This week on Movie Club, we explore the 2018 Korean horror film, Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum. This movie is one of the best found-footage horror movies we've seen in awhile!

Edit: Looks like the last minute is cut off for the video version. It's still up for the audio version, BUT the main things lost are:1. THANK YOU for supporting Red Web and Movie Club, but also...2. The next movie on Movie Club is Smile (2022)!

Dang first time I’ve disagreed with the man in the chair. The Blair Witch comment hurt me 😂😂

Saying Wi Ha-Joon is mostly the nice guy, y'all clearly haven't seen Midnight (2021), which I recommend. A deaf/mute girl is hunted down by a serial killer after witnessing a murder. Honestly this was a great movie, I was a chicken and covered my eyes at some points but this was very good. It made me think how much fun it must be to film horror movies, and how well the actors did. Honestly the one thing about foreign media is that you are very likely to miss things cause you don't know the culture, like leaving the holy water at the front. Still, great movie, thanks guys and task force for recommending it!!!

Love that the chair was lead on this!!

I haven't seen this movie and only listened to the audio version of this without any visuals like I did with the Scream movie club, but you guys did such an amazing job with describing everything that it felt as if I actually watched it :)

While I appreciate what Blair witch did for the horror genre as a whole, I agree with the chair, overrated. lol, also sooooo glad you guys all watched Gonjiam, movie is top tier found footage. Hopefully y’all get to watch some other good found footage ones, Host is a good, albeit short, one with a fairly unique premise! Keep up the good work guys!!

Had a work dog bust into my office while listening to this! Definitely upped the scare factor.

What I really liked about this episode of Movie Club (other than getting more of the RW team) is that it got me both to watch something I wouldn't normally watch as well hear opinions on it that are very different from my own. This movie was not for me, so it's very interesting to hear from multiple people who were really into it. I was also disappointed with Smile when I saw it in theaters, so I'm looking forward to next episode to see what HQ sees in it that I missed.

I wonder if the view count at the end was supposed to be the number of souls/people who have been trapped

I love these because I’m way too much of a wimp to ever watch these movies, but love talking about them and hearing about them. This is a perfect blend for me.

Watched this movie with my wife just to listen to this and it was amazing! We’ve deep dived into some other similar movies and found one called Incantation made in 2022. I’d highly recommend it!

So part way through the the audio started glitching. I kept telling myself it was cellular issues, but in the back of my mind I was like “It’s like the Ring, now I am cursed

Does the video just end mid sentence on Alfredo for anyone else?
