THE COUNCIL DISCUSSES EPISODE 13 OF APOTHEOSIS

Comments

Speedy Cheetah Cub

I agree with you on everything except Peter becoming more extroverted. It's clear to me that he's still very introverted, he just is much less shy and actually has friends to hang out with. He seems more comfortable being around people and speaking his mind, but it still drains his social battery.

The possibility of Charlie ever reading a fanfiction that I wrote about his character sets the fear of God into my bones.

Rockn Chair

It would actcually be so cool and funny if the JRWI crew read fanfics for an episode or like based a What if on one lol :]]

Jackson Hunter

Peter: The angel who forgave the devil. Plot twist: It was a Lizard

So I text my girlfriend live reactions to me watched the episodes because she likes to hear me freak out about them and hear the cliff notes. Me texting her “ Slimecicle reads JRWI fanfic and the William Wisp x Mitski Playlists ” has caused her to block me. I pay $10 for this…

fynn.

okay but the fanfic where tide is murdered is actually fire- there aren't to many multi chapter pd works. also i shed genuine tears when they brought peter back. i thought i cried enough when he died.

R. S

okay honestly- okay hold on i gotta turn on my bard music- okay. i think this episode was actually so frikn cool. everyone had SUCH an amazing character development. obviously condi's DMing this session was amazing- my favourite episode so far of apotheosis. frikn peters glow up and not even caring about the surges of power he has now- but instead focuses on Thanatos and kissing Rumi. Rumi letting down his barriers of his looks and actually talking about his past, being open to Thanatos and actually projecting his true thoughts and hopes. and even better with Thanatos- HE FRIKN LAUGHED- said he didnt know if the path was for him anymore- and collected rocks which broke my heart in so many different ways- you guys did such a good job. well done :'>

What I liked about this episode is that it wasn’t monster control service part 2

Peter sqloint and rumi seriously have a special place in my heart, their characters compliment eachother so well and I'm so glad you took the route of canonizing their relationship as being romantic because its just so perfect. The way Peter brings just humanity and kindness to the dynamic, with his pure honesty, he brings out the best in rumi and thanatos in a way only a character like him could by just being himself. The way rumi so genuenly loves Peter for all his flaws because to them they are not flaws at all and the way Peter slowly gaines confidence and realizes he deserves respect, they make eachother feel seen in a way no other pair of characters I've seen before they're just so perfect for eachother and their relationship progressed so naturally even across this short time AGHH i could talk about them for HOURS and Thanatos learning to effectively become a person again through them is soooooo I'm never getting over this series ever, like genuenly Concidering getting an apotheosis inspired tattoo of some kind to keep a reminder because this is one of the best series I've ever watched,,,

Artcherontia

Also appreciating the queer rep you made so naturally, chefs kiss to all of you, I'm genuenly so grateful this series exists, I'm deffinitely gonna be comming back to it over and over again

Artcherontia

I'm just fucjg pacing around my room stimming yall got me acting so mentaly ill about these characters /pos

I listen to JRWI at work and before this episode of Apotheosis I was listening back to early riptide eps back before all of Charlie’s characters were literally hurled into their respective voids (it’s been a rough few weeks in the JRWI it scene y’all), and listening to this ep and episode 12 was a WILD ride in that setting. I genuinely had to several times just sit there blankly while I processed everything, and then try not to cry because it’s a contaminant. I love apotheosis, it’s so fun and everything about it is awesome! From the fights to the character moments, it’s been an incredible ride. I can’t wait for the finale, as sad as I’ll be to see it go, but I can’t wait for PD to come back also! Terrified that Charlie has read PD fanfic, but I do love how he’s secretly active in the fanbase LMAO amazing work guys!! Keep sqlointing

