The last story was my favourite :)

Sable Valruk

Dude these stories were crazy do everything you can find!!

SilverApple182

I like the mix of both. What you should do is see if Alfredo can figure out which one is which

Kristopher Lindsey

I love the range from true to made up and everything in between. This was a great listen and I love the campfire. It adds a feel of teeling stories with your friends.

Paul F

Really liked this and hope to see more. My thoughts: - Did anyone else's heart sink the moment Trevor mentioned Nutty Putty Cave? - Personally, I prefer the true stories, but think it would be too the podcast's strength to keep it as a mix - Given the "campfire" setting, I think it might be fun to have stories presented by different people, either one host per episode, or each story told by a different host

NefariousBees

I love this! I will be happy with whatever you guys deem spooky & worth sharing! Real, not real, short, long, I'll take it! Feel like reading short novels over a multiple episodes? I'm here for it!

Cody

Love the vibe and background visuals and noises

Cody

I like the mix

Terrianna

I really like this! I think I was expecting, based on the title and stuff, for it to be more paranormal, maybe urban legends. I wasn't expecting the cave story... and I'm not sure how I feel about using a real family's tragedy for a "scary stories" podcast. I'm probably in the minority, though.

Julie_Nelson55 .

I have heard of all of these before, but I still highly enjoy listening to Trevor reading them and Alfredo reacting. I second the idea of bringing in other "hosts/narrators"

Melanie Adams

I personally prefer you pick one or the other. All true or all fiction. It’s generally pretty easy to tell what is fiction, and honestly there’s so much of this style of story that’s just really not good. I generally don’t listen to podcasts that focus on fiction stories for that reason. Creepy real life campfire stories that have endings like the Nutty Putty Cave sounds great though.

LizzieEds

Loved this, especially as spooky season kicks off! I like the use of true stories, a great start to hopefully a new regular listen!

Kirsten Fitzgerald

Love the way audio was crafted to make it sound like you were in the settings. The cave stuff was so cool

Shimozu

Sorry but 2 and 3 were too obviously fake for me. I do not have the ability to "suspend my disbelief" and need it to at least sound like it really happened. Also I already heard the nutty putty cave story and that put me off the idea of even going inside caves.

Aidan Dressler

This would be great as a regular series

I personally love the range of stories between true stories and more on the fantastical side! While there are a lot of boring-bad outlandish stories out there, I trust that you'll feed us with the good good and weed out the bad ones. The campfire vibe is great, too. I'm looking forward to the episodes soon to come!

Onyx Leviathan

Very fun episode! At first I thought the true story would be revealed at the end (though I’d already heard of Nutty Putty). It might be cool to not tell the viewer/listener until the end next time, just to give a little hook.

Maeve

That’s what I was thinking! There was a show like that back in the day that I can’t remember the name of now, but it was like three or four stories and only one of the was true.

liam gore

Me and the wife love having a mix of true and fiction, but specify at the end which is real. I'm excited to see how far you can push Alfredo for his fears though!

Margo Butler

This was so fun! I think a mix of true, plausible, and creepy pasta is great. Maybe leave it til the end to reveal what's true. Either way, hope we get more of these episodes in the future!

Margo Butler

It would be fun for Trevor and Alfredo to both go in blind and take turns reading stories chosen by Christian or Jillian.

Megan

I love this. I love the mix of types of stories, and I agree with others about not letting us know real or not until after. But it really gives me the vibes of sitting in my basement as a kid with friends trying to freak each other out.

Megan

Also, I hope there will be more :)

Lyn

I truly enjoyed the mix of truth and fiction. You get such a mix of emotions that way that really get you on the edge of your seat. I really hope we get more episodes in the future. It was great to sit down around the campfire with all of you and listen to this. Great job!

Geoffrey Paquette

I love stories like these and I hope we might get some longer form ones like Ted the Caver. I also like the mix of fiction and real life, cause it gives a nice experience/ride in trying to figure out what is real or not.

Courtney Brothers

I really enjoyed both types of stories! I especially loved the ambience that the sound mixing added!

Dinkleberg65

I absolutely love this. I've always been a big fan of creepypastas and this definitely scratches that itch for me. Please keep these spooky stories coming this was awesome! 10/10

Dinkleberg65

I agree it was that perfect little thing to really help these stories make me feel uneasy

SpiritChronic

I love it. The first story made my claustrophobia acting up.

