Concept for the expanded backstage area. Increasing the No Mercy backstage areas from 5 to 10. Not to mention the 16 stage areas. There will be a handful of interactions backstage as well.Corridor: back left wall will be interview section. A climbable barrel will be here for player to perform flying attacks.Boiler room: a climbable cage and electrical box on a wall is planned as well. When players are thrown into the electrical box, they'll be electrocuted. Electrocution idea came after finding two unused animations within the No Mercy ROM, where you guessed it, the player is electrocuted. (front and back animations). Wrestlers will be darker in this room. The very left of this room will have an overhead door. When opened and within it's range, the player's brightness will be normal.Any ideas on additional interactions are encouraged.

Sounds amazing, how about going into Gorilla position soon as you go backstage, could be darkly lit and with a table, not sure how possible it would be to have Bruce P/Vince sat there?

I can probably go that route. I’ll make one of the front side areas a gorilla position. No extra people there though.

I think it would be cool if you could pop the door open by throwing your opponent into a switch of some kind

Retro Randy Price

Agreed. I’m thinking an overhead garage door. Probably just throw them into the door rather than a switch.

adding to breakable doors, what about breakable glass panels on the KOTR stage? lol probably not very doable but what a classic moment. one thing that irks me about fighting outside the ring/ backstage is that there's no extra oomph from hitting the floor as opposed to the ring. it'd probably be unbalanced to do it for every area outside the ring, but, i think it'd be cool to see certain areas like the parking lot and street cause extra damage. i think it'd also be cool to see some sort of climbable in the parking lot next to a vehicle/equipment that an opponent can lay on. maybe a fence with a platform on top, so you can either jump off the fence or the platform.

KOTR glass panels are in the plans for sure! As well as more interact-able objects. Things to climb or be thrown into. I think the extra damage floors might be a bit too unbalanced like you said. Maybe just more interact-able things that cause more damage with a limit on them.

Do you worry that there's stuff you can't accomplish? I don't, after seeing your resume... but like... HOW are you going to add double the backstage areas? (Also how the hell did you increase the arena count on Feel The Bang in the first place?)

Retro Randy Price

There are a few limitations lol. The FTB arena count was actually someone else’s code. It might be what made me realize that you can outthink most limitations. Basically take an unused RAM address, code it to be a number between 00-whatever, based on an existing menu selection. Then code the polys and textures for an arena to change based on that number. This thought process can be applied to many things.
