(and i was cracking up about the wood😭) !! take as much time as you guys need with bringing riptide back!!!!! the fact you guys are building your own studio and have been working so hard on changing how JRWI operates , AND you guys are moving your recordings to be in-person is so incredible and shows how much love you guys have for the show!!!!! seriously, take as much time as you need, itll make more excitement for riptide and PD (and midnight shift like ohmygosh!!!!!) so so SO much love to you and the team!!!! 🩷🌷

zzero123

I’m so excited!! Even if it sucks that riptide is delayed again it’s honestly just making me more excited for when it comes out, especially since I know it’s gonna be even more sick the longer you have to plan/ruminate. You guys are the goats and I’m so excited to stand erected as a jrwiener in this exciting time

Oh, I'm so fucking HYPED for the Call of Cthulhu William campaign These changes make sense to me, two campaigns at once def seems stressful, especially when you have to record in person and cram both of them into that time

BUTCHER

This is awesome

KeyToCalm

This is gonna be so fricking poggers, but I gotta ask since we aren't getting exclusive campaign content any more, is it going to just be two episodes every month? Or will the weeks that exclusive campaign content is posted have main campaign episodes instead.

brain_dead_dm

I'm furious grizzly. Merch man bebo would have said the line. /j

Bacchu!

I’m really looking forward to the little in universe side stories, missed the kind of what ifs style content. Thanks for “unloading” onto us G 💯💯🔥💪

Tidelength enjoyer

You guys should absolutely try to get a daggerheart sponsor with critical role! Would love to see you guys play that system reguardless!!!

Iklonar

Yes…ish? Presuming you saw this information and just didn’t understand it, it sounds like Patreon will not get full exclusive campaigns anymore, but instead there will be extra content (oneshots, possibly short sub-campaigns as well?) which are supplementary to the ongoing campaigns — Unwitness Protection Program, for instance, seems to be about William Wisp’s backstory (supernatural investigations). So in a sense, we will still get patron-exclusive content, but they won’t be full-length campaigns anymore. Also Grizz’s BTS content, if you’re into that sort of thing.

Tidelength enjoyer

Ok third comment, my bad, but genuine question are you guys gonna keep the biweekly schedule for main campaign releases? Or can we expect to see yall's main campaign weekly?

Ash Bostic

Are episodes going to be weekly or once every other week?

RedMucus

I love JRWI, I've been listening since episode one of the fated, I've been a member since episode one of the council and I've listened to everything you've ever put out and it makes me sad to say it, but this update sucks. We're down to one episode every two weeks, no new content til November (probably longer), worse audio quality, less theater of the mind, and no plans for PD or the suckening. I really don't want to be mean or discouraging, but I felt like I needed to give honest feedback and I hope you'll prove me wrong.

Iklonar

It sounds like the total amount of content we’ll get per month will increase, with the same number of episodes as before (he didn’t say it explicitely but Grizz mentioned Patreon getting Riptide 117 the same week as 116 which implies that 117 releases one week later on YouTube, which I’m taking to mean weekly episodes) now just all in one campaign instead of split between two, in addition to the side content. I actually really like that there’ll be side content for existing settings — in a way that actually feels like it’s replacing the what-ifs, but in a way that it seems that the cast will enjoy more, so that’s really exciting. Riptide’s delay is pretty unfortunate (I’m guessing this also means that Grizz won’t appear in any content before that if all the Patron content was recorded when he was sick, but I may have misinterpreted when that was recorded), but if the YouTube is getting Patreon campaigns ported over during that time (I know that only TMK was mentioned in that regard, but Prime Defenders and The Suckening will HAVE to be moved over if they’re still getting their next seasons since the new seasons will now be on YouTube) and we Patrons are getting side content then it seems like we won’t have a significant reduction in content to enjoy in the meantime. I’m really looking forward to these changes, especially if it’s easier on the JRWI crew.

TotallyNotNP

AHH IM SO EXCITED!! Kinda curious tho, how will the patreon still be worth it if we’re getting less content? Like I could understand if this was accompanied by a shift to lower costs/ join the rolled and 5 dollar tier together but this feels like a bit of a rip off on our end, or am I missing something?

