With the debris in the tunnel, everyone else was taking their suits off and dragging them through in pieces. Smith and Paul didn't take their suits off because they could hear the creatures in the tunnels getting closer. I assumed part of the not going to Shepard Station was related to the daughter's funeral card being there. Like something with her death and Lucien was underwater instead of being there with her. Or with the point about the newspaper clippings in his locker and him maybe knowing something more about what was going on, maybe the funeral card is part of the strings.

Woohoo corgis! I have a corgi Australian shepherd mix and she is the best thing. Also missed Jillian this episode!

The funny thing is, I have thalassophobia, and I was OK with Underwater. Also I overall enjoyed it.

I thought the implication of the larger monster and the smaller ones were that the large one was the mother and the others were its offspring, like Alien. The 'feeding' action is the kind of thing you see in nature.

Pretty sure the director has openly stated it is Cthulhu. The Captain's locker has weird occult shit in it because he's studying an Ancient One, which may explain his weirdness, slowly going mad.
