JAGUAAAAAAAR!!!!! JAGUAR JOEEEE!!!!! It has been my pet theory that he's been lying about being from the jungle and being the chosen one since episode one. And now, more and more evidence supports this theory... Even without that, I fuckin love this little dude. I don't usually comment but I've been rewatching PD and they're always asking for comments in the beginning episodes of that, so I thought, why not. I don't think words can express how much I love this guy. Every time he opens his mouth I'm like 'meeeeee' and I'm a woman who constantly touches grass. It's less about what he says and more about what he means. He desperately wants to be important. In my interpretation, to have some kind of effect on the world before he dies. And now we know he looks up to all these anime/storybook heroes and sorry to be parasocial but everytime he says something the thing that Grizzly said in the first ep rolled rings out in my brain: "What Jaguar needs to do is what I need to do." I think it's what everyone in the world needs to do too. Accept yourself as who you are, try to be your best self, but don't kill yourself trying to be the perfect self you feel you need to be to matter. Regardless of if that's what that is bc it's up to interpretation, it still always makes a characer become my immediate favorite when I know they're important to the player. Also Grizzly has said that salamanders live shorter lives than humans and so do you think he always feels like he's running out of time? That all the heroes he's looked up to had more time than him? Or maybe those heroes started when they were younger (as they do in most media) and he feels he should have become a hero by now already? AGH THIS GUY I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!!! Maybe favorite jrwi pc of all time idk he's just so relatable if you actually look past his bravado. If anyone actually got this far on my long ass rant thank youuuuu

Based take tbh. My issues are largely the opposite of Jaguars actually, but I won't get into that. He is so funny and one of my favorite player characters as well, mostly for the fact that he is hilarious, but also he is wise in moments, even if it's kind of "this is deep and I'm 14" sometimes.

The first time I listened to this I thought it was a little bit silly and over-dramatic, but now that I have listened a second time, I empathize with all of these characters soooo much. Mel the least... but It's still a hard situation, as somebody who grew up adopted, with questionable parents. I understand, Mel isn't right, but I have felt how she's felt and that I understand. I just disagree with how she went about it fundamentally.

not that far into the episode but!!!!!! could the sword….. spirit…… god…….. ghost….thing… be the god(dess?) of stars? because theyre kinda connected to time.????? sort of! or like its literally like….. a spirit or something that has been guarding the blade because its like Incredibly Powerful….. just my thoughts so far!!! * also is the medicine gods name like Triam? (i dont know the spelling!!!!) because if it is, it sounds A LOT like triage (the thing where you sort patients by severity of state or injury), and it made me giggle

jaguars “i want there to be a reason i exist” dialogue REALLY reminded me of Mae’s conversation to Skycat in Night In The Woods, just like… there is something so desperate in both of their words, knowing that their lives could mean nothing, but still wanting to mean something no matter what, to matter to everyone, to share their conviction so no one else feels alone like they do, so everyone can also have a chance to find out what they mean and how they matter in the world. (the dialogue from Mae im specifically thinking of is: “I want to hold on until I'm thrown off and everything ends. And you know what? Until that happens, I want to hope again. And I want it to hurt. Because that means it meant something.” !!!!) truly beautiful dialogue grizzly, seriously getting teary-eyed!!! so amazing….