Looking through Apotheosis so far, you can clearly see the character arcs for all three of them. THANATOS: Thanatos from afar looks mostly the same. But looking at episode one and two, where he was slaughtering people out of anger, to now where he is less angry, and showing more emotions than ever, even happiness. All around I give Thanatos a gold star sticker for his growth. PETER: Peter's arc is the clearest, and yet the most drastic out of all three in my opinion, You can see the nervous young man, grow into a confident, courageous, and more extroverted young man. After this adventure, I feel Peter will be a different person by the start of his next. All things considered, he gets a nice rock made from Rumi-ite. RUMI: I'll be honest, I thought Rumi wouldn't grow much. and that was true until the last two episodes where he changed 10-fold. His arc was more of a wall, and it still was great. His perfect world being destroyed by the gods. Lashing out like Thanatos, Yet pulling it in to fix what was broken. My only wish is that he used his other lives more, like the minotaur-goliath. Rumi for his growth gets an effervescent guitar pick for his harp blade.

I somehow got more excited about them kissing than fucking

I’ll be honest with you, I think this is my favorite campaign. I love the story, all the characters, all the twist and how everything played out. I really like how Thanatos has stuck by his ideals this whole time, just as Bizzly wanted him too. But it’s also been really cool seeing him slowly develop, him slowly warm up to Peter and even slower warming up to Rumi which makes sense for him, and seeing his reaction when the spell wore off and he saw that he killed Peter, AMAZING!! Lets be real, how could you not love Rumi, he’s confident, supportive, charming, funny and wants to absorb power to become a god. What I really enjoyed seeing with Rumi was his walls slowly falling down. I know a lot of people say that about Thanatos but, Rumi was so extremely confident and so sure of himself and even came off a bit full of himself at times. But seeing that very subtlety change throughout the series, seeing that everything wasn’t fully in his control, that he wanted more then just power, that he could change, not his appearance, but himself for the people he loved. It was truly amazing, and seeing him break at Peters death was heartbreaking for all the viewers. Amazing job Grizzly! Dude, it’s Peter Sqloint do I need to say much more? But seriously tho, Peter is such an amazing character, I mean I genuinely don’t even think I need to say anything cause everyone can see how Peter has changed, what he’s done for both Thanatos and Rumi, hell even the JRWI guys talk about it! It’s just amazing that after everything Peter has been through, all the pressure and pain, that he chooses to be so kind, and forgiving. Grizzly and Bizzly said in the beginning of this series that they where ready to be supporting characters to Peter, and while both characters are definitely not just supporting characters, I love that they stuck with that. That they where always pushing Peter to be better, and they believed in him, and Charlie was so shocked when Rumi made Peter god like it was so funny cause it was so clear to see how much Rumi and Thanatos cared for Peter, so most of us had an idea that it would happen. I love this campaign, your an amazing DM Condi and I’m so excited to see what you do next!

This episode made me realize that Thanatos is my favorite character in all of just roll with it congrats

1 I really like that Thanatos has begun to think more for himself, the fact that he doesn't think he should destroy the whole world anymore because he can recognize the good in it is very cool imo. Also love how he followed Sunny back and how much he's come to actually respect and perhaps care at least a little about Rumi (and obviously Peter). 2 I like that Rumi was willing to put aside his ideals as well for Peter. I remember the gang talking about how it probably wasn't a very healthy relationship at first, since Rumi seemed like he might have been using Peter for worship and etc, but it truly definitely blossomed into one of my favorite relationships ever. 3 Peter. Oh my sweet Peter. He is such an innocent little guy. The fact that even if he had no powers, he could and would have still completely reshaped the world. And the fact that a man who's sole purpose in life was to destroy every god and then die didn't give two thoughts about making Peter a god speaks more than any words could. In short, I absolutely adore the dynamics and character development. It's absolutely golden. <3

The one consistency I've always imagined the Moonbeast with was a set of beetle wings, so I've also chosen to picture the Sunbeast with a set of dragonfly wings. It's kind of hard for an NPC to not just randomly walk out of the woods when your characters are always in the woods. This has been the most edited Rolled yet, omg!! I'm not sure if this makes me want to return to writing fanfics or avoid them as much as possible. Fun fact, I am in a constant state of terror whenever I watch an episode of any campaign, which is why I'm unaffected by angst because I've conditioned myself to be unbothered by this state of being. I like to call it "Anxiety"

THANNY PACK

Keyia

My favorite thing about Rumi would have to be his calm demeanor and charismatic mannerisms. It's so nice to have a level-headed and well-spoken individual in the midst of what's basically the apocalypse because it's probably one of the few things thing that kept the group from dying or killing innocent people.

