THE COUNCIL FINALLY DISCUSSES ALL OF BLOOD IN THE BAYOU.

Thank you all so much for listening to this, it's been an honor and an absolute blast writing, producing, and editing this series. Huge thanks to Nathan for the original soundtrack, Tizen for editing and SFX, my boy Matt Brousseau for mixing/mastering and SFX, and Grizzly, Condi, and Bizly for being the best players I could ask for.

We also definitely didn't get to everything in this, so I'll be answering YOUR unanswered questions and theories too in the comments! - Charlie

it kinda sucks that grizz didn't like it cus tbh i think he was everyones favorite character lol

weasel

sorry this is a late response, but i believe that when the barrier formed around the town it killed all the birds in the sky. (The barrier also cause the earthquake.)

weasel

its completely understandable why griz didn’t enjoy the campaign very much due to how stressful coc can be, especially compared to other ttrpgs, but i feel like he portrayed kian perfectly and was one of my favorite parts of the campaign. Ofc it sucks to have your character die, but it felt natural to the story that Kian died, he was great comic relief, and as far as horror movie tropes go, the comic relief always dies in Act 3 when the shit hits the fan. (Also people always die when they hook up in horror movies I mean that’s just how it goes.) As a listener, it was such an impactful “oh shit” moment that suddenly made the stakes feel so much higher. I loved Kian and what he added to the story, Griz you should be so proud of how you played!!

Emma B

Grizzly saying he didn't like the system and then saying it wasn't important when no one heard him actually made me so sad. I loved Kian so it's really upsetting that Grizz didn't have much fun with it, though totally valid.

Jazz

SO SO SO GOOD oh my. I’m definitely listening through the entire thing again

Brooks Johnston 42

I think the ending was that he died and that was his sister greeting him in the afterlife. She said that he had changed because he wouldn’t have sacrificed himself back then.

DeeDeDeeDee

Are we gonna talk about how Kian said he wanted to fuck Roland and everyone just stone faced it and ignored it? That shit was funny as hell

Ben Tedesco

a zombie apocalypse game would go crazy. also great work everyone thuumbs up

Ty Johnson

I fuking love this just found this channel as well as this mini campaign hope the suckening can balance both the comedy and horror aspects of vampirism

literally_An_Opossum

I highly doubt that you're still answering questions here, but i need to know, did Billy Mays survive?

Flicker Selaphobia

I just finished listening and I absolutely loved this. I hope to see more of something like this in the future because of how good this was. As a fan of horror this whole thing was incredible to listen to. Everything was so action packed and just pulled you in. Amazing job with this :D

ectoplasmicradiance

I just finished all of this and I absolutely love it. It’s so goddamn cool. The world, the horror, the characters, all of it. This is the most metal shit ever. Also this is making me want to start planning and making my own campaign cuz DAMN this is cool.

zayzie

I can't tell you how many times I've re-listened to this campaign and it actually makes me really sad to hear that Grizz didn't enjoy it. I know all of them felt that Kian didn't really work in this environment but personally???? I COMPLETELY disgree, Kian was the absolute LIFE of this campaign and I thought he actually flourished in the environment of it and he made for so many of the entertaining moments. In fact his character was the entire reason I decided to buy patreon to listen to the rest of it. Like of course Rand and Rolan were great characters too but Kian was the entire reason I decided to dive deeper into this campaign. Kian's story and general character were INCREDIBLE in my opinion and I absobutely adored any scene involving him. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one when I say that Kian was probably the fan favorite. Not sure you'll ever see this Grizz, but I just wanted to say I really enjoyed your part in this campaign and it was a pretty big bummer to hear you didn't enjoy it. I hope there's some other oppurtunity for you to enjoy call of cthulhu in a different environment because I loved the way you decided to play and know CoC CAN be a blast if it's gone about right. And overall, I just enjoyed the entire campaign. On top of singing my praises to Grizzly/Kian; I just wanted to say I absolutely adored this entire campaign and was really sad to hear it was only a mini-campaign with 4 episodes. If there was ever another thing even sorta similar to this I would totally buy patreon again just to listen to it. It was EXTREMELY well made and written and I just have to say that Charlie is an EXCELLENT gamemaster.

