When a young person skyrockets to fame, how they deal with the pressure can often make or break the rest of their life. Drugs and partying; the classic rockstar lifestyle is often the downfall of these young, up and coming stars. And as the 60s faded into the 70s, some started to notice an odd pattern; several of the most iconic musicians in the world, all died within a very short timespan. But the strangest part? This is differently one of those mysteries that most people have some knowledge of, just like the "Rule of 3" where forms of tragedy accrue in groups of 3.

Kurt's performance of "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" lives rent free in my head. Haunting.

to me, the 27 club always felt like a modern folkloric sort of thing. we sensed the pattern and ascribe something almost supernatural-esque to it in a way to almost protect each other? it becomes a story that you tell people as cautionary tales etc.

When I was a smoker I refused to even use a white lighter let alone keep one on my person. And that all stemmed from hearing about the 27 Club

imsuprised we didnt talk about the music industry killing off their artist to make a bunch of money off their past music they die and their music starts making numbers again

Though they lived passed 27, John Bonham of Led Zeppelin and Bon Scott of AC/DC also died substances abuse issues perpetuating the "Live fast, die young, and leave a good-looking corpse" Rockstar mentality. Not to mention a plethora of musicians from the grunge scene.

The White Lighter theory brought back a memory of when I worked at a gas station & a dude bought a lighter. I asked if he wanted a specific color he said, "Any one except white." When I asked why he told me, "White lighters are cursed. If you smoke, never keep a white lighter on you." He then left & I had no idea until now what he was talking about. That was an interesting flashback lol

I paused this video to show my mom the Hard 2 Breathe music video. She said Trevor was trying to fly in the beginning and Alfredo looks like Mr. Boy Band 😂

Is there a way to post the photos so we don't have to download them to view them?

I think I messed up my comment and need to retry ..grr. The white lighter superstition has two pieces to it .,. 1- Most lighters are white plastic with a decorative skin wrap, but not the bottom 2- Lighters were often used to pack marijuana into pipes, which would leave a noticeable resin on the white bottom, which is bad luck if you're caught with a stained white lighter. Probably common in the 60's and 70's when drug usage went up and Bic lighters were more common

Holy shit I recommended this to Jillian when yall were still at RT! Glad to see yall finally did it!! I still think you should do a super deep dive on Kurt Cobain and Jim Morrison tho lol cuz I kinda support the theory that they were murdered and it was covered up. Especially Kurt with the supposed connection of Courtney love and Epstein. It’s brought a resurgence to the topic in that maybe Kurt discovered something and was gonna bring it to light. Regardless I think everyone should go watch soaked in bleach!
