Hello researchers!

Just met yesterday...But actually, it was today (at least in JPT).The reason is obviously because so much stuff is packed at the end of the month.Pure coincidence, I tell you.

Yep, it is already that time.The lovely and exciting EOM Ult comic day!How wonderful (self praise).

So this month, the chosen series was “Lucky Star”.It had been a choice for quite a while, but with the cooperation of many researchers, it has finally prevailed.These kinds of passionate battles are always nice to see.

I pondered for a period of time thinking of how this one should play out, but considering how Lucky Star is designed, I wanted to give my respect to its overall atmosphere (as I try to do every time).With that in mind, I went ahead and came up with this month’s EOM Ult.You can see in the comic regarding what I came up with.

This is just Lucky Star.Completely official (it is not).

Lucky Star is a comic made up of a bunch of four panel comics after all.I used my experience with Ultlife to put something like this together.There are actually a few Lucky Star chapters drawn in the conventional way, but I personally like four panel comics better so I went with this style.

Just a thought, but I feel that four panel comics work best with slice of life scenarios...My assessment of this is that slice of life is not too complex and grand, which allows each event to have a short start, climax, and finish loop, like a mini story.I mean, you could technically draw an action battle comic in the four panel form, but I wonder what each strip’s “finish” would be for that.Considering that, it makes it easier to fit a scene of normal life in these panels, as a punchline usually exists in any situation.A personal thought, so no need to record it as an official statement or anything.In the end, I am simply saying, I like four panel comics.(And two panel immediate start finish comics too but that is another story.)

For this setting, I came up with an imaginary situation of the Lucky Star characters 10 years in the future.So that is why they look a bit more mature than how they usually look like.Though I suppose some have not changed too much as they already have like a baby face to begin with.Imagining how a character looks in the future is really fun, you know...This is one of the merits of characters being teenagers in a series.

Regarding Konata’s feelings here, I thought about how she would be just before turning thirty years old.For a long time, she had focused on her hobbies, and continued to tell herself that she is still safe, but getting closer to thirty she starts to feel nervous, which brings us to the comic setting.I have a feeling that many people can relate to this feeling nowadays.Especially people with hobbies and interests.... I will stop before I throw any more boomerang bombs.

Lucky Star does not have much of an image of featuring romance, but you would be surprised at the number of times the characters seem interested in love, actually.Like how Konata mentioned it being strange that no one even mentions anything romantic during Valentines, or that nothing happened when the group of 10 girls went to the beach.When seeing these types of scenes, even though they seem content just playing with each other, they are still interested in some kind of romantic relationship, which is actually quite exciting.Anyway, the manga has scenes that hint this, so I thought why not include them in the EOM Ult as well.

So to mention some memories with Lucky Star.Maybe something not that deep, but I learned about this series through an old MAD video.It was in a period where many videos were made using Kirby’s Sky High track, and some person made one using Lucky Star anime scenes.After watching that, I ended up getting interested in it and here I am today.What kind of an entry point is that, really.From then on, I gathered and looked at the manga, anime, video games and other merch.It is a series I loved dearly that much in the past.The series has not had any updates for many years now, but I am still waiting for something to come out at one point, which would be great to see.Like seeing how Konata’s group live their adult life would be so interesting to see, especially with romance.You know, like a romantic comedy or something.Interested enough to even consider coming up with something myself...

And to be honest, I would like to even draw a continuation of these girls from this comic, if given an opportunity.Like what kind of person Konata might be falling for, or how Kagami and the others react to that.Maybe even seeing the twins fight over the same man or something...Oh my, the fantasizing is endless.Though I have a feeling it will stay as just a fantasy for a great while...

Anyway, Lucky Star is a series where you can feel soothed by reading/watching, especially if you are an otaku as well.For those who have not experienced the Lucky Star experience yet, I recommend it.I would not say there is much “thicc” content, but they do bring up the topic of boobs at times, which should bring a chuckle to you males out there (like me).Oh, and you will want to eat Chocolate Cornet after it too.They are quite tasty if you ask me.

Whoa, due to it being a while benched, I sure had a lot to say.I think there will come a time to talk about the series again, so I will leave it around here.Stay tuned for the next timing I guess.