V0id0fRedempti0n

I completely disagree that Kian was a bad choice. I think Kian was a very fun character, because he was such a contrast. And honestly, having the person who lived like he couldn't die go down first really was thematically appropriate. I don't think Kian being resurrected worked as well for me, but that may be personal preference. But honestly I think he was an awesome note in the campaign.

confused

I remember Condi mentioning a potential Apotheosis novelization at some point, has a Blood in the Bayou one ever been considered?

foikish

kian bisexual stone

liquidbronz

Roland, (timothy) Rand, Rachel Rand, Rebecca... why did so many important characters have names that start with R, my brain is too focused on the ant bee creatures to keep track

finncharlie

1. i need a jrwi zombie apocalypse campaign so bad 2. grizzly's bedtime routine is so relatable 😭

finncharlie

i personally loved kian being a larger-than-life character surrounded by normal ass people. the contrast was really funny and interesting. kian is my wife i love him

grimalkin

I'm genuinely sorry to hear Grizz didn't have as fun a time as everyone with this campaign, but I do wanna say, I personally LOVED Kian in this! Everything from his character design, to the way he was played, and ESPECIALLY the bangin' tunes made for him. Thanks for the campaign, JRWI gang, can't wait to see what y'all do with the vampire series!

Poetic Pilgrim

This was a fantastic campaign and I enjoyed it so much! If I were to draw Spoiler Fanart would it be ok to post it around generally or only keep it to Patreon??

Ratstic

That sudden flip in tone, both in music and in voice was so scary when it finally clicked that she was one of them

Ratstic

Kian is my favorite character (and seems to be most peoples) The entire scene with Becky was so god damn good, like i have rewatched it so many times cuz of how it turned a cute romance scene into a horrorific and creepy one Charlie is one hell of a dm and story teller, I really hope he does more horror stuff

finncharlie

im sure if you censor it/mark it as spoilers when posting it would be fine!! on twt there's a censor feature, on instagram you can put a couple slides beforehand :D

xaeyrnofnbe

you guys have GOT to do a bitb what-if one of these days. it'd be so funnnn

weasel

i have good news

cactusRing

grizzly sounded so sad about his characterD: i think he played great, and just really helped with the whole vibe

Gravel Gavel

I know this was ages ago but I wanted to reiterate most peoples comments that I fuckin loved Kian, he was my favourite character, he brought such a good vibe and he made me so happy. Also I've heard Grizzly say a few times he plays hot characters because he isn't but bro that is so not true. Anyways, I wanted to say that, although I'm not a fan of horror this was pretty good and the amount of twists that had me speechless was awesome and I can't wait to see more from these lovely people <3

nutshidter

fucking shit. I wish they had explored more. I love Charlie's writing and they signed up for the evil route. can we get a redo. erase theh players memories and try again.

karma

so good

lowpolymoose

I’m gonna keep adding to the Kian was a great character train, he felt super human next to everyone still. Sure he was the dumbass that died but that’s such a trope, and the willingness to play a character to their core and kiss the girl when she clearly a bug monster is not at all a disservice. I get the frustration with “losing” but I think y’all killed it, and the storytelling was INSANE. Good stuff.

stardustandstories

My thoughts on the "was Kian a good character for this": from a player perspective I can see how that would have been hard, to have an eccentric character in this small town horror setting, but from a listener perspective, I love Kian. He's this unique individual in a small town, and the point about him not having anyone to riff off of was actually really cool to me, because that's how life can be. He felt relatable in that way.

NattyNuke

So I have some good news

Blue

that zombie apocalypse campaign has me fucking losing it i REALLY hope they do something with that idea of deafening when getting run ins with zombies— i eat zombie apocalypse shit UP, would love to see that expanded on

NattyNuke

I KNOW!! I’d kill for a CoC zombie campaign, even if it’s short, Charlie pleaaaseee!!!

Blue

LITERALLY BEGGGGGGGINGGGGGH 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

GingerMallow

Grizz made such a human character, Im sad to hear that they didnt have as much fun with this campaign but Kian felt like comic relief that turned into the most down to earth character in a way. His reactions were genuine and human. Denial is a huge part of being humane. Even if the players knew not to trust Becky Kian still trusted Becky. He wanted to believe that 'Becky' was really Becky.

Arisveah M.

kian was so important to the overall theme i think, because the grief of playing out a life he didnt have as a rockstar and coming to terms with it right before the big resolution! it was like an explicit personalization of grief as a monster. loved that guy

Frogmatic

what was the dart that rolan got hit with at his parents house? If he was already part of the hive did this just solidify it

PixelDog

headcanon for rolan touching the barrier is that the bugs can probably intentionally touch the barrier if they try since itd probably need to be maintained in some way, so because rolan perceived the barrier after they crashed into it he believed it was there and subconsciously his bug mind intended to touch it that or he imagined it because i dont think either of the others saw him touch it at first before the shoe

ConstantlyBen

After all of this. All of this phenomenal work. The rolled ends with foreshadowing the Monster control service one-shot. Foreshadowing greater than the Rolan reveal. (Not really, Charlie did phenomenal with that.)