Bing’s

So much fun! The atmosphere, the visuals, the mix of stories! 👏🏻

Bradley Glaze

Great stories. I hope we get more of these episodes.

Bazooka Joe

I really enjoyed this, I think having a mix of story types is the way to go.

Chrismayn

the last story sounds like the couple from men in black

Chiiblade

I approve of the Midnight Society (Are You Afraid of the Dark) campfire. Pretty sure I've heard all 3 stories before, but a still a good listen.

Samantha HC

A mix of the true vs fictional!

Adrienne

i love the idea of this format, but i don't know how comfortable i feel about the idea of making john jones' tragic death part of a game where the end of his life is formatted like a creepypasta. discussing tragedy in long format with clarity & honesty is one thing, but this feels impolite due to the dramatization and parity to fictional horror written for reddit. he died too young in a horrible way and his memory is owed more respect than this. in the future it would be great if the true stories did not involve any fatalities.

Adam Henderson

Really enjoyed this pilot. I too enjoyed the mix of real and fantastical. The only feedback I have to offer in how I’d like to see this evolve is that I think we need to take a slight departure from “Alfredo reacts in real time” pacing that we have in the normal podcast. Don’t get me wrong, I love hearing Fredo’s reactions as these stories ramp up, but the pacing suffers when Trevor has to start and stop. I felt it was most apparent in the third story where the delivery of that twist was slightly interrupted and I think it could have hit a little harder had it been delivered in one fell swoop. Maybe we can think of each story as mini-movie clubs where we listen to the story in its entirety then stop to discuss/react/etc. Love it, want to see more of it. Just wanted to offer my two cents as a long time fan.

Molly

Loved the pilot!! Including real stories is unique and a nice touch. I agree with what others said about stopping/starting the story for Fredo’s feedback. It lends itself well to the more conversational nature of the main content on the pod, but for these creepypasta/let’s not meet style stories, I like to hear each in its entirety before the discussions start. Mostly because the scary stories are rather short to begin with! Oh—I also enjoyed the sound effects added to enhance the vibe 🏕️

Hannah K. 🌲

I really loved this. However, I’m not so sure about the “what’s real and what’s not”, because it’s pretty obvious which one is real. I think just the presenting of the scary stories and talking about them is enough of an angle, at least for me. I would love to see you guys do some deep dives into some of the OG Internet horror stories: Slenderman/Marble Hornets, EverymanHYBRID, etc… it kind of fits in this vein.

Hannah K. 🌲

Agreed. The juxtaposition was a bit jarring.

Phage

Loved this!!! I really loved having some real and not real. It is also fun to guess if something is true or not as well - I’d love to hear this guess if it’s not already obvious. Like a vote “real” or “not real.” You all did amazing with this pilot. The fireplace ambience, the atmosphere of each story being told in such a brilliant way of course keeping your classic discussion style. the bite-sized nature of this is cool too. Listen to one story and then the next when you have a moment. Would love to hear more of this!! Woo!! ❤️🕸️

Scott Jennings

Loved this! I would enjoy this mix of stories, but would favor true stories if I had to choose.

Cassidy Schuchmann

I love this! I think a mix of true and fantastic is fun. We could also treat it like a r/nosleep situation and assume all are real I want to mention something y’all didn’t come up with in reacting to “I should have looked at the reviews” : get a bed with little to no space underneath. Nobody can hide under my bed because there isn’t room! Modern problems require modern solutions

CNKay

Really enjoyed this, as a frequent lurker on /nosleep, I'm loving the themes you chose. I agree with some previous comments that perhaps the mechanics of 'sussing out the true story' was a bit obvious in this particular setup, but definitely fun if Fredo isn't as much of a consumer of this type of media and has new insights for it. My suggestion was perhaps you could keep approaching all kinds of these stories under an episode theme or monthly theme? Like popcorn flick/no sleep/scp/true crime/crimes of passion/slasher/etc for each one?

Ali

Loved the pilot! Thanks everyone! I really hope we get more episodes! Especially true stories; they are often the scariest. Yeah, deep cave exploring is a big “nope” for me.

Ashley Lucey

More please! I loved this. A mix of real and fantastic is just fine. I hope there are more episodes to be made ^^
