This week we dive into what some consider to be the scariest movie of all time: The Exorcist. It's going to be a wild ride as we take a more immersive route on the storytelling this week. It also features 3/4 of us who haven't seen this classic, so you're going to get fresh takes alongside the familiar ones!

Sensitive topics: gore, blood, violence, and child death

I thought that when he dug up the trinkets it made him slightly connect to the demonic thing and that's why he went back home knowing something was going to happen. Then they cued the attic as a source so I just thought that's how it was connected. That was my thoughts at first at least. Me and my group really enjoyed your thoughts and comments on the movie as well as your previous posts!

I was so sure someone was gonna mention House of Ashes by supermassive games cuz I’m pretty sure they directly reference pazuzu in that lol

I love hearing Trevor say he starts celebrating Halloween in August. I do the same but I try to celebrate it all year xD

I’m a big weenie when it comes to horror movies but I really want to start watching them. This was a great intro and walkthrough of the film so I have an idea of what to expect. I also really appreciate Jillian’s insights with the parallels for puberty and menstruation, there’s so much of that that we forget about with these works. Dracula is a good one that comes to mind with all the quiet plots and themes interwoven in the story.

I always took Father Karras loosing his medalian as a sign of him fully loosing his faith. That he belived that God couldn't save Regan, only he could and it was the last straw before Pazuzu could take him over.

I get the disheartening of the mother. Like I just got diagnosed with a heart birth defect at almost 40. I've been to the ER like a million times for my heart and they would always dismiss my symptoms as anxiety. When nobody helps you it's hard to keep faith.