Trevor T

I feel like Kian was the character that reminded me this was happening in the 80's a lot of the time

Rals

What about Kian’s cult parents what have they been up to in the midst of all this???

Radver

IM SO SAD ITS OVER

I_C_Sharkie

This was such an amazing one shot I loved it so much with ther perfect amount of horror and comedy and the characters where so amazing 👏 😍. Although I every time Kian was mentioned I kept thinking some one was calling me so that was a trip

Radver

Was this the good or bad ending or will we never know? Because i honestly think that this is the bad ending because Rand is a really unreliable narrator.

Just Roll With It
>>94651650

This was a bittersweet good ending. Though they could've all maybe survived this if they played super cautious and got really lucky, if they did not destroy the queen Galloway would've just been the beginning.

mae

this was incredible, the way the storyline came together and they way the pieces clicked into place was SO cool and i will never get over it, this was probably one of my favorite campaigns ever, kudos to EVERYONE!! 👍👍

Radver

are we allowed to ask more than one question? i have quite a few but i want to ask them after i listen to them in case you answer them in this rolled

Louis Escher

Will you guys publish the song grizz made for the end?

brackett

can't listen to the podcast right now bc u guys did too good a job at making it scary but i did listen to the song at the end and i loved it :] i have it on repeat atm

cait

charlie!! did you take inspiration from the quarry for the transformation process / officer dudes? i’ve been rewatching the playthrough of it and when you said their skin exploded it’s all i could think about! there’s a lot of similarities!

Landfrenchfries

Thank you so much for this awesome series. You all did such an amazing job.

Radver

were the monsters based off of assassin flies? if not what bug or bugs were they based off of?

Charlie Lange

Charlie, this was inaccurate to Louisiana, where are all the alligators??? Where are the snapping turtles??? Hm??? You can’t go into the bayou without the gators. What did they do to the alligators Charlie. All jokes aside loved the campaign and all the characters of it! I love horror so this was so hype for me.

Just Roll With It
>>94653660

I took inspiration from a lot of different insects! The liquifying ability on their stinger/proboscis was based on the assassin bug, yes! Their webbing was from spiders, the structure of galloway once it had been turned into a nest and their alcohol weakness was based off ants, the hive clusters on bees, and there's probably more I'm forgetting haha - If the crew figure out the bug thing they could've feasibly used weaknesses or traits of any or all of these species to their advantage.

Just Roll With It

THIS CAN GO ON THE LIST OF THINGS THERE WASN'T TIME FOR. Early on (maybe episode 2) I actually meant to have a scene where a prey animal was chasing a predator to later show they could take the animals too, so absolutely somewhere in Galloway there was a snapping turtle chasing an alligator LMAO

Jonathan

If they hadn't noticed the creature behind Rachel and had just blown up Rachel would that still have done anything?

Just Roll With It

I took inspiration from all of the dark pictures anthology and similar games for the structure and pacing of the story! My biggest inspirations for the replacer bugs in their human forms were honestly The Thing, The World's End, and fucking Among Us

cait

NO FUCKING SHOT, NOT FUCKING AMONG US DUDE LMFAOOO

cait

WOULD BUG SPRAY WORKED AGAINST THE CREATURES?

Just Roll With It

No. They would have probably died futilely as that was only a small part of the queen's body. The more knowledge they had in that situation the better they were likely to do which is honestly part of the reason I had the queen slow down Rand haha. SO YES IT COULDVE GONE MUCH WORSE.

Daniel Ramsarat

I need to listen to that song at the end on spotify on REPEAT!! That was crazy good, and seeing Charlie dm such a visceral and horror-esk campaign was so fun, and everyones characters were so AWESOME

Just Roll With It

How mad would you be if I said yes absofuckinglutely. Literally any insect countermeasures would've worked which is also why I gave them a final chance to visit locations on that final walk towards the diner in case they wanted to pick up any supplies at all.

cait

DUDE ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS THATS RIDICULOUS LMFAOOOO

Just Roll With It

I was listening back to the final episode and Kian says if they all make it out of there he's gonna write that song, Smoke with the Devil, which was the second I knew it needed to play the series out. I'm so happy he went all out, I've been jamming to it since he sent me the first draft.