Crab Crafting

I’m really happy that you guys achieved your dream of your own studio, but as a subscriber, this is honestly not it for me. I’ll basically be getting way less content for my $5, and I don’t really see any reason to stay subscribed since all future campaigns will be free to listen. I’m still a big fan of JRWI, but I’m going to cancel my membership after the Wonderlust Q&A.

CJ

Riptide is the new Silksong

Crab Crafting

Agreed tbh. As a listener, the voice acting and sound editing really hit the spot for me - I don’t need to see miniatures and battle maps, and I can’t, since I listen while I do other things. I’m glad the crew is getting more quality of life, but this update doesn’t do anything for me.

Vienna Sheehan

Lovin the update but do yall got any plans for Suckening s2 at all? Re-watched it recently and its as lovely as ever so i was just wondering if there would actually be a s2

Bea

oh my gosh this is SUCH a cool update im so hyped for unwitness protection program and to see you guys in the studio together!! the snippets we got to see look SO awesome

nyght_owl872

this is awesome!! so glad you guys are expanding and i can’t wait for more content and the production quality increase. my favorite podcast forever

KaraokeKittyKat

happy you guys get to do in-person dnd!! looking forward to watching

OctolingO

Some big changes happening!! Thank you for taking the time to make this video and keep us informed—schedules and plans changing is a natural thing, but we appreciate being let in on what’s happening so we’re in the loop!! I’ve been listening to the show since Riptide episode 11 and am looking forward to seeing where it goes next!

OctolingO

I don’t feel like the audio quality has gotten worse? It is unfortunate abt the longer wait for new content for patrons and the lack of update on PD and the Suckening, but I don’t think the audio quality has declined

Casketeer

I am truly happy for JRWI getting to where they want to be but I am unhappy. I'm sure I'm probably alone in the boat but I started listening to jrwi for the longer campaigns and story. I have no desire to watch in person content especially if it means I get less content to listen to. Big sad.

RedMucus

In the previous in person episodes, they would often speak to each other and not directly into the mics so the audio was worse. Right now it sounds fine.

Raymond-is-bread354

Ok, ngl, the update overall is really epic, I'm very excited for more stuff, and it's going to be awesome, but from a patreon standpoint, I see no reason to stay subscribed to the patreon, since we're not getting any exclusive campaigns anymore. Especially not weekly. Although it does make me sad, because I will no longer have access to stuff like Judgement or TMK, which sucks ass. The only way I'll see it being worth it is if you reduce the cost of the Just Rolled With It Tier, or just kept the 5$ tier and combined it with the Rolled tier. Or honestly, I would be happy with compromising and making the rolled tier 7$

BonezMcCann

This is so exciting!!!!!!!!!

Avundius Aaablya

riptide is cursed dawg 😭😭😭😭 the dm cought the pharaohs curse and our fields are barren

Avundius Aaablya

super excited for the studio though, every time you film in person it feels like something has been dumped in the water supply, but like in a fun way!

Petra

Slompound real and true.

VF-Chernobyl

riptide comeback is about as real as the fountain youth at this rate, lads

LickSquid

WERE JUICING🗣️💯🥀

Spider in your cider

I see all your points and I feel you, but the only reason that they can do all this cool stuff is because of our support Plus, we still get monthly exclusive content And possibly behind-the-scenes content as well Overall, I think the price should stay where it’s at because we’re still getting extra content and we’re still supporting JRWI so it can continue to do cool stuff

Spider in your cider

I can agree with you that I don’t really feel the need for miniatures or battle maps as I like the theater of the mind as well But if you listen back on the little section of Bizly’s call of Cthulhu episode the mic quality was fine A lot of shows do it in person and have no problems with their audio because they had the proper gear set up for it during the past JRWI-weeks it was a temporary set up but with a definite studio, the set up will no longer be temporary so they can justify a higher quality mic setup

JustTheLad

Honestly this doesn't seem good to me. Moving over to doing one campaign at a time sounds like it will delay every other campaign for years. Riptide, assuming we're about 50-75 percent through would take abother 1-2 years to finish, then we get the next campaign grizzly dms. wonderlust took more than a year so assuming its the same length then a lot of the other patreon stuff will be delayed for years. PD likely isn't coming after so that will be on hiatus for a while. Flying down to do episodes in batches in person is just jumping through hoops to deliver less content and i think it's a pretty bad move.

