Basment of Owls

To be 100% completely honest. This year is sorta my wrestling burnout / distancing year. I know it’s something most fans of the medium (or just anything really) does, but this year I just want to sorta distance myself from the wrestling world slowly but surely. That said, I still do truly love wrestling as a form of media and the ROH style + Japanese wrestling are the forms of wrestling I am most drawn to and watch when I need a comfort match to watch. It just has a vibe and worked a way that just puts me at ease and while being compelling, brutal and exciting. I honestly sometimes think ROH is my favourite wrestling company ever, certainly not the prettiest looking or sounding and has some REALLY bad and embarrassing moments in its years. But when it’s at its best it’s the thing that makes me go ‘damn I love wrestling’

My bad with no context. Mainly I just watched it years ago around when it happened and I was submitting something with aj retiring. They do work well together. Also that was me in the crowd with the neck brace, just kidding lol. Enjoyed the reaction the Tanahashi comment and sinus cavity search were personal highlights lmao

I LOVED Paul London. He was one of the first of the early 2000's indy darling guys to get the big contract. Did ok in WWE as a tag champ, but I feel like he would have had a much bigger career if he made it a decade or so later. He was right there with AJ, Danielson, Joe, Roddy Strong and so on.

Londons athletic ability is horribly undersold in wrestling history. He is definitely one of those guys that was 5 years too soon. He is in my top 10 for sure.

Ah man, If London didn't smile that one time, he'd have been a household name in black and gold NXT.
