First! So I did not watch the movie before listening, but I do have to agree that this is some kind of afterlife or purgatory for Kevin. He hit his head (hard enough that the dad calls the mom), goes to bed, then wakes up to have all of this stuff start happening? Yeah, my guess is that the bonk on the head was worse than the dad realized and the poor kid passed away in his sleep.

Fun fact Skinamarink was a placeholder name that they ended up keeping lol. I think it was like an alternative spelling to an old nursery rhyme but I could be wrong. I am heavily on Jillians side, I tend to enjoy more atmospheric movies, sometimes just for the ✨️ vibes.✨️ I love getting to disect & unpack what is being presented, if that makes sense. Experiencing a story is just as enjoyable to me as watching a movie with more cut/dry plot & clear themes. When I first watched it, I was alone in my room, sitting on the floor, with all the lights off, & honestly I think that was a great way to watch it. It felt much more immersive. I have paragraphs and paragraphs to say about it but maybe I'll hop back here later after another rewatch ! Can't wait for the livestream today!! ♥︎

Yeah, I'm a mix of Trevor & Christian on this one. Trevor because I can see why people like it & I can see how it could (heavy emphasis on could) be better. Christian because I hated it. It was way too long & hardly anything happened which made me absolutely bored out of my skull. The short film original Heck was better, but mainly because it was only like 20 minutes, but even then still felt a little tedious. It definitely works way better as a short film & I really don't see why they thought it'd be a good idea to increase the run time by nearly 90 minutes, it absolutely did not need it.

You're kinda right in terms of the original short film Heck (it's just under 30 minutes & way better because of it, but I still didn't enjoy that one much)

I rented this movie on Prime. I watched the first hour of it and I still have no idea what it is supposed to be about. This is worse than the time I read The Great Gatsby. I’m with Alfredo and Christian on this. This is the worst movie I’ve ever seen.

Struggled with the movie itself but watching the Film Theory breakdown really helped. I just wish I got that when watching!
