The fact that they have no way to treat really makes you think about how many completely isolated cases in Prime go untreated due to extremely rare circumstances based on unique powers and the like. It also reminds me of a Masks rpg series I watch with a character who's power is a different symptom/ailment that changes each day and is highly contagious. There are surely some real unlucky folks in the Prime universe.
