Hopefully the colony survives. One idea comes to mind regarding power like what you did in a previous timer born series where you built waterwheels in a badwater channel. Why don't you do that with the rerouted bad water at the top at the narrow sections, it would need quite a bit of wood to do it but it will be endless until there is a drought

You might want to consider how you’ll use the reservoir for water when it has dropped below the spillway. Currently if that happens you can use the two water pumps closest to the dam, but the others would be not guaranteed to get water, unless you keep the auto top-up from the sluices. You might find it best to have all the water pumps pulling from canal by your base and treating it like a pond that’s kept filled to a fixed level, and stop any water flowing out past the water tanks. That way the “pond” will always have water to pump, without letting any flow away. The only uncontrolled flow should then go over the top as you want. Good luck and don’t forget to switch ALL the sluices back to auto. :)

Depending on the level of contamination in that reservoir it might have been a good idea to build a few deep badwater pumps (or deep water pumps) up the top with a few fluid dumps that poured that badwater into that channel where the top floodgate is so that the badwater spills out as a matter of priority, that way it could have drained a lot of that contaminated water out before the current bad tide ended. But hindsight is a wonderful thing 😢

Not to mention a couple of gravity batteries on top of the storage towers would store some of that power. Iron Teeth get those, right? I forget.
