The pseudohistorical conspiracy theory purporting that our sense of tracking time has been wrong for centuries: Phantom Time Theory.

Imagine a world where, instead of living in 2025, we’re actually in the year 1728. In order for this to be true, nearly 300 years of historical record would need to be a complete lie. Or what if the timeline of the world that we know is completely inaccurate, off by 1100 years? Today, we’re discussing the pseudohistorical conspiracy known as Phantom Time Theory.

I wonder if this whole conspiracy theory was reverse psychology. That there wasn't a lot of historical evidence of these 300~ years therefore they must be fake, thus getting a lot of people to look for the evidence of these years in order to prove the theory wrong. Cause who doesn't love to prove others wrong, especially in such a ridiculous claim. This could be a very roundabout way to preserve history.

The fact that Galileo had proof that was ignored by the church is exaggerated. Galileo had the first telescopes and that also means the worst telescopes. The lenses were small and not that best of a quality. Galileo trained himself to use them and had experience with stargazing. It is likely that an older clergy men with bad eyesight didn't see in a telescope what Galileo saw. This is important, because historicaly there is some kind of conspiracy that the church denied the proof, where in reality the proof was still too weak. In history there are plenty of people in the church that helped build our scientific understanding. At some point in European history the church was the centrum of knowledge, the keeper of books. If you wanted to study, you needed a relationship with the church. A lot of new ideas were also embraced by the church. Thomas of Aquino for example.

This episode was like crazy as hell to listen to. I'm not huge on history myself but like to be THAT far off and there be SO much evidence to deny it is like..... how? Regardless a fun episode to listen to for sure!

This feels like the episode of "trust me bro" gone really wrong lol. This episode kinda made my head hurt, but I'm also very tired. I'm gonna have to listen to it again later to see if I understand it better.

If you're gonna talk about Tartaria and Fomenko, you should probably address the racist parts (Arab and Chinese history were made up, Mongols were actually Russians, American-Siberian empire and Native history is fabricated, and honestly a bunch more) and the Holocaust denial-ie parts (World War 2 was a screen to destroy proof of Tartaria)
