Looking at the macabre background behind the Nahanni National Park Reserve where several people have been found dead with theories ranging from a legendary creature to a serial killer, the Valley of the Headless Men.

In the early 1900s, two brothers had heard rumors of gold that lay in the remote Nahanni Valley. They set off to extract these riches, only to never return home. They were eventually found beheaded. Was it the greed of prospectors, looking to have the loot all to themselves? Or the evil energy that the indigenous always believed inhabited the land? Today, we’re investigating the Valley of the Headless Men.

The Mad Trapper of Rat River has a movie based on it and had so much more going on than told about here. That story went on for weeks. The movie starred Lee Marvin & Charles Bronson & was called "Death Hunt". The Trapper (cause yeah no one knows his name) was hella smart & extremely dangerous. It's a really interesting story & would love to hear y'alls take on it especially since you're still the #1 movie podcast about mysteries lol

I dont know why, but when you told us to use our hive mind to find a scottsman who appeared out of nowhere with a bunch of gold. My mind immediately thought of Scrouge McDuck

So fun thing about skulls and wildlife - Skulls are quite round, and canines like their ball-shaped things. There was a body found years ago on a roadside without a head (I learned this in an old forensic science class about 15 years ago, so forgive me I don't remember where it was, but there was news coverage), and forensics found it miles down the road with wolf bites all over it, suggesting they both scavenged, but also played with it

The description of the valley is giving Fallout: New Vegas Honest Hearts vibes 😅 I just played that DLC again & I'm feeling some deja vu lol
