Ok this is a really premature conjecture but the fact that we got that Charlie pop-in explanation for the system (especially since CoC’s already been played for Blood in the Bayou so a fairly large portion of patrons would already have a vague idea of how it works) makes me think that a large portion of patron content moving forwards might use non-D&D systems which fuels my copium that Mythborne will return even if only in the form of oneshots.

(Also big spoilers) To be fair they did pretty quickly figure out a cure that is likely viable, and the nebulous canonicity of this in conjunction with William’s mother being infected from the start and the majority of the town likely being infected means that it’s likely treatable (I feel like if hundreds of people all died in such a graphic way in rapid succession then that would have been a bigger deal in PD).

Y'know, I actually IMMEDIATELY thought it was bugs festering inside of and exploding out of people just because I read a Zombie series when I was younger where exactly that was the cause of it. Good series, only kids under 16 were unaffected so kids had to survive zombie apocalypse. Most of them die.

its honestly my favorite way of worldbuilding, just the idea of having these horrifying things happening alongside all the insane superpowered shenanigans. and having the question of why dont super heroes station here to be ready to help and its some mind barrier that for some reason most people can't see that there's anything wrong. it adds a whole level of terror because *something* is wrong on a far larger level than just some spooky things happening