Nova

Man it feels like convergence is never gonna happen. If you're only focusing on one campaign at a time I feel like it's just going to keep getting pushed back indefinitely. I'll be honest, I dont really care for these changes. I've been an audio only listener since before you guys unlisted Fated and I've got no plans of changing that any time soon. Higher production going into minis and battlemaps and sets really doesn't do anything for us audio listeners. I like you guy BECAUSE you don't have the big over the top production like other real plays. With JRWI it felt personal, like a group of friends playing dnd. I'm kinda sad to see the team stepping away from that

JustTheLad

the whole draw for the patreon was a second campaign alongside the first. getting rid of that and replacing it with early episodes and behind the scene stuff nobody asked for is not a good move. throwing out the structure of the patreon everyone is used to without lowering the tier prices is going to lose them money in the end just going by many of the comments.

Spider in your cider

I’m back with more ideas Mumble manner Bizly bastion Confliction capital

bazyli

good for you but I honestly cant bring myself to be excited about this at all. you are further delaying campaigns that were promised YEARS ago for something that has very little bearing on the viewer experience. instead of buying a studio you should invest in a social media manager who will keep people updated on basic stuff like episode delays. there are dozens of fan-run accounts that keep better track of all of this for people than any of your official channels. the fact that FANS do this work for you is kind of embarrassing

Krow

Super excited for this next big chapter of the show! My only questions are: 1) Will new episodes continue to be uploaded to audio only platforms? 2) Will the previous what ifs & rolled be moved down to the lower tiers to reflect the new reward tier structure?

Nova

I’m not going to unsubscribe but I am honestly disappointed. I started listening because of how unique this podcast was, and now it just feels like it’s kind of becoming the same as every other D&D actual play. I also don’t understand why you would shift to a format that delays campaigns promised literal years ago even further.

arcfiretome

I'm so glad you guys are finally able to have this dream become a reality after all these years! My only question would be: what are the plans for releasing previously exclusive campaigns? If this content is no longer exclusive going forward, it doesn't make sense for it to remain locked on the patreon— they should get re-released onto the main YouTube/Spotify feed as well. I understand the $10 high roller is still for Rolleds so it makes sense for them to remain exclusive; but if the nature of the $5 tier is changing, then that previous content should change in nature as well. I'm absolutely sure there's hesitation about it bc Apotheosis and BitB don't have videos to go with them + budgeting about getting animations for each episode: you guys don't have to do all that. Literally if it was just a transcript on the screen, or Following the map around in the case of BitB, that's acceptable to me. I'm not a video jrwi fan though so I Understand I'm not a majority opinion, but the campaigns should get re-released Regardless of how this happens. Having an update, whether it's a text post or whatever, about what'll happen with previous campaigns and having a little more transparency around that would be nice. All I've ever wanted from y'all's team in these past few months is more transparency around the struggles you all have been facing— I know that fans have had a lot of varied reactions in this last year or so, and a lot of people have been publicly critical of you all. Personally, I've only wanted more frequent updates, and a more centralized platform For these updates. At the beginning of hiatuses they would be announced on yt communities and never patreon, I believe one merch update was site exclusive (it makes sense given merch club has moved to the site, but a patreon notif for that First Merch Update since the change would've been nice). Ever since twitter died I feel like there's been no central location for the team to post updates like these; idk if the patreon can become that for free members or something, but I've only felt frustrated when I've felt like Information could've been told to patrons sooner And that would've cleared up a lot of fanbase complaining about lack of updates. (ALSO if the central community for updates becomes a fucking discord server I will kms!) Literally I don't give a fuck if [whatever]% of fans are Always Mad at you guys regardless of what y'all say; everyone who is a fan will appreciate more transparent updates about the Small things, and not everything as one Big Presentation after the fact that everything has happened. I can't wait to see what y'all do in the future, but more importantly I can't wait to hear from you guys about the small updates and hiccups as well.

