Revenge with entrance music. No other changes aside from ROM, RAM and file table expansion for modders. Play on emulators, Summercart64 and Everdrive X series with OS-V3.11

I don't plan to make a huge Revenge project, I'll leave that for others. This was just a quick idea I've had for a while and figured out the other day how to make it happen. Now, time to get back to working on Backlash!

Crazy timing on this drop 24 hours before Ssark drops WCW Starcade..which is a direct sequel to revenge

R R

Hope Ssark can do an update to add the themes. This is awesome!

Retro Randy Price

I was chatting with him about it. He does plan to include themes later on.

Skame44

Me and my boy used to play the hell out of the og back in the day. Sadly, we lost him yesterday. He would have loved this

R R

Frederick Laguardia

I’m either playing this or the new Lego Batman when I get home. So many games, so little time…

Adam Bishop

Awesome! Does the patch also provide all the unlocks? Would be nice to replace the current 'unlocked' rom. Thanks my dude!

David Hillenbrand

Adam Bishop

M. Kanne

Not only that this is absolutely awesome, I also love the fact that there are alternate themes for the different attires. Thank you sooo much 🫶

Ralph Carlock

Hulk Hogan Voodoo Child Slight Return and American Made for the third attire the classic Red & Yellow so epic so immersive, Thank You Retro Randy Price

Retro Randy Price

Can’t be perfect man. It’s either slightly sharp or flat, just the way converting to an N64 works sometimes.

Retro Randy Price

Sometimes when editing the soundbanks on n64, the pitch changes slightly.

BakaBakaBaka

dude thank u i have wanted this for so long just to have the base game with the actual music

Apacaveli96

its dope played a few matches already heard Goldbergs entrance theme Bret Harts entrance theme and Hollywood Hogans entrance theme 2 Sweet lol 😝

Jeffrey LaSalle

Too bad wrestler themes don't play during the replay screen after the match. But honestly, this is still awesome and very much appreciated!

tutrufman

Omg I’ve been waiting for a mod of this game that adds entrance music for so long thank you so much.

Rico Group Fitness

Freaking legend bro you rock thank you so much this is perfect

Andrew (SHUNNED)

How can I get this to work on OpenEmu for Mac?

FourCoOpCore

Wow, Randy should change his name into AKI Man

sg 85

no i mean the ingame soundtrack. like the bgm

M. Kanne

But who would be THQ Man? 😁

Retro Randy Price

They do play in Everdrive’s new OS now. That was the only thing making it incompatible.

Retro Randy Price

I don’t have either so I can’t say for sure. Delta emu works on iPhone. Maybe try that in Mac?

Andrew (SHUNNED)

I actually just figured it out. If anybody else uses OpenEmu on Mac once you do the patch, simply open the ROM on OpenEmu & it works perfectly. Thank you for making this!

Magnus_Superior

Incredible update to an already awesome game 🔥

JCROW21

just drop it in

DJ Dana G

Wayward Legacy

Man I love that you added Bret’s best WCW theme and Hogan coming out to Voodoo Child is epic! This was something I always wanted for this game. Thanks for everything you do, Randy!

Terry Thomas

May I add that I marked out for Mortis!

David Molloy

I’ve been dreaming of this since 1998 lol. Makes the game complete. Amazing Thankyou