研究員の皆様、こんばんはですよ。

昨日の今日…に見せかけてまた今日ですね。月末に色々と寄せられているのが原因ですな。偶然の産物です。

そうですよー、もうこの時期でっせ。楽しい嬉しい月末ウルトラ化漫画の公開日です！ワクワクですねー（自画自賛

今月ついに選ばれたのは「らき☆すた」ですね。だいぶ長い間選択肢に残っていましたが、研究員の団結力のおかげで無事今月のシリーズとなりました。こういう熱い展開は好きですよ。

どういうものにしようか色々考えてみましたが、やっぱりらき☆すたが誇るデザイン、というか雰囲気ってやつがありますよね。なのでそういったところを鑑みて今回の月末ウルトラ化を作ってみました。まあそこは漫画を読んでいただいて感じていただければなと思っています！

これはもうらき☆すたですね。公式公式（大嘘

実際らき☆すたって言ったら四コマ漫画ですしね。ウルトライフで培った経験を元にこういう風にしてみました。たまにらき☆すた本編でも描き下ろしの通常通りの漫画もありますが、やっぱり四コマの方が好きなのでそっちに寄せてみましたとさ。

勝手なイメージとして日常系の漫画って四コマが合うというか…日常ってそこまで壮大ではなく、一つ一つのイベントに起承転結があるからなのかなーって思ったりしてます。別にバトル漫画で四コマやっても良いかもしれませんが、バトル漫画の「オチ」は何になるのかってことなりますよね。となると基本的にオチが顕在する日常の方が組み込みやすいのかなと。ただの自論ですけどね。とりあえず、四コマ漫画は好きってことで。（即オチ2コマも大好きですがそれは別の話）

今回の設定としてはらき☆すたのキャラクター達の未来の姿、まあ十年後って感じで描いてみました。なので色々と大人っぽい雰囲気を出してみました。とは言いつつほとんどのキャラクターはそもそも童顔というか、若そうな見た目しているのでそこまで変わっていないかもですね。キャラクターの未来の姿って想像するの楽しいんですよ…こういう妄想ができるから本編では学生のキャラクターって良いんですよねぇ。

そしてこなたの心情としては、アラサーになってからのことを考えてみました。長年趣味に没頭して、まだ大丈夫と心の底では思っていたが、30歳に近づき少し焦りを感じた時期、といった形ですかね。多分、多くの人が感じることではないでしょうか。特にひたすらに楽しめる娯楽とかなにかがあると。…何ならブーメランとして確定反撃くらうのでこの話はここまでとします。

らき☆すたって恋愛のイメージ無いのですが、意外と本人達は恋愛に興味があって求めてる描写ってあるんですよね、実は。バレンタイン時期になっても恋愛のれの字も出てこないことに突っ込んだり、女性10人で海に行って何も無かったって嘆いたりとか。こういうところを見るといくら友達同士で楽しんでいるように見えても恋愛願望はちゃんとあるんだなって、ある意味安心したりします。まあそういう描写もあったので、今回のお話を思い浮かべたってところですね。

らき☆すたについての思い出…までとは言いませんが、昔見たMADで初めて出会いましたね。確かあの時期は星のカービィのスカイハイという曲を使ったMADが多く作られてたのですが、らき☆すた版を見て何だこの可愛いものは…ってなってそこから入りました。どんな入りなんですかね、本当に。そこから漫画とかアニメ、ゲームやグッズ等を集めていったので、それくらいにハマっていたシリーズになりますね、これ。何も更新されなくてだいぶ経ちますが、また何かしらの形で復活されると嬉しいなと思い生きています。ぶっちゃけ社会人になったこなた達の恋愛物語とか超気になるので、そういう日常ラブコメとかだったら良いですね…なんなら自分が描きたいと思うくらいに…

実際このこなた達の続きは描きたいなとは思っていますよ、いつか。こなたがどういう人とのルートに入ったかとか、それを見たかがみ達がどう焦っていくのかとか。ワンチャン双子ちゃんの修羅場とか…いやー、妄想がたくさんできますね、こういうの。当分は本当にただの妄想で終わりそうですが…

まあとりあえず、らき☆すたはとてもほんわかな気持ちになれるオタクが共感できる面白い作品ですので、まだ読まれていない、見ていない方は是非ともお試しください。むちむちな見た目ではないですが、時折おっぱいについて触れますし、男性達が少しむふふってなる話もありますぞ。あと、チョココロネを食べたくなります、はい。美味しいですからね。

わぁ、長らく待たせただけに色々想いを書いちゃいましたね。いつかまた描く機会が来ると思いますので、その時のために一旦お話は以上としましょうか。次のタイミングにご期待ってことで。