Benjamin L.M

This sounds awesome but I really like that it was more audio oriented and hope that most of it will stay in the audio editing and cool descriptions of things, cause I don't normally watch the videos and just listen - although in person stuff does sound hype !

bazyli

also, the way you are going about the convergence reboot is so disappointing.. not only was it not released anywhere close to the 9000 patron goal it was promised for, but now that there finally has been any sort of tentative release date set for it, it gets pushed back indefinitely AGAIN, possibly years from now. crucial information about the campaign, like what player characters will even be returning, is dropped randomly during non-jrwi streams. how can anyone even know it will happen at all, when other campaigns that were also promised a return are now possibly not to happen again? as a long time fan of the show this is just so sad. I started off extremely excited to see mt favorite campaign return and now seeing how it is treated I am not looking forward to it at all

Crab Crafting

So hyped for Suckening part 2 in 8 years

World's Greatest Bard

i know it was a joke in the Judgement and TMK qna's but i'm so glad to see Milo a permadent cast member for like actually be real she's a fantastic addition to the cast

World's Greatest Bard

i will say happy about the in person stuff thats hype but god i really don't care for Suckening Season 2, I've been watching for years but i don't care about whatever Nightshift is, and don't really care about Convergance really at all. But I definetly am not happy about the final season of Prime Defenders being pushed back indefinetly, its gonna suck to need to wait for riptide to finish and just hope for Prime Defenders season 3 thats really disheartening :( i got the poster for it in my room and everything i need more Dakota Cole, William Wisp, and Wave Length content

Velcrow

I am really happy for you guys that you’re happy with the upgrades and the studio, I am a little disappointed with the lessened content however and I understand its how it has to be if you want to be in person. I just feel like the content has obviously slowed recently and now for patrons we have to wait 6 weeks while TMK goes public with a campaign we have already seen. I love the show so much and im happy you’re all finding your footing with the in person stuff

arthritis

Personally im the opposite, I kinda dont care for the main campaigns and i prefer the little side bits, the suckening and bitb being my favourite campaigns ever

OctolingO

Next it’s gonna be bad weather making somebody miss their flight to the studio 💀

OctolingO

So is the convergence reboot 😭

Newton P

The schedule feels like what's happening with my own play group... We've had a VTM campaign on the back burner and we were going to run it congruently with our DnD campaign, but decided it would be easier on everyone to only do one at a time. Two years later and the VTM game has not started yet 😂 So it goes. I became a jrwiener pretty recently (mid-Suckening) so I'm not super attached to the older continent that's been promised to return, but I can see why others are bummed out by this. I personally am just vibing and I think you can do whatever you want with your show forever, but you guys might want to be careful about delivering on deliverables in the future. It's a real catch 22 like. Keep plans a secret, everyone wonders what's happening. Post about plans, everyone gets pissed when things inevitably change. Big shrug. I'm sticking around.

Numb_butter

I'm curious are we still going to have some form of a recap for riptide? I remember that being talked about before I think. On another note I'M HYPED FOR THESE NEXT STEPS!!

TheSkinMan

I’ve given it some time to formulate my response to this update, and while I am still excited (because I love this show to death) I cannot help but feel a little disheartened. I am willing to suspend my upset at the schedule change as just my ADHD impatient ass mind. But the unsteady deadlines, and the abandonment of once exclusive content feels simply scummy and counter intuitive. I was never as into Convergence as others, but its reboot was a milestone at 9000 patrons… which we are well beyond. On top of that this prospected beloved campaign has now been thrown years down the backlog, making the promise of its return feel half baked. To those who have eagerly anticipated its return, this update was a sugar coated spit in the face. I will always support this show due to how therapeutic it was for me during the lowest point of my entire life, your stupid cum jokes gave me joy when it was hard to find it. But I know others don’t have the same attachment. The allure of exclusive, entire stories beyond the paywalls of the Patreon was a genius strategy in ensuring retention. But now that the gates have been opened to the public, a lot of casual listeners will likely cancel their subscription entirely (because tbh, behind the scenes content is nowhere near the level of the Patreon as of current.) With all of that being said I am extremely proud of where this once rinky dink glorified discord call of a podcast has come! All of the personalities, editors, commission artists have been some of the most inclusive and creative individuals of any community online! And to say I’m curious to see the new angle this show is taking would be an understatement. I just sincerely hope the JRWI team is fully in tune with the voice of their audience, and carefully weighs the potential detriments that may come from this monumental shift in gear. Good day my Jrwieners

Spider in your cider

10:45 he talks about the un-witness protection services E1 coming out near the end of this month or early next month am I wrong?

