NM Plus will be out within the week. I have other ROM hack projects that are partially done that could be released much sooner than Backlash. What do you prefer? I bring this up because I don't want everyone waiting years empty handed. Especially with all the support. All options are ROM hacked and Everdrive compatible.Backlash needs a lot to be completed. Tons of attires, backstage and entrance modeling, Season mode dialogue and other aspects including the locating and squashing bugs. ETA: sometime in 2024? This is of course designed to be a NM sequel and requires the most time."WCW Starrcade" was near completion before I started on Backlash. This needs a tad more attire edits, stage models and touch ups on menu design. NO backstage on first release. Some new moves with menu and music overhaul but no new match or moveset features. Mostly a NM reskin. ETA: Maybe 2-3 months?"ECW Bound by Blood" was getting close before I started WCW. The textures are a little rough, so they'll need touch ups. Few stage models are needed. Maybe 3 or 4 arenas with players choice of PPV graphics similar to PS1 Acclaim games. MIGHT add barbed wire ropes option. Some new moves with menu and music overhaul but no new match or moveset features. Mostly a NM reskin. ETA: maybe 3 months?I can post a quick progress video of any of these if requested.

I’m thrilled about all of these projects. Even enjoying Fight Forever it doesnt reach AKI level for me. I am more then happy to support your groundbreaking creation of these games playable on our N64s. As a patreon of your work no rush I appreciate the attention to detail you give these projects. If the ECW one is not far off from completion ID LOVE THAT. I became a big ECW fan when I found it Saturday nights midnight on Miami’s local channel WAMI in ‘98 at 11 years old. A lot of people crap on the 2000 roster but its one I watched a ton of and remember fondly. Can you share more on that project? Any ideas for legends previous to that era that can be unlocked or created (would be fun to have Eddy, Benoit, Malenko, Jericho, Rey, Bam Bam Bigelow ECW versions unlockable)

NotDylan

I remember seeing the ECW previews on OSR and drooling over the idea of a good ECW game, so that's what I'm voting for

Andrew Jones

Backlash is the biggy, and whilst its the reason most of us here as the REAL sequel we never got to NM, so more than happy to wait for such a massive project to be done right and with patience and care it deserves, we already have Revenge which really captured WCW at its peak - so personally would happily wait the longest for this, we never got a decent ECW game and so having one in 3-4 sounds perfect and then onto Backlash 👍

Justin Johnson

As a WCW fan during the Monday Night Wars, I'm voting for Starrcade (Revenge sequel/No Mercy with WCW arenas, belts, people, graphics, sign me up!) That being said, I'm cool with all three options, maybe ECW and WCW first to tide us over until Backlash since they'll take the least time.

Andrew Jones

Forgot to say a quick progress vid on each would be amazing 😀

Joe C

Agree with this. Would love to see how they each look. Either way, excited for all the projects

It is so hard to pick. I too remember seeing bound in blood previews and wanted it so bad so I voted for that but I'm happy waiting for everything.

If not for the expanded memory (which fixes the common glitching of these NM hack roms, if I understand that correctly) I'd say adding some moves and being a "reskin" isn't worth delaying Backlash - which has new game features and comprehensive move additions. I pick WCW, because any modern ECW game endeavor needs extreme features - like the tables made for Backlash, & more, for example a chair moving effect (to accompany the familiar sound when a wrestlers fall onto them). & new animations for chair shots, reaction to SingaporeCane shots & being busted open should be different from said chair shots, weapons being swung differently, different sells to grounded weapon attacks, etc.

Retro Randy Price

It looks like ECW will be the winner. I also have a handful of people contributing which will help move the process along. I agree that tables would be nice for the ECW game but we'll just call it V1, where I can add tables down the road once it's expanded on. Pumping out this ECW project will still have it's benefits, drawing more attention to the ROM Hack possibilities and possible more people contributing to the Patreon. The more support we have the easier I can justify dumping all my time into these projects. "for example a chair moving effect (to accompany the familiar sound when a wrestlers fall onto them)" I don't follow this chair moving effect?

Frank Jaeger

A laid down chair - that someone got DDT'd on for example - would move upon impact, and not just be a static part of the floor (until picked up). A metal clang sound upon the aforementioned didn't hype me up enough in NM

Frank Jaeger

Wow, awesome! Again, I have no idea what's feasible. & sorry for my wording. Also, the chair movement only accompanying the clang sound would be better than some past wrestling games - due to the grounded chair/item annoyingly moving if walked/ran over. So I guess the real challenge would be laying chairs/belts/etc on top of grounded wrestlers - on their heads for leg drops, on torso for splashes, propped up chairs or ring steps used as springboards (refer Sabu) etc. These are hype, meanwhile the ring-breaking moments in the 2K games and even the exploding one in the latest AEW game do nothing for me

grimmenace

Whichever you release first, I'll be happy with.