Ghostwise

I always think it's so interesting with campaigns like these how often we attribute small detail mistakes to human error. Like how bizly thought that the star wars/star trek thing was just an accident, not a deliberate clue. I wish there were ways around that kind of stuff that didn't involve giving way too big of a hint lol, but it's also dangerous because then if something IS an accident it can get taken totally out of context... I dunno. It's clear how much thought and effort charlie put into this though, and I think it came out fantastic lol.

Radver

would you consider doing a what if where nothing bad ever happened and the just play dnd or atleast a oneshot?

cait

i’m still a little confused and it might be because i’m super tired but is rand like actually alive at the end of it? and if so was rachel actually there with him?

mae

i have 2 questions when it comes to the strength of the monsters!! i was looking up how strong ants are since charlie mentioned that he kinda based the whole brain thing on how ants make their colony, i was just wondering how strong they REALLY are, because it says ants are super fucking strong 😭😭 and another question i have was what happened to the people who went through the process of changing? did they revert back to normal?

cait

sorry i have so many questions, the series really made my brain go crazy

mae

hello Cait - Ranboo Peepo

cait

hello markiplier

cait

YOU.. MAKE A SANITY CHECK!

mae

another question because im insane and sad that bitb is over but where did you get your inspirations for this whole mini campaign?? any shows or video games or literally anything, im srsly curious because the idea of the mind flayers reminds me of stranger things season 3 and how they took over people bodies as well

RABID_POSSUM?!

Did you take any inspiration from any video games including a very particular Quarry???

Sun Drop

I love the ambiguity of the ending, did he die, did he live, did they get together in hell and smoke cigs with Kian and the devil

Sun Drop

As a side note how did you come up with all the body horror can you list some of your inspirations

Kolby

1) I want and almost need a call of cthulu campaign every year 2) so what is the backstory of what happened to Rachel rand? Did she run into this queen on accident? Stuff like that

cait

HEYYY so i just finished the rolled, what’s this bounty hunter concept ??😋😋

cait

i think we’re all thinking this, IS BARCODE OKAY?????

Kealz p.

Haven't listened to the last episode yet, so sorry if this is already answered, but could they/what would happen if they had cut through the barrier surrounding the town?

RABID_POSSUM?!

He is, Im pretty sure Charlie said so

Jazzton

will the outro song and sound track be on spotify

itsjustjelly

So I'm not too far into the episode yet but I wanna get this out in case it's not covered, but what happened with Rand getting stung in ep 3? Like I'm pretty sure his back was fully melting, but it wasn't really brought up after that. Did he make a con roll to fight it off or something? Or was it not actually that serious

snails

not done with the rolled yet, but since the topic drifted from it i wanted to ask!: Why did all the birds die? I know that the barrier was installed and that was the earthquake, but was there any set in stone reason, or was it just to fuck w the players?

Alex Lopez

why did all of those birds dead in ep 1

lostincarcosa

So ive been wondering. It doesn't really change anything but is there a specific person/duplicate person that killed Rat? This might have already been answered but i listen to these the moment they come out so i don't remember everything. Thank you boys for this amazing campaign!

lostincarcosa

they said they might run a one shot where they each take tuns dming and playing different characters each time but they are always bounty hunters.

lostincarcosa

Also i would love to know where Charlie got his ideas for the body horror and how he described certain aspects of each scene like the atmosphere etc. or if he just came up with them on his own. (I am a horror artist and I am looking into making my own coc campaign) Thanks

LisForLex

Hey Charlie amazing campaign. The production quality was incredible but I’ve gotta know where did you get that clicking sound for the monsters.

Vanta

Oh there it is, sweet

Meneer de Vries

What was the deal with the preacher in the community house? I feel like this was of high importance

ConsumeCheddar

my head cannon is that when Rand went bonkers and saw The Queen as an Elder Brain, he also saw Rolan and Kian as their characters. Kian's bard would be on the ground making death saves after casting a lightning bolt spell from his lute, but the Elder Brain was using a psychic barrier to hold it back in the air like Harry Potter and Voldemort. And as Rolan passed him and wished Rand luck, Rand saw Rolan's fighter charge in and slash the barrier to allow the lighting spell to go through and finish the job.

itsjustjelly

Is there gonna be dm notes for this? I'm planning on running my own coc one-shot and seeing the process of how Slime managed to pull off as much as he did would be super sick

ren

amazing campaign man!! definetly my favorite! is there any reason why the creatures were able to pass through the barrier but rolan was not?

lostincarcosa

Yeah I thought that was a pretty good possibility

Sun Drop

It was caused by the membrane being set up

Disjecta

Are you gonna do what ifs for this one shot?

rynzii_jubilee

honestly my first thought about the ending was that rand woke up after the explosion, he was just laying alone and imagining rachel being there with him, kinda like bizly mentioned. is that a possibility?