Keyia

My favorite thing about Peter would have to be his perseverance, which wasn't incredibly prominent in the first few episodes but wholly took shape as the series progressed. While uncertain of himself, his determination to help others began to outweigh his doubt and reinforce his strengths. As much as he probably doesn't realize it, his dedication to those he cared for helped better both himself and others.

Gunkymunkyspunk

(FMAB Spoiler*). I know this is more pertinent to last episode, but Peter sitting alone in the sword after he defeated Exandroth (idk the spelling) gave me similar vibes to the scene in Fullmetal Alchemist where Alphonse traded his soul in order to give Edward his arm back. Something about him sitting alone in a weird dimension, putting his whole faith in his two friends reminded me about that. But this episode, made me sad that none of these campaigns have their own animated series. So much came full-circle and resolved so poetically. But it didn’t quite have a sense of finality. It’s as if this climax merely gave birth to another story. This episode may not have had the same emotional weight as Not Ferin Well, but the structure and imagery of this episode is just as phenomenal. I could ramble incoherently about this for hours but I’ll just finish up by saying that this episode is tied for my number 1 favorite episode of JRWI, despite the fact that comes from a mini campaign. Kudos to the four of you for making a campaign that developed naturally and beautifully within a mere 13 episodes.

Keyia

My favorite thing about Thanatos would have to be his dynamism throughout the series. Despite his stubbornness, Thanatos did try his best to give the others a chance to do what they felt was necessary, whether he really agreed or not. He first saw the party as a means to an end, a convenient instrument in defeating the gods. Their aims in alignment, he quickly realized that, rather than resisting, it was far more preferential to appease their trivial desires in order to preserve their cooperation. As they traveled, the situations they faced brought him new perspective and he began to truly respect and cherish his compatriots. For such a stubborn character be so lenient to change really made his character arc, especially over such a short time, incredibly interesting.

Grimy Boi

I like how the instant monster control service was mentioned I felt like I was back in it for the rest of the rolled

Sunny Side Spud

Just Roll What If: Rumi doesn't fall in love with Peter

Max Out Of Ten

Question for Bizly: as someone who goes to the gym and has IBS, do you ever like get there and you start your workout and it gets everything moving inside and then you have to stop and go use the bathroom and basically start over? Cause I’ve found no way to combat that and it’s annoying af.

apotheosis: the Bad ending

seeing a short form campaign is so cool because we get see character development so much more clearly and i loved to see all of their characters grow and change in 13 episodes slay

Andromeda

Peter is literally just a guy and they decided to make him god. Holy shit-

animalosity

I was wondering, if there's a fan discord for JRWI,! it would be great to have people to talk to, especially regarding the Patreon exclusive content. or even perhaps maybe i could suggest just a Patreon exclusive discord...? I know there was previously an official one that's now no longer, but i dont know the exact reasons for it's ending, if it was simply just mods having better things to do then i wouldn't mind even helping out with that..

potato derk

there is! it's @jrwicord on twitter, the invite should be there :))

jay

yo I've never properly commented before but saw you guys were reading comments so, I did the maths for the chances of peter, yknow, dying. 1.83%!! from the roll on who to hit, to the chances of a nat 20 and whatever else I did. I can only imagine that the odds with the shop generation would make it even lower, but I'll stop causing problems for the people now :]

ZenLeonard

There was an old one, it was removed since they didnt want to manage a server anymore, and also regarding the controversy with the old dm.

Keyia

The chance of Peter being the target was one in three, the chance of a nat 20 was a one in twenty, and for Peter to have passed the save, he would have needed to roll at least an eleven on the d20, so one in two. That, multiplied together, is equal to 1 in 120 which is 0.0083 or 0.83% That's not even taking into account Thanatos's likelihood of saving against the spell.

Ponderhin

Wait is there actually a way to pay annually and pay less? Cause fuck yeah I wanna do that