Spider in your cider

Also I think it would be nice to have a calendar with rough plans for the next two months of JRWI I think that would be very helpful to help me understand more of the schedule And to give people a better idea of what the new release schedules will entail

Spider in your cider

This puts into words a lot of what I have to say that I haven’t already stated

Spider in your cider

I think that sounds like a great idea to shift “just rolled with it” down to the first tier, but if that did happen, I think increasing the price to seven dollars might be fair

Spider in your cider

After reconsideration, I definitely will not drop the subscription if a gun was pointed at my head But, I do think that combining the two lowest tiers of just roll with it at the price tag of 7 or 8 dollars is an amazing idea To be so real, I was so angry at the negativity That my vision was clouded of the good idea lying in this post

Spider in your cider

Wait a minute you’re so right More content in total, but a couple of tweaks to pricing of paying members might be in order

Spider in your cider

I’m not for sure, but I saw a post theorizing about something grizzly said He said that when riptide 116 released paying members Patreon would get riptide 117 He said that Patreon members would get episodes one week early This implies that when the first episode releases, the next episode will be a week from that implying that it will be weekly The post I got this from was by iklonar

Iklonar

Check my comment right under yours where I gave my best analysis to that end. Ultimately we don’t know yet because Grizz didn’t specify an upload schedule; it seems safe to assume that YouTube will get weekly uploads based on what he said about the early episodes, but it’s currently unclear what schedule the patron exclusive stuff will be posted under (or if there just won’t be any schedule at all). The total amount of content almost definitely will not be lowered, but the amount of EXCLUSIVE content might. Frankly, I’m content having less content specifically for my patreon membership since we’re still getting at least the same number of episodes, and would definitely not agree with calling this a “rip off” — there’s plenty of non-patron fans, so I don’t think there’s shame in cancelling your subscription if you feel like getting less exclusive content means it’s no longer worth it (or, if you’re tight on money, only donating, say, every other month, and catching up on the patron stuff on those months). Again, the main consequence of this change is increased accessibility. Ultimately, though, there was just enough information not yet clarified that we don’t quite know yet, so if this is a concern to you then you’ll just have to wait and see for now. This is a total non-issue for me, personally, because I’d honestly keep the same pledge going even if all patron-exclusive content (rolleds included) became free for everyone, since I like supporting JRWI. Not everyone can afford to do Patreon memberships, and I’m actually happy to have more people get to experience the patron campaigns and we’ll get to see a whole second hype wave for all of them as they get added to YouTube (as I mentioned in my comment below, they’ll at least have to add Prime Defenders and The Suckening to YouTube since those will still presumably be getting their next seasons — I think they’re aware that there’s a lot of hype behind those so I doubt they’ll cancel them) which is going to be a lot of fun to observe after having already listened to everything beforehand. If having less exclusive content makes being a patron less worth it to you (noting, again, that the TOTAL content will remain at least the same), then you’ll have to wait until we find out if the $5 tier content upload schedule is changing before anything can be determined.

Bleh

Why are you so beautiful !?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Iklonar

Check my response to the comment below yours or my comment below that comment. There will still be patron content and you will still get at least the same amount of content total between patreon and youtube, but we don’t know how much patron content there will be.

Timothy Carrell

The question is, will we get ESVI, DmC 6, or Riptide 116 first? /silly

Iklonar

Legitimately had absolutely no idea tbat there was gonna be a convergence reboot. When was that first announced?

CathaCat

As a newer fan I have very little to say about reboots and all that. I truly think it was obvious how much fun and how different the in person episodes felt for you guys and I can understand why you want to do them more. My worry is more in the direction of common d20 criticism. Filming things in bunch like that takes away the ability to respond to small bits and things about the campaigns in the community and while I don't think it's a big issue for side stuff for the main campaign I think that is kind of sad. Additional the weekly schedule does kinda allow for breaks and fresh approaches to things while putting several months worth of content into a couple of days can make sessions feel a little monoton at times. In general what matters most is how you guys will prefer to do it so im curious to see how it turns out :)