Roswell

Just want to say I totally adore everything done with this campaign. Even though I sacrificed a good night's rest before school, it was worth it to be terrified by the shadows outside my window! Most of the descriptions and music had my toes curling in fright and every character was played to total perfection. Congrats to Rand for being the final girl!!!!! What were your inspirations for this story? Why choose Louisiana as a setting? How satisfied do you feel with audience reactions? Was Rachel at the end just a hallucination? Are there parts of this world and story you would have liked to explore more? How do you sleep at night? Could Rand go and find Rolan's original body and revivify him? How did the town recover, did all the sinew just dissapate when The Queen died? Did all the drones go back to normal people or did all the posessed people die?

ThatOneGuy

Please do a vampires the masquerade campaign, that would be so fun to watch

Bacchu!

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GAS SIBLINGS. ANSWER NOW.

Amy Waller

Thank you guys! This was an incredible listen! Absolutely worth the patreon!

wren2144

CHARLIE WHAT DID YOU SHOW THEM FOR THE OFFICER DUDES REFERENCE!! I MUST KNOW!!!

YourFoxMomAya

Absolutely loved this campaign, this introduced Call of Cthulhu to me and helped me decide on adding sanity to the game I’m running for a little bit. I wanna test it out and the current arc is perfect for it.

Tyler Jones

I'm replying to this to hopefully get their attention because that would be awesome 😎

Gunkymunkyspunk

Call of Cthulhu would be a perfect system for a mini campaign that I’ve always wanted to try. I always wanted to try an experimental 2 person campaign (1 player and the GM) that would essentially adapt a story inspired by Amnesia: a Machine for pigs to a TTRPG. I always thought it would be fucking sick because I thought that game had one of the best stories I’ve heard but it had a boring gameplay loop. I felt the TTRPG aspect and the player agency would fix that, however I couldn’t figure out how I could adapt that to a larger-than-life system like D&D. Needless to say, Blood in the Bayou revitalized my interest in this experimental campaign and it introduced me to the perfect system to work with. Thank you to all the boys for creating another wonderful series!

Ellis Joyce

Grizly: I'd wanna do like, cw vampire highschool show Me: eyeing monsterhearts 2 and vibrating

bones

absolutely loved everything about this, and nathan did an incredible job. side note, A Moment of Respite sounds like a nier ost and it’s incredible

Rainburst Wobuntah

Supermassive games x JRWI collab when? Genuinely speaking though!! I absolutely loved everything about this mini series!! The music, the balance between comedy, horror, roleplay, and everything in between, everyone's characters, Charlie's DMing, and AUGH!! I've no words, only excited bug noises. It definitely is helping me get through midterms fr fr

Jetstream

Charlie, is there any other campaigns or one-shots you have in the works? If you don’t want to go into detail that’s cool. But like… do ya?

Disjecta

Any main inspirations for the bug creatures/ the story in general?

Strawberry Duchess

I’ll say it here- I don’t buy the ending. I think Rolan and Kian died, but so did Rand and in his dying moments he hallucinated that he won cause he went insane. In reality they only damaged the queen and the colonization will continue.

karma

very nice

Strawberry Duchess

For real I absolutely LOVED this. I’m such a huge horror fan and this was exactly what I love. I would totally be down for another COC campaign cause it was awesome.

CracktheRacc

What's the possibility of this being a movie 👀

Effie Trinket

i just have one question. what the HELL was even up with kian's parents??

Hyper

This has to be one of my favorite campaigns you all have run. I adore horror and the CoC system as a whole and I think it was very well executed here. It's unfortunate it seems like Grizzly didn't have such a great time with it though, but it's awesome of him to step out of his comfort zone to participate in this mini-campaign. Props to all of you for being so entertaining not just in this campaign, but in all of the ones run on JRWI!

thewebernutter

am i the only one who really wants to see a what if about all these alternate ideas the guys had? id love to watch kian rally the town or rand macgyver some electrical trap

Strawberry Duchess

I am also curious about this. I wonder if it had anything to do with him chugging a beer shortly after getting stung?

KonkeyDong

This was an excellent campaign that had me jumping out of my seat!!! I’m wondering what will happen to the town after the campaign?

