The cinematic story of how 11 of Boston's criminals stole $3 million from a security firm, the multi-year investigation, and the sole suspect that brought the whole operation crumbling down: the Great Brink's Robbery.

In January 1950, 11 of Boston’s most well-known criminals managed to pull off the heist of the century. In a carefully crafted plan, the group stole nearly 3 million dollars from a Brink’s security firm. For six years, investigators questioned how they pulled it off, and for six years, the men continued to walk free. Until one day, their operation came crumbling down. Today, we’re taking a look at the Great Brink’s Robbery.

This O'Keefe guy sounds like the one in every criminal group who is so greedy no amount of money is enough. It also feels like he was probably the one that killed the "racketeering guy", possibly out of paranoia cause it seemed like when ever he was around, O'Keefe was getting shot at. This whole story reminds me of the Ben Franklin quote, "Three may keep a secret, if two of them are dead."

I live near Somerville / Mystic River and never knew about this story.

O'Keefe reminds me of the phrase "keep your friends closer and your enemies closer," but he just tried the patience of his co-thieves too many times.
