Spooky times are finally here!!! We've got some very special stuff planned for this month, so let's start with this month's big announcements:

Witchlight, Edge of Midnight, and the Honk Legion!

First, a quick campaign update! Earlier this year, we shared that both Once Upon a Witchlight and Edge of Midnight were planned to return this year. Over the past month, Nikkie has had to devote a lot of time and attention to some unexpected pet emergencies at home, which has made it difficult to give either campaign the preparation they deserve. Rather than rush them back before we’re ready, both campaigns will now be returning next year.

We’re currently planning to bring Once Upon a Witchlight back in the first few months of 2027. Edge of Midnight will also return in 2027, although we’re not ready to announce its timing yet.

We do, however, have a little Witchlight-shaped surprise for October... The Ghostlight incarnations of the carnival crew are playing The Honk Legion! Get honkin' hyped!

Stardust Rhapsody: Anthem

The stars didn't align last month, so this October we'll be playing TWO full Saturdays of our sci-fi D&D campaign featuring Pyke and the rest of the Rhapsody crew as we sail through the aether!

Patreon Updates

We wrapped up September with yet another positively toothsome Witchlight familiar, exclusive to Pearl Dolphin patrons and higher, the Shadow Alligator. Be sure to check him out now, with more Witchlight familiars still to come!

Meanwhile, we've also got an absolutely massive exclusive bundle dropping in the very near future. Keep an eye out THIS WEEK for that to be uprooted... as well as a VERY special boss fight closer to Halloween!

Additionally, October is also the perfect time to announce a new exclusive TTRPG content series we'll be dropping! Long ago, when we wrote The Crooked Moon, our original plan for the Fabled Heirlooms that ended up in the book were the Artifacts of Anathema. Starting this month, we'll be releasing one of those magic items in its original form every month for Pearl Dolphin+ patrons!

October Schedule

Stardust Rhapsody Anthem: October 3rd, October 24th @ 2 pm ET

Honk Legion: October 7th, October 14th, October 21st, October 28th

Icebound: October 9th @ 7:30 pm ET

Patreon Events

Avantris Plays: October 6th, October 12th, October 19th, October 26th @ 7:30 pm ET

Scarab+ Virtual Studio Hangout: October 11th @ 7:30 pm ET

Scarab+ Movie Night: October 16th @ 7:30 pm ET - Frankenstein (2025)

Nikkie's Nook - Book Chat: October 25th @ 7 pm ET - Nettle and Bone by T. Kingfisher and The Knave and the Moon by Rachel Gillig (Book 2 in the Stonewater Kingdom Duology)

Thank you!

We so appreciate your support each and every month, and especially as we settle into Fall with fun and spookiness. We hope you have a great October, and we'll see you at the table!

Firstly, I hope the babies have gotten better. Sad news about the campaigns delayed but I totally understand.

I hope on one of the Avantris plays days, Nikkie or Derek plays Dressmaker. I really want to see Nikkie play it but Derek trying out would be amazing 🤣

I have to admit I am disappointed that this year's Patreon additions seem to consist solely of designed characters/items/bosses/etc for people to add to a D&D campaign. I get it that you guys are also publishers as of the last few years, but I would think that for the majority of us they offer little value. The only people who can use them are either DMs themselves who specifically are running campaigns where these little content bits are applicable, or a player is in a campaign with a DM who somehow wants their players to contribute content (which I personally have not heard of but could definitely exist I suppose). I know that time and effort and care is put into making these creations and their artwork, I'm not denying the efforts nor creativity. And for those who can and do use them, I'm sure they enjoy and appreciate them. But I heard you guys croon repeatedly earlier this year that new things were coming to the Patreon to make it even more enticing and higher value, yet - unless I've missed something else which is possible - this is all I've seen as the 'new and different offerings' (of course in addition to all the cool things the Patreon already had). Only but a few years ago we had extra, unique, ongoing campaigns that only Patreon members could watch and listen to - THAT was really cool, THAT was what made me originally sign up. But you guys stopped making them, and while the old content can still be enjoyed, there is no longer unique ongoing campaigns just for Patreon which was such an amazing aspect. It was something that I (and I'm sure many others) loved and saw much value in, and the replacement was these bits and bobs for a DM to put in a campaign. To me it was a loss of a high value, unique perk that was enticing to probably majority of folks (anyone who enjoys watching you guys play), replaced by something completely different and only usable to a small subset. I know that time and energy are the main reasons for the unique campaigns halting, that you guys are running a business and making the books and that streaming is time consuming and tiring. But when I heard repeated promises of many new things coming to the Patreon to give it even more value, I'm wondering if there's something else planned, or if these D&D bits are basically it. Please don't interpret this as me not acknowledging the other amazing things the Patreon offers - there are MANY great offerings in the Patreon of high value and interest that are very cool and very wonderful! I am focusing specifically on how the characters/items/bosses are not really of much use to a lot of us (again, I still acknowledge the effort and creativity into producing them and that others DO likely love using them), and wondering if additional things are still in the works as promised earlier in the year repeatedly about Patreon additions/changes. ♡

This sadly is the same thoughts ive had. I really enjoyed the other campaigns and wish to see them return. I do fully understand they take a lot of time and energy to run but I do hope they return to doing some sooner or later.

They've been pretty transparent in their recent streams that the patreon exclusive campaigns won't be coming back in the same manner they were coming out before, and that they're looking for solutions to that. I'd honestly be pretty okay with them making the two patreon exclusive campaigns public personally as I think more people watching them is a good thing, but I understand that it brings down the value of the patreon so we'll see what they do.
