It sometimes feels like Grizzly makes the random encounters more dire than the plot-relevant fights. Like he adjusted the electrodon’s health because he was afraid the encounter would be lame even tho they were all near death. But then they all escaped the navy/bounty hunter ambush in Allport with only a few scratches. I love the tension of these desperate fights although I find it odd that they only seem to happen when the crew encounters random beasts in the wild. Idk maybe I’m just an addict who’s itching for my fix of navy drama.

So glad my marine science degree is paying off. So if you flip sharks over they basically become paralyzed. My friends lab puts trackers in sharks no problem (literally cutting and sewing their skin) but when they go for cloacal swabs, the sharks wake tf up. Super interesting stuff!

I agree, but also as someone who’s DM’ed before, it almost feels like a Murphys law that whenever you have a big story-important encounter with lots of strong recurring villains the players always roll super well and kill them immediately, and then when you want something to aid in worldbuilding/just some action for the fun of it, your players roll absolute dogshit and also have done something stupid beforehand that really really hinders them. Again, it’s just dice they’re not more likely to roll thing over another, but it’s difficult to always accurately gauge how near death players are going to get in a fight

i'd imagine griffins probably devastated after not only completely missing what was one of the largest beasts that he would've wanted to fight - but also just let people get hurt/die while being helpless because he was high

I was curious about the stat block too and apparently it is under Electradon not Electrodon. Hope this helps! It is a pretty kick ass monster.

well the navy and the bounty hunters are super strong, but in the end they're just people. that Electrodon is more like a force of nature, fighting it is like fighting a hurricane if a hurricane had teeth and could actively target someone
