THE COUNCIL DISCUSS SEASON 2 EPISODE 35 OF PRIME DEFENDERS

Comments

Catnop

OH MY GOD VICIOUS?!?! I LOVE THE AUTHOR she literally wrote my favorite book series (shades of magic) Thank you for reading my bookworm ;) rant tee hee

Magz yup

Y'know I feel like Charlie should have more hope for William. I get why it's hard to especially when he's in William brain, but idk I have hope for him. Even after pencil diving down, you can never fall far enough to not be saved. Anyways,, amazing episode as always and amazing work on everyone's part as always.

That one middle child

I don’t if it’s just me but I imagined Flows power like that scene in Doctor strange where there in the mirror dimension and they can shape anything anyway they want but instead of being in a different dimension, Flow can just do it naturally and not in a different dimension

Loved this rolled so much!! :D loved lightspeed's backstory (i think ive read something similar to it once) and william's actions made sense to me, i was just interested in how he was willing to go to such dark places in order to get kamuri out. loved how we got such an in depth look at the charcters inner thoughts and how they work. also im kinda curious about what happened to unwitness protection squad. if i was in a (unofficial) detective group in a haunted area and then suddenly everyone got called to leave for some reason, i would definitely stay behind with my group and investigate. maybe they pretended to leave to avoid suspicion and the group will stumble upon them later? i also miss dave and sweet summer child william hopefully theyre happy together somewhere

Was charlie an emo kid

Catnop

I think the only way he could truly be lost forever is if he made a ukelele apology video

Magz yup

Another thing is like to add real quick. Idk about others, but I'm personally in a similar feeling to William. I mean I didn't play a role in a friend's death, but in the spot of feeling no hope in the deep. I think that's why I find William Wisp so interesting. I think it's important to feel hope in him, not to trauma dump or whatever but it helps me feel hope in myself.

bellicose

i related to charlie having a hard time playing william because of how much he pulls from dark places, i had a dnd character like that who was cathartic to play, those are my favorite characters in tabletop and william is definitely a favorite.

D3ssy

every time I hear flow all I can think of is Flo from progressive, so now everytime she's in the scene all I can see is Flo.

Jetstream

I feel like Charlie’s in a similar headspace from before in season 1 when he was playing William all sad before the meatball. Then he reevaluated how he played him and felt better, I think this is a relapse considering the choices that have been made.

Jetstream

I really want William to reconcile with the wisps, I truly believe it was his calling… I don’t know if Charlie really takes the role of wisperer seriously? I don’t know if that’s the right phrasing. Maybe he can redefine what it MEANS to be the wisperer… when he cured that chaos demon back in New Haven I feel like that was a good start to a redefinition. What if he used the power of the wisps to cure corruption? Wipe out the dark spots in the world, like what he was trying to do in deadwood before… if he got the wisps back he could do something like that. I really just hope he gets out of his head at some point, if we end this season with a mopy sad cat William I’d be a little bummed.

“I wonder what would’ve happened if the prime defends never came together” GUYS WE HAVE A THING FOR THAT WE HAVE A THING FOR THAT

Season 3 is getting tide repowered

Jackson Hunter

This is my personal headcannon/take on Flows powers. I imagine it kind of like the scenes in The guru and the crossroads of destiny from Avatar the last airbender when Aang starts to open his final Chakra and, "let's the pure cosmic energy flow through."

Can someone drop the wiki link

The way flow's power sounds to me is that she can alter the scientific properties of things, like opacity, ductility, malleability, and stuff like that. Maybe she might be able to even change what material it is. Like soul stamps in Brandon Sanderson's The Emperor's Soul, maybe she can change things, provided that there is a reasonable reality in which it is true, like she could transform a wall into rock instead of wood but not like paper because it wouldn't make logical sense to make a wall out of paper.

Sam

I hope charlie knows that the pain and suffering he endures while playing william wisp is so worth it because william feels so real it's crazy. he doesn't even feel like a character, but a real person who exists somewhere and has actually lived his whole life/backstory so far. so bravo, and i hope he gets a W soon!

NotAnOrange

I think bizly did some string theory stuff lmao. Weaving stuff and then changing the flow of the universe. Sounds very very string theory-y.

Zorakas

I understand the headspace that Charlie is in with William, about not seeing a way out. And from a character standpoint, that makes a whole lot of sense right now for William. He's in a really dark spot because of a couple of mistakes he made, and sometimes its hard to find our way out if dark situations. As cliche as it sounds, the sun will always come out after it rains, and it never goes anywhere. I hope William is able to come to terms with what has happened to him and his friends, and I hope he is able to reconcile with himself and be at peace. William is by far my favorite character in the series because I relate a lot to how he is portrayed. I've been in that dark slump, not knowing when, if, or how i'll pull through. I 100% believe he can get back on the right track, i just think he needs to get out of the mindset of doing it all on his own.

Just roll what if: the prime defender didnt get their friends killed

Mike Rawch

Really enjoyed this rolled :) thx guys!

Vyrion-157

I feel like William should go live with Tide maybe. If he doesn’t end up becoming a hero or a villain after everything that happened. It could be cute

Cucumber Joe

i fully expect william wisp to go live in the woods for a few years and grow a beard and become a hobo detective next season

Lunatic4hire

Hey so I just finished folding paper and have a crackpot theory that makes way to much sense. Emily is the trickster. Evidence, they found a book that could summon duck, witch is one of the few things that we know ash’s book could do, and I don’t recall who had the book after that so it’s entirely reasonable to say Emily had it when thrown into the portal. Secondly we know chaos demons are just souls corrupted by the chaos realm witch I’m 90% sure is where mallard sent her. This one is a stretch but, there is also the memory that Will experienced when trying to help Arch Angel to consider in witch he was in a western town, which we know is the movie they were constantly shooting in the spirit realm. It also adds a somewhat sad affect to their appeal to the hero’s for help thanks to her memory of Jason being the only one to help her. Their is also her choice to stay in Deadwood to consider given there is evidence that it is close to the spirit realm. Anyway, I’m really interested in their reaction to Vincent having origami’s powers.

Flow reminds me of Atom Eve from invincible

Crowbek

As Bizly was describing Lightspeed's backstory I literally thought "oh, so kinda like Vicious but different, that's awesome" and then he actually mentioned it. I definitely second the recommendation for Vicious by V.E Schwab!!! One of my all-time favourite books

tyrannicalTerror

I feel like a lot of what makes William hard to play is exactly the same as what makes him so endearing and relatable. That relatability makes it so easy to want to root for him, even while he's spiraling. That sort of "If I/you can make it out, you/I can too" feeling. Even though we end up talking about him most, I feel like all of the PD have become a lot more complicated, compelling characters over the course of the series. Fucked up coming of age story, boys!

Xéphen

All I can say is I hope Charlie fixes his character soon. Because having a ghost guy who can't do ghost things is quite boring to listen to. I don't really want to listen about a guy in a hero campaign.

Frankenstein

I really hope William finds a way out, or a path or opportunity is at least there for him to find or choose to get back on his feet. I get from a character standpoint what’s happening. But I will be physically crushed by the corpse of Wewe if he goes villian mode/or just a completely depressing ending with no way out. (I will also be mentally destroyed.)(Half joking ofc)
