(this was the best picture I could find to fit the topic!)Hello all,

I wanted to update you all on things that have been going on and exciting things that are coming up. First of all:

1) WHERE'S THE MINECRAFT???

This is a question asked quiet a lot by my long time viewers. The past few months have been up and down for me personally, with my own health and the health of my Dad. Games such as Minecraft take a lot of time to record a decent video (people are no longer happy with a sit-down-and-record-30-straight-minutes video). So time is needed to make a good Minecraft video and time has been lacking in my life for a while.

But, the good news, things have settled down and as many of you know i have started up Minecraft again. This has initially been a Modpack LP on my BiffaPlays channel (https://www.youtube.com/c/BiffaPlays the new home of Minecraft for me) but will soon include more!

2) WHY PUT MINECRAFT ON YOUR SMALLER CHANNEL??? DON'T YOU CARE ANYMORE??? WHY BIFFA WHY???

This question has been asked in various, probably in slightly less dramatic,  ways but  boils down to this. As much as I still love Minecraft I love my family more. I have to view my YouTube channel as seriously as I would any job that pays my bills and supports my families. So this means making tough decisions and sometimes changes for the overall good.

For as many HUGE Minecraft channels out there that will likely be around until Minecraft dies, there are also 1000's of channels that have concentrated on one game only and died.

Fact: I won't be able to play one game forever!

Fact: The Minecraft audience generally doesn't want to watch anything but Minecraft, Minecraft & more Minecraft.

So things had to change. It's taken me 2 years of very hard work to  grow an audience happy to see other games on my channel,  this has grown my channel in a few months more that Minecraft has done in the past few years.

This makes my channel more financially stable as a job which supports my family and it makes me happier to be able to  play/review/record other new things too and keep things fresh and moving forward.

But I will still want to play Minecraft. I've now given myself the challenge to grow BiffaPlays (https://www.youtube.com/c/BiffaPlays) to be as fantastic a community for Minecraft content as my first channel was.

I can only do that with you, so please check it out :-)

3) WHAT ABOUT HERMITCRAFT???

HermitCraft Season 5 is coming, will I be joining? YES! Videos will be on BiffaPlays. Not much more I can say but plans are afoot :-)

4) WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH BIFFATECH & BIFFACRAFT?

They are still going, but as usual people join, play like mad-people for 5 months, do everything, then leave...which means we then end up resetting.

A reset it due on the BiffaTech (modded) server anyway, but as I want to join and play too there didn't seem to be much point in doing it the past couple months for the reasons explained above. We've been discussing in the Discord server what our next pack will be, so join there Patrons (it's free!) if you want more details.

BiffaCraft will also be updated to the newest version as soon as it's available.

I do understand that interest in these servers is commensurate (there's a big word for early in the morning!) with how much Minecraft I personally play on YouTube and how many appearances I personally have on the servers. I will be doing my best to increase these over the next weeks & months as discussed above.

FINALLY:

I want to thank each and every one of you for sticking around. I know I've been a bit neglectful, but hopefully you can forgive me in light of what's been going on. My Dad's still got an upcoming serious operation, I'll let you all know how thing's are going on Discord.

I'm excited to grow BiffaPlays (https://www.youtube.com/c/BiffaPlays) into my new Minecraft home, very excited for the return of HermitCraft and extremely excited to be a part of an AMAZING community which includes YOU.

YOU (you, the one reading this) have enabled me to support my family. This is the most important thing for me. Family is everything and most Dad's & Mum's will agree we will do anything to make sure our families are taken care of.

I'm lucky enough to have this amazing job to do that and YOU are a part of this.

THANK YOU  <3 :-)

One thing I have always admired is your honesty. Many of MC fans don't realize how much work go into a 25-30 minute video. I'm very excited for Biffa plays. Now that I finally have my PC built, and it works lol, I'm planning on returning to soon. Hope everything works out with your farther. Once again, congrats on your growing your YT channel, and keep up the hard work.

Biffa Plays

Thank you, kind of you to say. Nice work on the PC! :-)

As I've said before, I'm subscribed both of your channels so it really doesn't matter where Minecraft content is. I haven't said anything, but I have missed it (vanilla, I don't really watch modded). I personally like watching just-sit-and-record types of videos. VintageBeef does those and I really enjoy them. Other makes one huge project in one video, that is the other extreme and in my opinion not necessary.

Biffa Plays

Thanks for the feedback. One thing I really miss is the ability to just play and talk, like most of my vanilla Minecraft videos used to be. That will be back :-)

Thank you for the update. I'm a fairly new regular watcher of YouTube videos. Oh I've watched a few now and then over the years, but for the last six months I have had to basically sit still because breathing has become impossible if I move. I haven't had television for years, so I turned to YouTube to keep me entertained, educated, and busy. I came across your channel by accident, as I do most good sites, and began to watch your various games. I have been really entertained. I like the quiet way you play and enjoy seeing both the advancement and the mistakes. You play games like I do... through exploration and a fun sense of adventure. That's what I like the best, I think. I own Minecraft but I don't play it. I'm not fond of the boxy look. But I can see why others would like it. When that type of game first entered the scene, I was thrilled and played as often as I could. But that was years ago and now I like games more like Stardew Valley and Cities Skylines. Having said that, I appreciate that you cover a variety of game types. So thank you for entertaining me and helping to keep me sane during this trying period in my life. You're an inspiration to me.

Biffa Plays

You're most welcome & I'm glad you enjoy my channel and I can provide some entertainment for you too. Thank you :-)

Life With Teens

I am seriously terrible at keeping up on Discord because of work and family life, so I had no idea about your dad! So very sorry to hear, and hope everything goes along smoothly with his recovery. ((hugs)) A new Minecraft channel is the best news I've heard in a long time. You're absolutely right, many of us hardcore Minecrafters don't watch much in the way of other games, so having your MC content contained on a channel is a great way for me to keep up without having my inbox buried with games I don't care much for. I've tried a few of your farming games, but they just don't hold my interest like Minecraft and modded. As to the modded server going forward, I *hope* I can get involved depending on the mod, but I'm still having an awful time getting Curse to work on my system. Ironically, the Technic pack works fine. And my fiance, Mike (aka CountDrak60) can't get Technic working on his. *sigh* Neither of us have proper "gaming" computers, but with i5 processors and 8gb memory available, they *should* handle Minecraft and mods and normally do... I'm not sure why we're having so much trouble with the modded launchers. :( (Yes, I know about java and allocating memory. It appears to be a graphics driver problem.) Definitely looking forward to seeing you around BiffaCraft more frequently when you're able, and I hope all goes smoothly going forward. No matter what games you play, we'll always be Biffa Tea Totalers! Or something like that. ;)

I would simply like to concur with MikaH. I think the best videos are where the creators are enjoying themselves. While the larger project minecrafter youtubers get more views, I think the caveat is if the creator isn't enjoying themselves with the time it's not a good video. I enjoyed your smaller project Season 4 videos over the larger project videos (not knowing the views). I think the delegation of Minecraft to the second channel is a good plan, make the videos for the smaller Minecraft viewership that isn't necessarily looking for larger projects. It sounds like a good business plan, and make sure YOU like making the videos!

Ha. I read it like "the state of the onion" :)