Iklonar

It will almost definitely happen eventually, but Charlie is also the GM (IIRC — I’ve not heard the original) for Convergence, so I think that the reboot for that will happen first since The Suckening was just last year. If they try to keep everyone GMing (presuming that Milo GMing will only be shorter Patron stuff for a while — presuming Milo wants to GM, which isn’t a guarancee — because GMing can be really intimidating and smaller stuff like oneshots is a way easier place to start, and Milo has 4 people who are all more experienced at GMing so presumably there’s not the same pressure to hurry to GM as there may have been earlier on for JRWI) then I’m guessing that Charlie will be the GM after Riptide, which seems to be in its final arc(s) so I’m guessing it will be somewhere in the 12-30 episode range (could easily be wrong). At that point, I’m guessing it’ll either be Convergence or The Suckening — since I have no familiarity with Convergence other than Bizly’s character, I’m more hyped for The Suckening Season 2, but it could really go either way (or a third direction if, say, they’re still planning on whatever the next patron campaign they were planning on running after Judgement was — or the fourth direction of the esteemed Mythborne campaign, which I would utterly pop off for). So basically yes it’ll probably still happen but it will also probably be a fairly long wait.

Iklonar

The amount of content should be the same from what I’ve gathered, it’ll just be one campaign at a time and each campaign will come out twice as fast. I think this does mean we probably won’t get any more >100 episode seasons like we did with Riptide, but I’d be surprised if they only did 12 episode campaigns from here on out. No need to panic for your preferred style yet. Right now, we don’t know exactly what this changes in these regards.

Kolby

My only real concern is just about being able to get Prime Defenders and similar content still, it’s been my absolute favorite campaign so it is worrying to not have any real updates regarding it. Other than that I do think all of the changes talked about sound fun and exciting

Iklonar

Here we are, working the JRWIelds

Iklonar

Let’s remember that the reason that JRWI has been one episode per campaign every other week was because they found doing two episodes every week to be way too difficult. In combination with the fact that Riptide 117 releases here the same day as 116 despite only being 1 week early indicates that there will be weekly episodes, we’ll still get the same total number of campaigns, just one at a time at the full rate rather than two at a time at the reduced rate.

Iklonar

Okay, I don’t think that there’s enough money coming from patrons for them to this, but if they ran a Kickstarter or something like that for an animated version of BitB or PD for the YouTube shift I would donate as much as possible for that.

Krow

I was referring to the $15 tier perks

Iklonar

I know it isn’t as exciting as new content, but this is an excellent time for relistens of anything you haven’t listened to in a while — I’ll be doing my Riptide relisten while TMK is coming out so by the time Riptide returns I’ll be better refreshed on the events.

Iklonar

Similar position here, I began listening just a couple years ago to give me some entertainment at my monotonous job, so I know next to nothing about the delisted campaigns. To be honest, I do feel like this information was given without accounting for negative reception because it didn’t really include anything to address potential worries and I think that is having fast consequences as it seems like most people aren’t accounting for the fact that the campaigns will be uploaded twice as quickly and thus we won’t have an overall smaller number of campaigns.

Velcrow

Ive unfortunately been relistening since riptide went on hiatus. Ive gone over every campaign 3 times haha. I understand why they are doing what they are doing, its just a little disappointing

JustTheLad

yea, but that still pushes other campaigns years out. even if it's the same amount of episodes we were getting before it would be all riptude, then all whatever the next one is, and so on. i like tiptide but i don't want to wait upwards of 2 years to hope the next campaign is pd and have those hopes squashed

JustAnotherRQ

I am super excited for the in person episodes, they look super fun already, but I am worried about things like people getting sick or being busy, do you have plans on how to make sure nobody ends up missing for entire batches of recordings?

Iklonar

I think another news post to clear up misunderstandings and give more specific news is probably needed. I disagree with a lot of people’s stances on what is happening right now and believe that there is a lot of misunderstanding as to the implications here — I think in terms of content we’re only beneffiting here — and I want to draw attention to the positives of this, but I am concerned simply because I’m worried that the lessened exclusivity and misunderstandings will cause the number of patrons to drop too much and have some disastrous consequences as a result. I love JRWI so I really hope that there’ll be some more outreach to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Titan Storm

I love all y'all, you all have brought me into this hilarious and fun experience and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Springbreezey

Yeah I agree, if we aren’t getting any Patreon content until riptide returns in two - three months I’d like to be able to cancel for that amount of time.

maddy

Very excited for the in person episodes, those were always great. I feel like I have no idea how these changes are going to affect things at large but you guys have cooked so far so I’m looking forward to seeing where this all goes.