Mar

I know one of the Patreon goals is getting animated scenes and I 100% believe BitB should get one, you guys do such a good job setting the scenes and acting give yourselves all a pat on the back.

oceanaslana

My favorite idea for the ending: They successfully kill the boss and neither Kian nor Rand die or go insane, but Rolan sacrifices himself to kill the Queen/crumples over and dies once the Queen is destroyed. As a result, Kian and Rand go back to the lake and sing the resurrection song to bring back Rolan, who retains all his memories (even his memories when he wasn’t … Him) but is now 14 years old. They all move to California and Rand learns how to hack databases and forge new documents for Rolan & subsequently finds a stable job as like a computer engineer or something, Kian hits his stride and makes a hit, becoming rich & famous, and Rolan graduates college (for the second time) at 15 years old and becomes the youngest lawyer in American history. they all live happily ever after.

Mar

I actually really like this idea, especially the three of them moving to California and living their best lives together

BigBlueBearBoy

So I have a few things. One, of course, you all did absolutely fantastic, the boys played well and Charlie unsurprisingly DM'd amazingly. My second thing is that I genuinely think Rand did go insane at the end, but not in the sense that everything was a losing scenario. I think he did live, went insane, but Galloway was fixed as well, he'll just never get to see it as he once was ever again. But then one more thing Charlie, if you read this, you said the creatures were otherworldly, whether they were aliens or from another dimension. Could these potentially be yet another example of a Convergence tie in like the boys have been doing recently with their characters? I only say because I remember the final arc we got to see of Convergence with Wilbur, a lot of the monsters there, if memory serves, were insectoids mixed with human parts. Just a similarity I thought I had picked up on that I thought was interesting.

ArcticaTheFox

Thanks to this series, I now unironically do a double take when I hear clicking noises, especially when I hear other people do it XD this was seriously such an amazing experience to be able to be a part of! Thank you to everyone who made this campaign as epic as it was! It would have been super cool to see how the philosophy teacher would’ve handled this, or how the lightning scenario would have gone!

Lucky7s

aw man, really a shame to hear that grizz didnt mesh with CoC, would love to see it again, but if grizzly doesnt like it thats how it be

henners

Hey, don't know if I'm too late to ask, bit is there any way we could see the diagram of what you said rand would have seen officer dude looked like? I absolutely loved this campaign and would love to see you dm more too!!!

Fish

So now that you mentioned it. Can we have a zombie apocalypse campaign? It’d be pretty dope and maybe you could stretch it out for longer.

TheGoodLuckAnomaly

what all sorts of horror media/movies inspired not only world building for mr slime, but the character creation process for the boys? are there any specific horror elements or scary scenes from things that influenced your inspirations? and for design purposes, would you be willing to share what sort of creatures inspired the monsters in this series? just so artists can try to draw them as accurately to your vision as possible

Amazing series!! Idk if you’re still answering questions but i was just wondering what the deal was with the brother in the “pantry”? Like what was the deal with how much he needed his bible? Was he just a religious man dealing with the end of the world in his own way or was there something else there?

Laymat 123

Holy shit I just realized that somehow

TwoDawn

I loved the survival horror of this

Ace Hutson

I would honestly pull up and make you do the zombie campaign.

D3ssy

I already miss Rolan, I loves how condi played him, AND HES A LAWYER SO LIKEEEE.

Iris

i think it was mentioned one or two times that Kian specifically felt like somebody was watching him. What exactly was that? Was it Becky?

JuZomBo

I would love to see a just roll what if, where yall do bizlys electricity plan

mocco

if they planned on playing their dnd characters at some point, did they make up characters for that? if so, what were they going to be like?

JuZomBo

Wait what is this about a bounty hunter campaign?!?!

cait

REJOICING!!!!!!

Just Roll With It

We used the predator clicking sound as a base and modified it based on the scene/situation - so glad the editors decided on adding this because me making my silly little clicking sounds was WAY less scary hahaha

Just Roll With It

I'd love to try out the cyberpunk system next honestly! Seems so fun to worldbuild and design for.

wren2144

Horrifying. Thanks!

HardyGal

There is honestly so much I could say about this little 4 part campaign, my mind is absolutely buzzing with all the scares and feels, but for lack of being able to focus my thoughts into a coherent comment, I will say this: Kian is honestly a brilliant character, and though I know Grizz seemed to be displeased with the way he played Kian… I do think that Kian’s death (pre resurrection) was one of the most tragic parts of this campaign, especially because it really was in character for Kian to end up in that situation. Kian is a man who seemed really caught up in the past, caught up in what could have been, caught up in what he wishes his life was, and that is ultimately what did him in: his inability to let go. And from a story telling perspective, especially a HORROR story perspective, that is absolutely BRILLIANT. It’s so sad and tragic and really stuck with me throughout the week leading up to episode 4. There is honestly so much more I could say about this campaign, especially about the ending and how I think that it is a heart wrenchingly sad ending on a personal level no matter what “you’ve changed” actually means, but Kian’s (first) death is something I’ve been wanting to talk about for some time, so here we are :’]

