my first exposure to the backrooms was your episode on it and i really enjoyed the movie and the vibes! to me, the story hit all its beats well and i enjoyed the “anti climactic” ending a lot

Me Has A Hat

Saw "Abductee" at my local independent theater earlier this week and immediately thought of movie club. It's a semi-found footage story that features alien abduction and sleep paralysis. I think its still doing a theatrical run at small theaters, but when it finds a streaming home, you should check it out.

I had the exact same thoughts as the group about this movie. The vibes were absolutley incredible. But the fact that the story was so spotty and relied on the "well thats just the backrooms" I think really hurt this movie. You can have a movie that narratively makes sense with the backroom vibes. But to be fair I would be stoked if this was my first feature film. So hats off to Mr Kane Parsons.

This was my first time hearing about Backrooms, so i thought I’d share my thoughts. I thought the psychological aspects of the story to be the better parts—cohesive parts—of the film. I understood the replication aspect and the thought that you never really leave the Backrooms and found it compelling. However, I do agree that you can poke too many holes into it. Why was only Clark’s replication attacking people? Was it a reflection of his anger? I don’t know. Also, if it’s opening up doorways all over, where’s all the other animals and people walking around? It seemed p empty in comparison to the explanation. Learning from yall that this is just the series’s and it not having clear answers on what’s going on is p insightful. So I guess the way you can imprint your different ideas onto what the Backrooms is part of why people find it interesting. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
