Looking at the intriguing history behind a treasure room that disappeared sometime during WWII, the eighth wonder of the world known as the Amber Room.

In the 1700s, architects used six tons of amber, gold, and gemstones to create a room so opulent it was widely considered the Eighth Wonder of the World. It lasted for centuries, until it was stripped down by Nazi soldiers during World War II and relocated. Was the room later destroyed in the bombs of war or was it tucked away in secret to remain hidden? Today, we’re discussing the mysterious disappearance of the Amber Room.Sensitive topics: War, mentions of suicide

In Europa we do have castles in the suburbs. You can say I live in the suburbs of an important medieval city with dozens of castles. Most are big mansions, but some do have defensive features. In medieval times, if you live outside city walls you needed defensive measures against bandits or viking raiders.

Spiral staircases were not construced clockwise for defensive purposes. There are plenty anti-clockwise staircases in medieval castles. A great idea, but you do not design your castles for defense inside your walls. You want to keep enemies outside your walls.

I am little surprised Trevor had never heard of this story before, so I'm glad I recommend it.

If you'd like to learn a bit more about the underground trains & possible bunkers, I'd suggest the episode of Expedition Unknown they did on the Amber Room. You guys went into great detail & I learned so much that that episode didn't go into, but from what I remember they found what they THINK might have been one of these bunkers & it's WILD what they find in there. Loved this episode so much! Also, I'm shocked everyone is so focused on the amber, but not the gold & gems. I think the gold & gems were used to fund the flagging economy & war, but the amber probably was destroyed in the bombing.

after seeing that image i think i know where that yucky guy in a white house got the ideas for his "ballroom".

Me confused as hell cause I could have sworn I already heard this episode last week. Only to finally figure out it was an expedition unknown episode I was watching 😂

The idea that a nearby building is so hot that it makes a pond feel like it's boiling sounds absolutely insane. There's no way.

What if the replica room is the original room but hidden in plain sight‽