I thought in episode 3, Rand got stung when he ran into Officer Dudes? What ever happened with that part? I was freaking out waiting for Rand to turn into a bug and then Rolan did! (Crazy twist with Rolan btw, did NOT put that together AT ALL) Also, I’m with Grizzly on this one. While this was cool, this will not be a campaign I will come back to purely because my brain will make this shit up irl and make me paranoid 😂 but it was fantastic Charlie!!

Just Roll With It

I put the preacher there to show what people were clinging onto among the insanity and that they were kinda losing it... in case the players wanted to rally the town against the hive or try and achieve or learn anything involving the townspeople. As much as I'd like to pretend there was a secret in the bible... there really wasn't!

Abigail

Grizzly, Kian was amazing. While he was this sort of "larger than life" character, I saw him as the type of person to try his best to avoid seeing the bad stuff and live in his own fantasy, which I think worked really well with Rand and Rolan, and I think you portrayed that perfectly. That type of character is always so so interesting to see in the horror genre. I think lots of us will agree that Kian certainly did not feel out of place, and that you did a great job! I think Kian's end, as sad as it was, worked well as well. (I also get bulled by my friends for always making hot characters so I'm with you there too man) This campaign in general was absolutely fantastic, and so well acted and played on all fronts. It was very immersive, and I found myself so invested in the town and people of Galloway. I'm so sad to say goodbye to these characters! Thank you all for making this, I loved every second.

Abigail

Ooh good question!

Abigail

My thought was that the sting simply didn't "get" him enough to kill him, but mabye it does have to do with the beer!!

Abigail

Seconded!! Vampire the Masquerade is such a fun and versatile system, and more of a "fun" spooky, depending

Cassie, Daughter of the Stars

So I may have missed this but did they ever state what actually happened to Rands sister? Like she obviously died but was it stated how?

JumpiestVenus 34

I’m glad Bizly is like me when it comes to home defense “Glock and Cock”

unavailable.exe

Gonna be honest, I thought rand didn't turn into one because he poured like alcohol on the wound or smth and that might've been the reason he lived. So it made me stress that he was one of them and Rolan being one? Jaw on the floor. I adored every second of this campaign, every character was phenomenal. I simply adore the coc mechanics it seems so simple and fun, who knew d100s could be so interesting? I think i'd love to see zombie apocalypse type shit, even if grizzly didn't join in cause it was more horror than anything i think condi and bizly could bounce off eachother really well. Though i'd feel bad for griz and it'd feel like the final piece was missing. But thats just my thought (and im a sucker for zombie media.) I normally hate HATE horror cause suspense drives me nuts but this was top tier (and I also kinda want to get into horror whack ik) i'd love to see more horror type stuff in the future. also.. bounty hunters??

CommanderZ-76

So one major question I’ve had, was what was your genuine reaction while Grizzly sorta led himself to his own death so to speak, from a DMs perspective

scrimmyjim

this campaign was so fucking sick. i was on the edge of my seat the whole time. props to grizzly as well for playing in a horror campaign as a guy who can't stand horror - no joke, you are braver than any US marine. i thought kian was a great character, it seemed clear to me throughout the campaign that the overconfidence and narcissism was a cover and that in reality he was just deeply, deeply insecure. even when i still thought he was a rockstar. too bad he exploded into flesh glue.

Lily

Did I just upgrade my patreon so i could listen to this? Yes, yes i did.

VerySpecificChaosFox

i definitely don't have a new obsession noo what are you talking about-- jokes aside this was the best campaign of anything i've ever listened to, it was certainly an experience. i saw the twist with Rolan coming way ahead of time but kept denying it, it was the wildest thing speaking of, though, that leads me to the question that'd been burning on my mind- and that's what happens to the creatures after the queen is gone. do they just like... no longer function? die? what would've happened with Rolan? obviously this isn't my only question but it's the biggest one, and i'm not here to write a whole essay. so ultimately i just want to say, yall are cool as hell, if this doesn't get answered that's completely fine because the experience of listening alone was already more than enough

Lily

Duddeeee I bought the Patreon for $5 to listen, blood in the bayou, after listening to the first episode on YouTube, then I finished all of it. Then was like shit- I need more. And then got the $10 one, so I could listen to the just rolled with it after part.