BTS CONTENT LETD GOOO

tunafish33

I’m so freaking excited, JRWI was the first D&D podcast I ever started listening too and it’ll forever by my ultimate favorite. The vibes you guys bring to the table is just so good.

ruby

i am SO excited for you guys to finally be achieving this goal of yours, especially as a long time listener, and those snippets of the one shots to come look so incredible, i am very excited to see them! i think we would like to know a little bit more about what the future of the patreon is going to look like losing the exclusive campaigns, and how regular exclusive content will be? will there be new content while TMK gets re uploaded? would you guys consider doing some campaigns/one shots over discord in between the in person sessions? again, so excited for whats to come! watching jrwi grow over the last 5 years has been so amazing, and a little bit of clarity here will go a long way in building our anticipation even more :))

Spider in your cider

You can check out convergence if you search on YouTube “JRWI big binge” you can find a playlist with all the old JRWI shit This was a gem I found years ago and I really hope you check it out because convergence was a lot of fun Ps: there’s also the entire faded campaign

Even though to some the extensive delays have been frustrating to others, personally I don’t care, riptide went on hiatus almost a year ago now. The original late summer release of riptide snuck up on me, it was just suddenly here. Now the only thing in between us and new content is just a bit more than a month, we can wait a little longer. Also I could never be unhappy if I’m getting more wiwi and coc. The seemingly indefinite delay on PD season 3 is disappointing I won’t lie. You guys are doing great and i can’t wait for everything you guys have to come.

Casketeer

I hope I'm mistaken but it seems like they are moving from a weekly upload schedule to biweekly upload schedule which does mean less content being put out per and on top of that, off jump its a public release of a campaign I've already paid to listen to. Not to mention the several other campaigns that are in absolutely limbo and will probably live on the back burner indefinitely. All so I can listen to a one shot thing where they play as goblins? I've noticed I'm definitely not alone in this boat but it just sucks to have voted way back when on the campaigns they would be run long term and now where are they? I'm gonna go boohoo over in the corner now

Father Cat Milk

The change is not for me homie but hope you enjoy

Gekerd blep

I'm so excited to see the changes being made and the new little office space and how this will evolve the show going forward while also keeping this energy of just a group of friends having fun and creating stories and being silly together I'm also very excited for all the bits and chaos that will happen now that you can physically interact with each other and all the behind the scenes shenanigans It's so cool to see the show grow and where it has come from to where it is now and where it's going and im excited to see all the guests and just stories that come out of a show that I personally love so much The only question I have is are the previous exclusive campaigns going to stay exclusive and if they are how will that work in regards to season 2 or continuations of certain campaigns for example PD or the suckening if all the campaigns are going to be public from now on how will continuations work Overall so excited to see what happens and though there will be some worries in regards to moving to just one main campaign and things I'm so excited to see what happens and yeah all the people in the team and all you guys should be so proud of what you have created and what you continue to create this truly is one of my favorite podcasts because not only can it be serious and Goofy and sometimes a little bit of a mess and a little too bitty but in the best way possible it's amazing to see a group of friends just have fun and create stories that means so much to not only themselves but all of us as well 🖤💜🩵❤️🐌

IM SO EXCITED AGGDHDJDJJ‼️‼️

Meapyboy1234567

The Suckening Season 2 (is coming out when Silksong comes out 😆man i want both of them so bad)

Aj N.

IM SO PROUD OF YOU GUYS YOUVE ALL COME SO FAR! I’m glad you’ll be focusing on one project at a time, we will all be waiting for riptide with earnest

Meapyboy1234567

Uh go to the unlisted playlist and listen to The Fated again idk lol. Yeah i totally understand that. As a newer Patron from 1 year ago i’m still making my way through Prime Defenders. So i still have the Rolled’s and the rest to catch up but yeah for people who have been here since the beginning. I definitely see the dissatisfaction. But here’s to hoping for the future.

Another CoC campaign, we are so back.

