? (Obviously he would tho)

Lunar

If you were to shuffle the spinoff crew around which crew would still fit the theme? Ex. What would the SL crew look like in the voidbound campaign, SL in uprootarama etc?)

Dagfell22

For Nikki if you got to come up with a pc for waltz who would they be?

Craft_Eledritch

If we get to level 60 will Andy dye ... ... ... his hair to look like Pyke's?

cosh

I apologize if this has already been addressed, but what was the process like re-skinning your characters for these Neon Odyssey spin-offs?

TheSillyIlithid

What have been the mechanical differences for your characters played in the Neon Odyssey setting? Likes- Dislikes?

oofi de gamer

Is it possible to get any singular neon odyssey dice set in the kickstarter? (Not the free vip dice or the early backer dice)

Lord Nyrod

In Voidbound, what do you think your characters' counterparts would be? Would they be a different race, class or something else entirely?

WhyThough?

What's the relationship between the 4 types of cacophonous? Do they get along? Would different kinds of cacophonous work together?

Cassandra Poulish

When can we expect an Andy and Muppet Gary sponsor ad promoting Neon Odyssey?

Aly Bri

Were there any mechanics or classes that you were super pumped to get converted into Neon and were there any that you found more difficult to reskin or was it all about the same difficulty?

JackTheMurph

Little off topic, and I might be blind but I need someone to explain it to me like I'm 5. How do I access the book nook/info, and what's the name of the discord channel? Idk if I'm dumb, or having technical issues.

Fulcrum2077

Can I Klarna the Obsidian Nightmare tier?

Kidstar224

What’s your favorite parts about these new versions of your characters then in the original?

Zeth Djragoz

The obsidian nightmare tier should have to pay 6$ every time someone says “That’s very funny”

Mr.Red_Guy

In the among the stars animation is the main guy just Andy cause it looks like him

Kayden Hale

What are your guy's favorite things that you have revealed

Ms. Liz

Are we going to get a state block for my favorite monster, The Homunculus?

Ms. Liz

dude, I would go broke so fast lol

Bierhalter

Can we expect to get the background music from the Voidbound intro? I need to listen to this for 10 hours on loop

Stardust678

As someone who cant see the live streams but wants to be furrher imersed in neon odyssey im wondering when voidbound ep 1, once upon a star light, and the rest of uproot a Rama will make it to the unedited spreadsheet? I know yall are busy with the Kickstarter but it's been a month.

Zansi

How would your characters like to celebrate their birthday?

RedHarengon

Not really a question, but a response to something Mikey said in the pre-show. You guys have been my "inhale". I was in a bit of a low point and finding your streams and community has helped me so much, so thank you for creating something so joyful. It's what I've been missing for some time.

Nemsoulus Soul

After seeing the 26K VIP peek, I can't help but wonder how to make companion creatures such as familiars and mounts. My goal is to homebrew a set of 15 Familiars of the size range of small to large with specializations to fulfill that arctypes of caster, brawler, and defender. how do you balance them? To make it easier for you, my name is pronounced Nem-Soul-Less.

Keelay42

Question from BacterialFun: With having Sci-Fi in development, and having developed the folklore/horror genre of Crooked moon, what other genres are the crew interested in for future projects? Would something like steampunk or frostpunk be something they'd be willing to explore in the future?

Mothem

Hey Derek! Different campaign, but I got the Bitsy tattoo yesterday! Sent a pic to y’all’s insta and to Shoo - hope it does her justice!

SassMasterJM

Are you guys going to catch The Midnight when they come near you?

InvertedRain

What is your favorite thing about Poggles that you can share?

Zeth Djragoz

There are so many species within NO, what’s your favorite species you’ve created?

Dodoazoogee

You are currently playing 5 campaigns at the same time very consistently. Do you ever struggle separating characters from each other? Is there something specific you do to say “today I’m playing Waltz PC and not Starlight PC”

Brandon Bills

Have you tried monster import 18.6 oz?

FroyosCrafts

When NO comes out I really want to make a lobster looking character and was curious what species would work best for that?

FreeHugs

Y'all have talked about what makes neon Odyssey unique and worthwhile as its own thing even though other science, fantasy games and supplements exist. I started working on a Sci-Fi setting and system a few months before NO came out and I just heard that Traveler 5e is In development. My question for you is, what helped you to differentiate what you were doing from what already existed or was in development And how might I do that myself?

ForeverLadonna

Long shot question: Rich said prior to Crooked Moon he asked Mikey about what sort of thing he would like to do (for a DND project). Rich said Mikey's idea was nuts and they were just doing the crooked house and the crooked moon. My question is: Are we seeing any of that original Mikey idea in Neon Odyssey or is that still a future project?

FaeLarae

I run a D&D club for middle schoolers— if I could pass on one piece of advice for my students that are homebrewing/world creating, what do you think is the first thing they should remember?

artandsandwiches

question for neon odyssey: can gorgonites cut their hair tendrils?

Lunaire Fae Celestine

Do you guys think you would ever have your campaigns made into an animated show like critical role did with vox machina and now the mighty nien and if so what campaigns would each of you like to see as a show the most

artandsandwiches

follow up, do they grow back if they are cut?