Justiciar of Gluten

Yeah I listened to that first ep on YouTube and knew I needed more. So I bought the $5 tier and then this morning I went to buy the $10 subscription realized I had no money. Stole my mother’s credit card and bought the rolled with it.

Ella

kian is genuinely one of my favorite characters ever and I think grizzly played him so well. Kian added so much to the campaign and I do not think it would have been the same without him

Nixahma

Rolan was such an out of nowhere favorite for me. Love that guy.

Nixahma

What was up with the sitcom where the dudes murdered each other? Every other sanity roll has had some sort of connection to what was happening, but I can't figure that one out. Was it a hallucination?

HardyGal

QUESTION FOR CHARLIE: what came first, Rachel’s disappearance or Rolan’s replacement? I’ve been trying to think it through in my mind and either one seems possible

Keyia

I don't know what happened, but that last scene at the community house was filled with unimaginably terrible rolls. I'm not all too surprised that they'd be a little discouraged to try that again. CoC really feels like you're always losing.

RuthTheBananaDuck

I have a question for Charlie: what happens to the creatures/queen when they die? The force field turned to dust in the end but you never said whether the bodies did too or if they were still there

Billy Egregore

My question is: have I already been replaced?

Weasel man

Yo. Charlie needs to Dm more this was crazy

Roaring Thundah

Legit, all of grizz's characters have been this hot anime person. i can only think of one obvious exception.

Michael

We gotta get everyone’s coc character sheet surely (also this was such a good campaign holy shit balls man)

Slapping Potato

Kian is genuinely my favorite character, it was great to have this larger-than-life character and he was very funny and awesome! Also insane campaign Charlie. Literally insane, so well made.

Ryezun

Bark disappeared lol

James Halpin

They should do a campaign in the mid 2000s where it is Rands sister young Rolan from the water and someone younger from Kians backstory in the same universe and the bug monsters have come back more evolved and they have to stop them

James Halpin

I think that was an one off joke that was made to create fear and suspense

Finn Butler

It kid of ruins the mystery behind them though if it is just the same creatures that we now know about

James Halpin

That were the twist comes in. While they thought it would be the same old bug people it is actually an entire different monster and story

Ryezun

Look Griz, if you try COC once and it didn't work, that doesn't mean trying it again will as bad

Shiro Okami

Literally the best campaign so far i loved it guys well done

Ryezun

The gay cat?

John EldenRing

Absolutely loved this, but also this opens the door for What If- Mythborne EP.4

Alfiendd

I… suspect that’s kind of… imposterable

Ivy P

[:

Jelloopy

Oh yeah, forgot to ask but quick question. What actually caused all of the Ravens to fall in the first episode??? Was it the top of galloway being covered? or were the bug peeps shooting them down???

Jan Sawicki

Did the Michael Jackson impersonator survive I have to know

Alpha Abyss

I’d love to see another campaign like this. It’s different from normal d&d but it’s like a breath of fresh air. I dont normally like horror but a character like Kian made it bareable. It was the positive to balance out the bleak mindset of the other characters and I was really sad both times he was gone. The song grizzly made for his scene with becky was phenomenal and charlie did a really great job with this whole campaign.

PVZX

I have but one question after watching the finale again would all the bug people die after the queen died or did the queen not die and thus make rand in the end a bug person?

mimi

i literally just finished the campaign and upgraded my tier to watch the rolled this was genuinely an incredible campaign and story and I am going to be thinking about it for the rest of my life

Lucas

Bums me out that Grizz didn't enjoy it so much. Kian was absolutely my favorite character, he was so fun. Felt like rockerboy shaggy kinda

Nixahma

I think it was Rachel's disappearance? In Episode 1, Rand and Rolan have a fight about Rolan taking them to the place where "he saw shit", aka the bodies floating in the water, and Rolan says "Yeah, I know I saw shit here. Right after what happened with your sister." Later, it's confirmed that Rolan was replaced when he found the bodies.

Nixahma

The funny thing is that I 100% got that impression too and then I hear Charlie reciting a fucking washlist of things they could have done and I go "oh. Well fuck."

Non-Moss

Not me just now finishing the campaign. I, like grizzly, don’t much care for horror, but since this is JRWI show I am legally bond to listen. It didn’t help I was driving in the dark listening to this mostly. 👏 Charlie literally never fails to freak me out so bad I have to contemplate my life choices and call my my loved ones to make sure they are okay. The rp was great. The place was terrifying, you know it’s great when I have to struggle through it. The music! I had to stop and completely pay attention to the music! 👏 Y’all too talented!