RossoTheRed

I've already watched this a while ago but I just thought of this right now: I'm curious how these new one-shots that complement the other campaigns will work for you guys in terms of actually creating the content. I mean, the concept is pretty similar to the Just Roll What Ifs but I recall in a previous patreon update that those got cancelled because they were hard to do, because of how they made you guys have to rewind in the stories & they were just generally inconvenient to make. I don't know... I'm really excited for the future of JRWI don't get me wrong, I'm just worried about if this will last.

holcro

Love you guys but as a 5 dollar audio listener for like 2 years all this does is remove additional campaign content, delay everything, go on another hiatus, and ask for the same amount of money. Additionally, with in person shoots going in bunches, what happens when other people get sick or have conflicts that delays content even more or reduces the amount of you in episodes or cancels complete sessions altogether forcing online recordings for those bunches which is back to square one with less content. Idk man. Also just like business wise you gotta see that reducing content with hiatuses and indefinite delays is going to hurt momentum and most likely reduce your common patron base which is what funds a majority of the show most likely. With the amount of patrons I feel like it’s not crazy to expect a pipeline with hard dates that is widely accessible to your paying audience.

Velcrow

I agree 100%

SteamToast

This aged poorly, unless I missed something

Iklonar

I’m guessing it’ll largely be stuff that relates to campaigns without requiring that characters be reverted to a previous point — for instance, the upcoming Wiwi oneshot doesn’t require them to remember the state of things at whatever point because it predates anything they actually played out in PD. So we might get more character backstory oneshots, perhaps oneshots that take place after the end of campaigns, or maybe something taking place in an unvisited part of a world. Or something else; it’s hard to say right now.

AlphaWolfEdger69

Hopefully someone could help me with this but do us paying Patreon members (5$ tier) have to move over to the website? Is there any sort of transfer for that? I bought the full year subscription only a couple months ago…

Jesse

Friendly reminder, Grizzly DM my beautiful baby boy, that they have a huge loan to pay off when the show starts back up! It’s been a year now probably! (Ep. 85-86)

Iklonar

If you’re just concerned about the lack of new content recently for $5 patrons (or just at all) and don’t want to read a full explanation, skip to the bottom part of my reply. You do not have to do so. I think they get a little more money from website members (because Patreon takes a cut) but there’s a number of people (myself included) who would find the website less convenient than Patreon (for me, I listen on drives or at work and so comparatively janky mobile in-browser listening just isn’t a good way to experience it). Regardless, they tend to promote the website more than the Patreon nowadays so that’s basically just their default way of referring to all patrons between both sites. They won’t be dropping support for Patreon and they — or at least some of them — still check Patreon comments (if you listened to the Judgement Q&A, Condi mentioned someone pointing out a strong resemblence of a certain video game boss in the BBEG fight at the end of the campaign; that was me, he even responded to that comment). If the reason you’re asking is because of the infrequent posts lately, that’s because they’re changing up the format. They didn’t actually specify this (which was a big mistake imo) but based on how the first 2 episodes of Riptide’s return are releasing for patrons on the same day (and how TMK is uploading weekly on YouTube), it seems like the main (YouTube) campaign will now upload weekly, and we’ll still get Rolled. There’s no longer gonna be any Patreon exclusive campaigns (I’m actually a little concerned about how they’re going to handle The Suckening Season 2 and Prime Defenders Season 3 since this will presumably mean that those will be getting uploaded to YouTube before those can happen, but if they only upload one episode per week then that’d be a whole year of no new weekly or biweekly content for patrons, so I’m hoping they upload those to YouTube at the same time as Riptide or whatever comes next). $5 patrons will get 1 monthly exclusive episode which will be supplementary/side content like Unwitness Protection Program, in addition to getting YouTube content one week early. Ofc this sounds like a worse deal than an exclusive episode every other week, and you will be getting fewer exclusive episodes, but you will actually be getting more episodes overall (4 YouTube episodes + 1 patron episode per month versus the old 2 YouTube episodes + 2 patron episodes). The reason we haven’t been getting many new uploads lately is explained in this video — Grizzly got sick and they weren’t able to record Riptide. Riptide returns in November. Things will be a little dry until then if you’ve already listened to TMK (although the YouTube version has new visuals which is fun) but we’ll get another Unwitness Protection Program episode before then and then we’ll be chilling. Hang in there!

Iklonar

Bit late to respond here but we’re seemingly actually getting more content than before given how TMK is uploading weekly now; it’s just gonna be mostly one campaign at a time. Don’t necessarily disagree on other points though.

Jonesy

hell yeah! i love being able to see what's going on and watch people's expressions, it's so fun 💕✨