InvertedRain

How nice is it to not have to change the GM backdrop for these campaigns?

Brandon Bills

My son watches you guys with me hes super excited about a dinosaur character can you elaborate?

Onyx Gemstone

Any advice for starting a NO campaign with brand new people? like i know nothing about the other players and the dm, never played with them before either

Nordicmoose855

Do you guys have a favorite mind jumbling movie mine is triangle

Rachel

What is the gangs favorite si-fi TV show?

Garrett House

What horror movie really screwed you guys up growing up. Mine was the Orphan one where it turns out the little girl turns out to be like 25-30 years old and starts killing people.

Joules

You mentioned there wouldn't be race bias between species, but would there be when it comes to species Vs governments? like the Empire not being fond of saurians because of the war- or is that too real?

Joules

Possible theory, is Project Hemisphere a project involving the setting created by Derek for Icebound? esp considering hemisphere means half of the worth, ergo the very bottom (and maybe very top of) the artic areas of Avantris?

Joules

If you were to play an entire party of DIFFERENT dragonborn, which ones would you choose? Alternatively, perhaps genasi?

Joules

Are there other Named planets with multiple races on it besides the one Starlight takes place in? Is that the only planet segregated by class like that?

Ryan McCray

I'm not sure how this would work, but I think a cool encounter could be something with the omnitrix and ben 10

oofi de gamer

So i can add on physical dice to a pdf of a book, do add ons count as a physical item for the free dice or or do add ons dont count?

Joules

Do you have any "tails" of favorite pets over the years? How are your current pets doing?

Joules

Do you have a possible idea of how much the full trilogy will cost? Should we start saving soon?

Drunkenhobo9d

Holy crap listening to this while playing starRupture the sound track to this game has been on point for what's going on

Ms. Liz

McPuggy_Nuggies said in chat that "Jornir talking about timelines makes me think he's multiuniversal and can hop into Alternate Timelines. Or see into them, much like Dr Strange, but just more religion based rather than magic" Are they correct? Can he see into timelines and go all Dr. Strange? If so that is AMAZING

Cobalt Bluewaters

Just a question out of curiosity. When Jornir talks, do you see his mouth moving? Is it fully hidden behind his face tentacles and his voice just seems to project, or do his face tentacles kind of just, move slightly, or “twitch” for lack of a better word, as his mouth/jaw moves to speak?

Ihatethewordfate

I believe Derek mentioned that the kaleidoscope like image in the intro was a creature that he flipped and inverted. Is that the obsidian nightmare shrimp that Delphina's father was operating on?

drainabyte

Kurt Vonnegut is one of my favorite writers, and "Slaughterhouse-Five" is a science fiction masterpiece. Great reference for the Ozymandias' AI.

Joules

Does Voidbound have inspiration from Annihilation?

Shadowofthemist104

How do the characters view each other both as people and as members of the crew?

Jacky_alltrades

Derek: in After Effects, have you tried rendering to an image sequence, and THEN rendering that to video? (instead of rendering straight to video). It saves a BUNCH of fuss when making minor changes or re-rendering!

pomegranate_poser

If your character had a sandwich/sub named after them, what would its name be and what would be in it?

Chaos

As a viewer, watching is such a particularly unique experience. What is the experience like as players being in this form of cosmic horror setting?

Zack F

Neon Odyssey has gotten us through some very hard times in the past month, so thank you. We will also be on our honeymoon in May, but will be 100% backing the second it goes live. Would you allow the making of a custom smartwatch clock face with your artwork as long as we give you art credit?

Gabbi Courtright

Where is Richie's religious/cryptic speech inspired from? I understand the actual lore comes from the Neon Odyssey universe but how does he get into that kind of head space and is he inspired by anything specific? Even outside of this campaign, he plays characters like this so well!!!

pomegranate_poser

What is your favorite example of cosmic horror in any medium (flim, book, etc.)?

Kyle Hutchings

There is a tattered notebook of Jornir's poetry from highschool somewhere, that is so heinous, if ever read aloud it would rip the universe in twain.

InvertedRain

What has been your favorite thing about your subclass?

Kayden Hale

Whats your favorite kind of cheese

Mr. Bubbles

What is the difference between Cosmic horror and Eldritch Horror?

Brandon Bills

Rich your characters voice sounds like hes from Skyrim true or false?

Kuro

I loved the Sea Shanty, but it begs the questions... does Barnabos know any SPACE shanties?

Brandon Bills

I signed up for the Kickstarter are physical/digital purchases available yet or no?

Garrett House

Are any of you guys left handed?

Lio Péz

Since Barnabos was in the blood fleat did he meet shitmouth shitjaws or any of his ancestors, and if he did, did he call him Mr shitjaws or Mr jaws

Jacky_alltrades

did... did Richie say that Jornir's spirit guardians caused *necrotic* damage...? Oh.

Splendid

Somehow I feel like Ygors Homunculus has a hand in this madness.

DarkSniper1230

Derek I only have one question. What the hell?

Aquariusmoon295

Do you have any theories about how an evil AI could infect basically all of the passengers? Or do you think those are two unrelated separate issues?