AKI Forever: Why No Wrestling Games Have Ever Topped the Nintendo 64 Classics There are newer wrestling games. There are prettier wrestling games. There are wrestling games with larger rosters, realistic lighting, detailed entrances and endless online modes. Yet nearly thirty years later, I still find myself loading up the AKI wrestling games on the Nintendo 64 for “just one more match.” And that one match almost always becomes several. For many wrestling fans of a certain generation, games like WCW/nWo Revenge, WWF WrestleMania 2000 and WWF No Mercy were more than simply video games. They were comfort food. Ritual. Muscle memory. They represented a period when wrestling games understood one thing above all else: fun mattered more than spectacle. Modern wrestling titles often feel exhausted by their own ambition. Before a match even begins there are updates to install, menus to navigate, servers to connect to and endless presentation layers to sit through. Everything feels slower, heavier and strangely less alive. The AKI games were the complete opposite. You turned on the Nintendo 64, selected your wrestler and within seconds the bell rang. No nonsense. No waiting. The games respected your time and trusted the gameplay to carry the experience. And that gameplay still feels unmatched. The AKI engine captured the rhythm of professional wrestling better than any simulation that followed. Matches flowed naturally. Momentum shifted organically. Grapples felt deliberate. Reversals felt earned. Multiplayer bouts became beautiful chaos filled with steel chairs, desperate pin breakups and last-second kickouts that still create genuine excitement decades later. Most importantly, the games had soul. You could feel it in the pacing, the chunky animations and the crowd noise. The controls were simple enough for anyone to pick up immediately, yet underneath sat remarkable depth. Every player developed their own style, their own rivalries and their own memories. I have been playing these games since 1998 and, remarkably, they still form part of my weekly routine. Thanks to modern emulation, I now carry them around on my iPhone and iPad using the Delta emulator, sometimes using touch controls and other times pairing a Nintendo Switch N64 Bluetooth controller that recreates the original feeling almost perfectly. What amazes me most is that the games themselves continue to evolve. For years fans imagined what these titles could have been without the technical and licensing limitations of the late 1990s. Today, ROM hacking communities have turned those dreams into reality. Rosters are updated. Arenas are rebuilt. New textures, moves and features continue appearing long after the original developers moved on. And nowhere is that more impressive than with WCW/nWo Revenge Redux. Of all the AKI titles, Revenge has always been my personal favourite. Later games added more features and expanded the formula, but Revenge captured the atmosphere of late-1990s WCW perfectly. AKI somehow bottled the chaotic energy of Nitro and turned it into a cartridge. The arenas felt alive. The roster felt authentic. Every match carried that gritty WCW identity that defined the Monday Night Wars. But for all its greatness, something always felt missing: the entrance themes. Back in 1998, technical limitations and licensing restrictions prevented the game from using the authentic music fans associated with those wrestlers. We accepted it at the time because the gameplay itself was revolutionary, but every fan imagined how incredible it would feel hearing the real themes during entrances. Now, thanks to Randy and the ROM hacking community, that dream has finally become reality. WCW/nWo Revenge Redux restores authentic entrance themes and, astonishingly, it completely transforms the experience. The moment those themes begin playing, the game suddenly feels complete in a way I never thought possible. It no longer feels like a retro game being modified by fans. It feels like the version we imagined as kids sitting cross-legged in front of CRT televisions during the Monday Night Wars. That is the beauty of these fan communities. While the modern games industry chases live services, monetisation systems and endless updates, passionate fans are quietly preserving the games that meant something to them. These modders are not simply editing textures or changing roster names; they are preserving wrestling history. And the AKI library itself remains extraordinary. Many fans consider Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 the true technical masterpiece of the series, and they are probably right. From a pure gameplay perspective, it may well represent the AKI engine at its absolute peak, with smoother animations, incredible pacing and astonishing move variety. Meanwhile, WWF No Mercy expanded the formula with larger rosters, deeper creation systems and long-requested features like championship entrances. For many players, it remains the definitive wrestling game. But for me, nothing will ever top WCW/nWo Revenge. I still remember seeing it for the first time at a friend’s house while I was playing games like WWF War Zone on the original PlayStation. At the time, War Zone looked realistic and impressive, but actually playing it often felt clunky. Basic moves required complicated button combinations and pulling off finishers sometimes felt harder than winning the match itself. Then I played Revenge. Simple grapples. Smooth gameplay. Fast action. Easy controls. And then my friend casually told me to wiggle the stick to hit a finisher. That was it. I was completely sold. From that moment onwards, I fell in love not only with WCW/nWo Revenge, but with the AKI engine itself. No wrestling game before or since has managed to capture that same balance between accessibility and depth. And perhaps that is why these games still endure. They remind us of a time when games loaded instantly, gameplay came first and fun did not need to be monetised or patched into existence months later. In an era obsessed with realism and presentation, these blocky wrestlers on ageing cartridges still manage to capture the feeling of professional wrestling better than almost anything released today. Some games age. Others become timeless.

Retro Randy Price

Nice AI generated comment. At least that's what AI says this is. lol

Ross

my roster is all messed up is this a glitch?

sevin0seven

If the new other mod "Starrcade Edition" and this (Redux) was combined, it would be the ultimate wcw nwo revenge version!

Retro Randy Price

I would guess that you're patching the wrong ROM. Please check the "read me for patch" file included in the download for patching the correct one.

Lonny Bonani

So pleased with the scene right now

Thabang MOTITIMI

Greetings randy, I really don't got money on me I just really like your mods and I don't got the subscription money, so can u like maybe lend it to me for free like the mod, I know this is a hugely weird question but it's just I really like your mods

Frank Jaeger

During end match replay too?

InstntClassic

So, I understand that when I go to https://www.romhacking.net/patch/ that Im supposed to put in the og rom in the first box and then the delta patcher exe in the second but when I do, it just stays grey'd out and won't let me apply the patch. What am I doing wrong here? Any help would be much appreciated 🙏🏼

Retro Randy Price

You don’t put the delta exe in the browser. You use the patch. The exe is for patching on windows.

InstntClassic

So exactly what file in the folder is that? I see summercart, I see the exe and I see the readme. Thanks for your help
